Selene didn't know what to say to Jackson after he asked such a shocking question.
“I'm sorry if that's a really private conversation.” When he apologized Selene did not see any reason why she should answer the question that he asked.
Dante was only taking notes of everything that was going on; he realized that asking her questions about Anna might be a little too personal and she didn't want to talk about it.
He was only taking notes so that when he is ready to have a full-time conversation with her he would know how to go about it and not say things that will trigger her.
After a very long ride they finally arrived at the airport and Jackson stepped out of the car. Dante followed immediately and they both headed inside leaving Selene alone inside the car.
