We entered the pack-house with half of my warriors injured, “where is Issac?” I ask worried about my gamma, “they’re still out there, by the pond,” Matthew and I both shift and run quickly through the woods, King Lycan suddenly behind us. I picked up the speed, smelling blood and I see Issac handling two rogues, they were winning. “Isaac!” Matthew says and jumps forward, joining the attack against one of the rogues. Three more come out and King Lycan and I attack them.

A few moments later the six rogues were dead. Issac licked his wounds and I went to him, “you did good. “He’s been gaining rogues from the Canadian packs, their packs are diminishing,” Jakob finally answers. Dominic holds Sophie’s hand as she helps him out the cell. His back stung from the silver. “How many members does he plan to grow?” I ask, “an army… not a pack,” Jakob looks up at me, “your mate is his reward, he claims,” he nods at me. “Tch, over my dead body,” I get up and we all walk back. “What happened?” Ava saw Dominic in pain and Raven went to heal him. “The Alpha’s name is Valex, he’s been gaining more rogues from the Canadian packs,” I say and sit down. “What? That means…” I nod, “the Canadian packs are diminishing in numbers,” Dominic says to the girls. Ava frowns, “Max,” she whispers.

Suddenly Ava goes to the cell and I follow, “Ava, wait,” I try to stop her, “tell me about max,” she says. Jakob looks up, “Beta Max?” She nods, “you must be Ava Lance. Max growls and backs up with the rogues, “Max, why did you change? You were an amazing child,” Ava sounded hurt.

We’ll see each other again and next time…” I growl waiting for his response to finish his sentence, “it’ll be on the battlefield, be prepared, Winter Pack. You’re the last pack we’ll be bringing down,” Dominic comes out after King Lycan and so do Christopher, “want to bet?” Dominic asks, chuckling and growls. “Tch, if only Ava and Ren came by themselves… it would be a clean fight, damn packs,” a rogue says and they walk away.

I get in front of Ava, Sam shakes his head, “no, it’ll come soon,” Sam nudges Vera who sighs and nods. “I’m going to settle this,” I tell the guys after Ava disappears into the trees, “Ren, you know that won’t happen,” Matthew says, “I know. I wish it would, you don’t know what it’s like seeing your mate suffer like I see, Ava. That’s why,” I walk off and catch up to Ava. She felt her heart shatter and I felt it too, just not as painful.
