Taming Each other

JUNE 13, 2 years ago Amy's POV ____________________________________ BEEP-BEEP-BEEP "Amy, wake up your lazy ass, you are gonna be late for your work." I could hear my roommate Mia shouting from downstairs but I was so deep in my slumber that everything seemed to blur in front of the dream I was seeing. I could hear the thumping of her footsteps coming closer to my room. I wonder she must be fuming while holding a spatula in her hand while muttering curse words which some other human may find offensive as she does this every day while waking me up. "AMY, wake up now-, with that I felt something cool and wet being splashed on my face and I came out of my slumber. She threw water on my face, WAIT for WHAT!!?? SHE THREW WATER ON MY FACE "Aaahhhhhhh", I groaned loudly and got up from the bed ready to argue with her. "What the f**k Mia, Why did you throw water on my face today?" "It's your first day to work today and you are supposed to reach at 10 and it's already over 8, now get your ass ready or otherwise this spatula is gonna be banged on your thick head", and with that nasty warning, she headed downstairs, while humming a tune of some kpop song, spring day. I like this song too. Well, who isn't a BTS fan? Anyways, it's my first day so I shall get ready and make a nice first impression rather than getting late. I glanced towards the digital clock on my bedside table and noticed that it's 8:20 now, damn, I shall take a shower and get ready quickly. I scurried to the bathroom to take a quick shower. TIME SKIP I was standing in front of my closet while having a battle in my brain going on. I was confused about what to wear to the office, I was in my thoughts when I heard Mia, "Amy what's taking you so long ?", I turned around to see Mia standing on the door dressed up in a floral green colored dress. The dress had a boat neck with puffy full sleeves, the bottom was flowy which reached her knees. The dress hugged her curves perfectly. Her tanned honey-colored skin glowed differently in that dress. She had a soft blush makeup on which looked perfectly natural. In all, she looked mesmerizing. She is indeed a beauty. As I always say, she's a Greek goddess with those looks and body. "WOAH, where are you going miss? Wait, Is it the date you were talking about with some dance instructor? Am I right?", I went towards her while folding my arms and looking at her through my narrowed eyes. "Well, yeah, I'm going for the date and maybe I'll reach home late so I won't be able to drop you at the office", She said while showing a pitying look. Though I was kinda sad that she won't be able to be there with me on my first day and won't drop me at the office she's got a life too. "Oh that's not a problem babe, you can go for your date, it's the first time I saw so you happy around a guy, so hurry up and go---, I pushed her out of the room so that she won't be late. She's 6 years older than me and is my older sister. She has always been there for me. She's been such a loving sister who's always been there with me so I never was bothered. She was there when I fell sick and had a burning fever, she was the shoulder I could cry on when I had my first breakup in high school. She was loved and cared for me like a mom figure and I always loved her for that. She means a lot to me. So when she said she won't drop, I was sad that she won't be there to motivate me and help my nervousness. Our parents died when we were young, she never told me how. But I'm 22 now I shall try to be independent. I chose a pink plaid shirt with a beige pencil skirt to wear today. I styled my outfit with beige pencil heels and a black belt around my waist. I wore small silver drop earrings, with small diamonds on them, and wore a matching silver Rolex watch to make the outfit more professional. I applied foundation, mascara, and pink tint on my cheeks. For a natural and professional look, I wore a pink nude lip. I smacked my lips together and examined my look in the mirror. "You are looking gorgeous my lady" while complimenting myself and I grabbed my purse and with a last look at myself in the mirror, I headed downstairs. Reaching the kitchen I saw that Mia kept some omelet and bread, ready on the table. There was a small note beside the plate that said she made breakfast for me and had kept some in the fridge for me to heat up and eat afterward. See that's why appreciate her so much. I had my breakfast and took a glance at my watch, it was already 9:27 am now. The ride to the office from the bus is of 20 minutes, I need to hurry up. I locked the door and headed towards the bus stop. Today is a cold day, with a cold breeze blowing. I shuddered as a result of the cold and looked to my right to see if a bus was approaching. I stepped onto the bus and looked back to see if there were any seats available. I noticed a seat in the back and a man sitting next to it. I walked over to the seat and sat down. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I removed my earbuds and noticed that the man beside me was tapping my shoulder. "Sorry, if you don't mind miss but can you move aside, my stop is coming", the man asked me politely. "Oh, ah sure", I moved my legs a bit and let him go. After that, I continued listening to my songs again. I reached the office where I was gonna work. The building was massive with a big glass door for the entrance. Kim Technologies, the door had written on it. It's indeed a big company. I heard the company has its shares in various famous companies and is constantly growing its business all over the world. Moreover, till now they have 5 more companies running under the name. So, did I tell you all about how I got this job? I was being interviewed for the job, more like interrogated, when the CEO of this company, Mr. Felix Kim, passed by the room and noticed my interview. He walked into the room and noticed me. He was stunning, and it's no surprise that girls swooned over him. I stood up and greeted him; he glanced at me and said something in the chairman's ear who was taking my interview. The chairman nodded his head, and the handsome CEO walked away. "Excuse me miss, it's my first day here so can you please tell me where I've to go?", I asked the receptionist who was busy writing something on his laptop. He looked at me through his glasses, and oh he was the same man who had been seated on my side before. "Your name please", he asked. "Amy Brown", I said and saw him typing something on his computer. "Oh, you have to meet the CEO before heading towards the office. His office is on the 9th floor, go straight and the first door on your right is his office.", he told me politely and started working on his computer again. I walked towards the lift and pressed the 9th floor on the lift. I reached the office and took a deep breath before knocking on the door. "Come in", I heard a deep man's voice from the other side of the door. I opened the door and was greeted with the face of two familiar men and 3 unfamiliar people. The CEO was seated on the big chair with the desk and the Chairman was sitting on the sofa in the corner of the room. There was a lady and 2 men seated in front of the chairman holding some papers. I guess they were discussing something. They all glanced towards me and the chairman instantly smiled and asked me to come inside. I was standing in front of the CEO who looking extremely cold with those dark eyes which bored straight on my skull. Oh how well fitted was his grey suit with a plain white shirt underneath. He looked extremely handsome with those neatly styled jet black hair. No wonder he was given the award of most handsome businessman this year. His one look made my heart flutter. The way he was looking at me, I could feel my heart drumming inside my chest and a wet pool developing between my legs. I tried to stay unbothered, but in reality, he was making me feel things I never felt before. His presence had an alpha demeanor... He had a poker face on and was maybe thinking something. The chairman saw the tension in the air and cleared his throat to draw attention. The CEO came out of his trance and fixed his watch. I straightened myself up and drew a sharp breath. "Ehem, so Miss.Amy Brown, welcome to Kim Technologies, I see you have masters in Technology. Well, that's impressive, Mr.Wang will tell you about your work here and tell you around the office. You may leave now.", he said in a stern tone. "Mr... Wang, Can you please accompany her?", the young CEO asked the chairman. "Oh sure", the middle-aged man nodded his head and glanced towards me. He smiled and showed me the way. We were discussing the work while touring the office when Mr. Wang asked, "Do you live alone or with your parents?" "I'm an orphan, and I live with my friend", I smiled and answered his question. "Oh, I'm so sorry for asking that", he apologized and patted my head. He treated me like his daughter far over till now. "No need to apologize, M..ng, I'm okay with the fact and I'm happy with my life." "You seem special because I never saw the CEO being so soft for someone", he commented. " Oh", was all I could say as I was myself so confused about how easily I got the job. "Yeah and Oh your shift will end at 6 pm every day, you can collect your ID card from the reception and can start working from tomorrow onwards", Mr. Wang informed me. "Ok sir, but why not today?", I enquired. "Oh actually, today there's a special deal and only the required staff related to this deal will stay here", he said. "Oh okay thank you Mr. Wang", I bowed and took my leave. I exited the office and glanced at my watch, it was 2 in the noon. I heard my stomach grumbling at thought of delicious Japanese sushi at the restaurant nearby. I reached the restaurant and entered. I placed my order and looked around the room to see the empty tables. There was an empty table behind a couple in corner of the room. I made my way towards the table and saw that Mia and her date in front of that table. I greeted them and saw that he was the same receptionist from my office. "Oh hey Amy, come here, How was your day?", Mia asked and tapped on the seat next to her. "It was amazing, the office is huge and the chairman is pretty humble too", I told her. "Nice, well, meet my boyfriend, Jake", she pointed towards the man in front of us. "Hi Jake, guess we met again", I said and shake hands with him. "Oh yeah well a fair coincidence, we can say ", he smiled and showed his bunny-like teeth. "I didn't know you both knew each other", Mia seemed to be surprised. "Oh no, well he works in the same office as mine," I cleared. We were chatting and giggling after having lunch when something popped into my head. "I thought you were a dance instructor", I said and glanced towards Jake. He looked towards Mia and said, "Well actually I'm a dance instructor but I teach after my shift, I was in a need of money so I had to work at the Kim's." I nodded and considered leaving the couple alone. They looked so lovey-dovey and happy around each other. "Oh well I gotta leave now, I have to buy some stuff before reaching home, so bye", I said and took my leave. The couple waved at me and I exited the place. I headed towards the departmental store and thought to buy some groceries, snacks, and toiletries for daily use. TIME SKIP 7:21 PM Amy's POV While I was on my way home, I heard some noises and screams of a woman from the alley on my right, I thought to check there and saw some men trying to r**e a woman. I thought since I'm alone it won't help so I dialed 911 immediately and tried to divert their focus to something else. I found a stone and threw it somewhere around them. I hid behind a wall and watched them searching all around. I immediately went towards the girl and crouched beside her. "I called 911 already, let's run before they see us, okay", I whispered to the girl. She nodded her head and grabbed her purse and phone, she held my hand and whispered a thank you while showing a thankful smile. I started running while holding her hand. One of them saw us and started following us, we separated our ways and ran in different directions, she went towards some other alley and u went towards the road. I was running and crossing the road when I saw a light flashing on my face, I turned around and saw a car coming in my direction. That's it, that's my end, I could feel my breath getting stuck in my throat, my brain went black and I was gladly standing ready to accept my death.
