Alpha cowboy

Chase -I woke up to another normal Friday. Pulling on a pair of jeans, black t-shirt and to top it off a grey and white plaid shirt. Brushing my hair into a simple ponytail and slipping on my well worn cowboy boots, I raced out the door. I loved driving my old 1969 copper brown gmc down the curvy roads towards the Blue River college. At the end of my day I walked to my last class. I sighed as I set down my book bag and settled myself into the table at the very back of the room. It has been another boring yet interesting day, if that’s even possible. For me it was while attending college. I loved learning new things and attaining knowledge. Sometimes it could be mundane though and I often catch myself wondering if any of this information is useful in life, especially my own. Being a country girl all my life I attained those skills on the ranch. Being a wolf was another thing all together and again my skills for that are attained elsewhere. Thanking the goddess that my last class of the day was finally over with I rushed out the door. Stopping by the bookstore in town before heading home for the day, I purchased a few books to read over the weekend. As soon as I got home I made a quick sandwich and headed towards the barn. Saddling Renegade I rode out towards the eastern pasture looking for my brother Tate. Stopping at the fence line where he had parked the side by side fixing a broken section of the fence. I stepped down tying my rains to the back of the side by side. “Hey sis, good timing.” “As always.” I proclaimed laughing while my brother rolled his eyes. After finishing the fence my brother headed back to the house, while renegade and I decided to take the long way home. Reaching the barn I unsaddled renegade and let him out into the pasture. I yawned as I walked back to the house but there was no time for sleep, not yet anyway. Grabbing my bag I headed to my room to finish my school work before dinner. I had just finished a essay for my English lit class when my brother mind linked with me. I stretched from sitting in my desk chair too long. “ Hey sis, suppertime!” “ ok, ok I’m on my way.” I linked back as I walked into the bathroom and washed my hands. After supper and our perimeter watch at dusk I settled myself down to read one of the books I had picked up. With a loud knock at my door Tate entered the room. “ there’s no time for reading chase, we’re goin out.” “What?, where?!” I proclaimed “ Did something happen?” I asked “ no but we are expected to attend Jake’s home coming party so let’s get goin, Ginnys already to go so we’ll meet you at the blue moon” he says and once again as he skipping down the stairs,Ginny being my brothers mate of four years. “ cmon daylights burning!” Oh shut up you goof it’s not even daylight I muttered as I stepped into the bathroom once more. Deciding to apply a thin line of eyeliner and copper brown shadow, I topped off my look with a few swipes of mascara and headed out.Driving slow down the winding wooded road my mind slipped to the past. Wow I hadn’t seen Jake in years ever since he went away to alpha training. We all grew up on the pack land together. The pack land was an array of ranches and forest land strung together as far as the eye can see. I loved my home. I remembered the long summer nights playing down by the river with the other pups and Jake. But child hood fun and friendships turned into the high school years and even though we had still ranched together out of school, Jake started dating Cassandra or Cassy as everyone called her. Ugh Cassandra she was vomit within it self, even thinking or speaking her name. She always thought she was better then everyone else. A cruel dramatic stuck up b***h. What Jake saw in her I have no clue. Pulling up to the Blue Moon “here it goes” I muttered to myself as I walked up to the doors. Walking in a familiar smell of cigarette smoke and booze wafted up into my nose. “ there’s my lil sis!” Ginny squealed in excitement from across the room as she ran up to greet me. “ Hey Gin” I greeted quietly “ You missed the toast.” She stated “Jakes gonna be an alpha soon.” She said filling me in. “ And you know what that means?!” I shook my head. She Linked arms with me and directing me towards the bar. Please don’t say it I prayed to myself but it was too late for that. “ It means he’ll be looking for a mate, that could be you!” She squealed. I rolled my eyes and told her “ I doubt it Gin” Ordering a rum and coke I sat down at the end of the bar trying to avoid the already drunk crowd. A cowboy stumbled up and leaned against the bar. His cowboy hat covering his face as he layed his head down. Slowly looking up through squinted eyes Jake looked at me for a few minutes. “ Chase, Heey!” He slurred “ bartender get some shots for me and my lil cousin pup over heeere!” Ouch Cousin pup?! I faked a smile as he passed me the shot. Our fingers touched and a small but very affective shock ran through my hand. “ Easy there you lil cattle prod.” He proclaimed. “ Cattle prod! You shocked me!” I stated sarcastically. He chuckled as low and behold Cassy danced over falling into Jake “ Come dance with me” she ordered. “ It looks like you need better company anyways.” She scoffed. With that I rolled my eyes slapped a 20 on the bar and left.
