My offer for the house was accepted this morning, and I wasted no time signing the papers through an e-signature program. Charlie and I celebrated in our special way, which involved him giving me a massage before things took a turn towards the erotic. We missed breakfast at the restaurant, so we drove further south for an hour to the nearest town.
After we chowed down on Angus burgers with fries and sweet tea at the local Roadside Burger chain, we hung out at the SuperMart for a little shopping therapy.
Charlie examined the tags of jeans on a rack. "Leaving has to be her decision. We can't drag her out of there or else she'll go back."
I sighed as I studied a white shirt. "I know. It's just that I have a weird feeling about that place? It ain't safe for her."
