Chapter 30 Charlie manned the door while I cooked dinner with the ladies. The men congregated around the TV, watching the football game while debating plays. I was in the kitchen cooking our Thanksgiving meal with Momma and Sarah. Her twins were at the ankle-biter stage and were getting into everything. Ray, Connie, Bri, and Troy showed up at the same time. They probably had driven here together. Sarah and Reese brought over charcoal lemonade, which seemed to be their favorite because they always had it on hand. Connie and Ray brought a vegetable platter. Bri and Troy brought a purchased pumpkin pie and a few cans of whipped cream. Luckily, I baked apple and pecan pies last night, so we had variety. The aroma of mac and cheese and stuffing filled the air when Bri opened the oven door
