The Chronicles of the Broken

In the beginning, there was nothing. It was called by various names—the void, a black hole, emptiness, nothingness—and yet it all meant the same thing: utter darkness, without a shred of life. Everything was in chaos and disorder until a voice spoke, and then came a spark of light. "Let there be light," the voice commanded, and there was an explosion. Light tore through the darkness, leading to the birth of stars, solar systems, and other heavenly bodies. But what the voice didn't realise was that the darkness mimicked its creations, giving birth to the ghastly nebula and dark stars. The voice spoke again, and with its words came the birth of life. There were the seven layers of heaven, a home for angels in all their beauty and wisdom, followed by elves, fairies, and every other creature of the light. For the darkness, there was hell, followed by a flood of demons, false gods, titans, dark elves, and every other creature of the dark. ***** Years went by after everything had been created. Just as there was day, there was also night.
