They got to the mountain and began to climb up, batch by batch. Mrs Amanda and six students went up first. Once they were high enough, another teacher and six other students went up. Chidi just watched them as she shook in fear. Indeed she was scared of heights. How can she go up there? Does she have a death wish? She swallowed. Soon it got to her turn. Her friends and one other student with the last teacher began to climb. The others went higher than her since they were good at mountain climbing. David noticed she was slow so he waited for her. She slowly climbed up with fear visible on her face. Once she reached David she smiled.
"Just go higher than me. I'd be watching you." David assured.
She nodded and slowly climbed higher than him. He pouted and followed. She stopped abruptly as a wave of dizziness hit her. "Not now." She murmured to herself.
David noticed her condition and climbed up to her quickly. "Hey! Are you alright?" He looked quite worried.
"I can barely see. My eyes are spinning." She complained about to cry. "Will I fall?"
David looked down and noticed they were far from the ground. If she fell, it would be over. She'd die at an instant. He shook his head. "How can we go about this. If you fall, you wouldn't survive. What should we do?"
Chidi could barely hear him. She couldn't even see or feel the mountain anymore. She felt like she was in the air. Her ears began to ring. All she could perceive was a sweet aroma which made her smile. She didn't even noticed when she leg go of the mountain and to the ground she fell.
David screamed as she fell and without thinking, followed her down there. As they fell, he noticed a foggy cloud below them. The foggy cloud opened as they got close to it and all he could see was green grass and people walking around. He quickly grabbed her as they went through the foggy cloud.
Chidi woke up at a start and she looled around. She found herself in a strange place with normal looking people walking around. She saw her best friend laying on the green grass unconscious. She tapped him to wake up but he didn't bat an eye. She got scared she looked around for an empty shed she could take him to and found none. She got even more scared. She began to shake David profusely to wake him up but it was of no use.
"David! Wake up! Please!" She began to cry. Was her closest and only best friend going to die on her? She couldn't allow that.
A fellow approached her from behind slowly. She noticed that and quickly turned around. She gasped. "Eniola!!!"
The lady with jerry coil and light make-up smiled back. She had long fixed nails and fixed lashes. She looked beautiful though. She squatted before David and checked him. "He's alive but unconscious due to the fall. How did you get here anyways?"
"I don't know. I think I fell." Chidi replied looking at Eniola suspiciously.
Eniola sighed and nodded. "I know you want to ask, how I got into The Fogs realm, but I'd only say you should follow me. If he's here for too long, he may get killed by the elders. My place isn't far from here. Let's go."
"Why should I trust such witch? You deserved your ending anyways." Chidi said in disgust.
"I know I did. And I regret selling my soul to The Fogs too, so please let me save you guys this once and I'd find you a way to leave."
Chidi frowned and looked at David. "Just this once."
David was carefully later on a black bed. Chidi sat next to him and caressed his face. Eniola scoffed at that and moved to a cupboard. She took out a cup, filled it with water from a bottle and poured some powder into it. She came back to the friends and handed it to Chidi. Chidi looked at her suspiciously, then looked back at David.
"You think I didn't see what you put in it?" Chidi asked with a scoff.
"It's white Fog powder. It helps to revive the dead and wake the sleeping." Eniola explained.
"Yeah. So you want to initiate David? Pass."
"It's the only way. At this point he may die. Do you want that? Stop over thinking and give it to him." Eniola urged.
Chidi turned to Eniola and smirked. "He wouldn't just die. I have a God more powerful than you. And besides, how did you become one of them?"
Eniola looked down and took a seat next to the bed, opposite Chidi. "After that accident, I didn't die immediately. I was visited by a Fog in the hospital. They told me I could live if I joined them. I didn't want to die so I did. Then later, I realized I made a grave mistake. I thought I could return to my life, but my life is over now. There's no going back nor a heaven for me now."
"There was no heaven for you before. You were a total sinner. You bewitched David. You were a p********e. How did you think you could make heaven?" Chidi questioned.
Eniola sighed. "God would have forgiven me. He knows my heart."
"Indeed he does. He knows how demonic your heart is. But you may have given yourself a second chance. Probably, if you ask for forgiveness now, you may be completely forgiven." Chidi said matter-of-factly.
Eniola looked away. "Who are you to judge?"
Chidi scoffed. "I am not perfect myself, either. But at least I'm not deceiving myself about a sinner going to heaven."
Before Eniola could responded, David coughed. Chidi quickly attended to him. He was helped to sit up and he looked around. His head spun a little but he was fine. He gasped as he saw Eniola.
"Hey." Eniola greeted with an innocent smile.
He frowned and turned to Chidi.
"She's a Fog and we are in Fog Land." Chidi informed before he could ask.
"She's a Fog?" He turned to Eniola. "How come?"
"Long story short, she sold her soul to The Fogs."
David gasped. "So you are just purely demonic?"
Eniola shook her head. "I can explain."
"Explain to yourself, demon. All we need to know is a way out of here." Chidi informed and she helped David get up.
"It's not easy to leave here." Eniola informed getting up.
"Why is that?" David asked.
"The one and only way to leave here is by killing the King Of Fogs. And that is nearly impossible."
"Nearly?" Chidi smirked.
"Don't think of killing him. If you do, every soul her would be destroyed. You can't be irrational and selfish."
Chidi scoffed. "Selfish? Irrational? If the souls here will perish, then let them. They chose their own fate by doing bad."
"Most times they are forced to. The King of Fogs forces us to kill people." Eniola tried to explain.
"Like Susan's case?" David asked.
"H...how did you know? It wasn't even in this state."
"Tell us where the King Of Fogs stays or I'd kill you." Chidi threatened.
"You can't. Fogs don't die so easily. We aren't ants." Eniola frowned.
David nodded. "And we aren't animal either, so we can't stay locked up here forever. Just tell us where your King is."
"What if I don't?" Eniola asked frowning deeply.
Chidi scoffed and nodded. "You do have a death wish don't you?"
Before Eniola could speak, Chidi was found squeezing her neck, with Eniola's back on the wall. Eniola tried to turn into a Fog, but she couldn't. When she was closed to fully tuning Chidi's eyes turned gold. A golden whip was seen wrapped around Eniola making it hard for her to turn.
"You..." Eniola tried to breathe.
"Tell us where he is!!!!!" Chidi yelled and the voices that were heard were those of a man and hers.
Eniola trembled in fear. "I'd...I'd tell you!!"
Chidi released her grip on Eniola's throat, but the whip still tied her. "Speak." She still had that voice.
