Selene's POV I sat in my car, gripping the steering wheel tight. My heart raced as I pulled into the hospital parking lot. Today is the day I am finally conducting a pregnancy test. I felt a mix of dread and hope swirling in my stomach. After years of trying to have a child, this felt like a big moment for me. "Okay, Selene, you can do this," I whispered to myself, taking a deep breath. "Let's go see what's going on inside me." I stepped out of the car and made my way to the entrance, my shoes clicking against the pavement. The hospital seemed busier than usual, and I could hear the chatter of people in the waiting area. I just couldn't seem to calm down. Just then, I bumped into a man rushing into the hospital and my hand bag fell on the floor immediately. “I’m so sorry sir”, I said to him immediately and tried to pick up my bag, he was silent and kept staring at me like he had seen a ghost. I picked up my hand bag and walked away leaving him there. "Hi! I'm here for my appointment," I said to the receptionist, forcing a smile. "Name?" she asked, barely looking up. "Selene Hunter," I replied, my voice a little shaky. "Alright, Selene, have a seat. They'll call you soon," she said, finally meeting my eyes. I took a deep breath and sat down, trying to calm my nerves. Barely up to fifteen minutes later, the receptionist last called me in. “Mrs Hunter?” I jumped from my seat and she smiled at me as if to calm me down. “Doctor Gerald will see you now.” I force a grin to cover up my nerves and walk into the office. “Hello Mrs Hunter.” “It's been a while, Doctor Gerald. How have you been?” “Quite well. You however seem to be bursting from excitement. You have stopped tapping your legs since you sat.” I blushed, embarrassed and held my knees as if to contain myself. “I'm sorry, I'm just so–” “No, no. It's no fault of yours. How about we–” Just then, I heard loud voices coming from the hallway right outside the door. Doctor Gerald and I were taken aback but before he could get up, the door suddenly flew open, and to my shock, it was the same man I bumped into earlier, he just barged into doctor Gerald’s office. His presence filled the room, and everyone fell silent. "Where is doctor Gerald?" He bellowed, his eyes scanning the area. "Where is doctor Gerald?" He asked again, almost screaming. What is going on here?! I asked doctor Gerald. Why was he so furious? Before I could react, he spotted me. His eyes locked onto mine, a mix of relief and anger in his expression. "There you are!" he said to doctor Gerald, storming towards him. "You need to talk to me. Now!" "A–Alpha Dante, what are you doing here?" Doctor Gerald asked, a little taken aback by his intensity. "I don't have time for games. I need to speak to you now," he said, his tone demanding. I blinked in confusion. "Just then doctor Gerald stood up and walked closer to him. Sir, can you give me a few minutes to attend to Mrs Hunter here I will be with you shortly? He said to him almost in a whisper. "Just tell me how long this is going to take. I don't have all day" he said to doctor Gerald. "It will only take few minutes sir!" Doctor Gerald said, almost looking scared. Alpha Dante left the doctors office and doctor Gerald gently walked back to his seat. “ I’m so sorry for what just happened Mrs Hunter” doctor Gerald apologized. I open my mouth in shock “ it’s fine doctor, it’s nothing! I said, smiling at the doctor.” So Mrs Hunter, back to our conversation your result came back and you're a few weeks pregnant” the doctor announced. I opened my eyes wider than normal at what the doctor said, I took a few deep breaths, everything suddenly felt like a dream. I didn’t know how to feel. The only thing on my mind is going home to break this news to my husband. “Thank you doctor, I must be on my way now," I said to him as I stood up and quickly headed home. Just then Alpha Dante walked into the doctor's office immediately I was leaving. "This is my son or daughter! You need to confirm it now!" Gerald looked confused, glancing at him. "What do you mean your child?" He stepped closer, lowering his voice. "I know she's pregnant. I know she is carrying my child” Alpha Dante said to Gerald. “Pardon me Alpha but there has to be a mix up here. That child is for Mr Hunter and the baby was conceived after a very long fertilization process. “Just to be sure, I'll ask one of my assistants to get the sperm samples.” Doctor Gerald quickly called the nurse and ordered that she rush down to the lab and get the samples. For an antagonizing three minutes, we all stood in the doctor's office and it seemed so cramped. Thankfully, she was already in but I didn't like the expression on her face. “Erm… Do–Doctor. Mr Hunter's Sperm sample is still fresh and unused.” Blood rushed into my ears as I thought I was hearing things. “That can't be right.” Doctor Gerald exclaimed and opened a file on his clipboard, flipping through the pages. "Let me check the records. There shouldn't be any mix-up here." My heart was pounding. Did he really think this was his child? There was definitely no way. It would be the end of the world. Maybe I could try convincing him otherwise. "Selene, did you go through with the procedure? Did you use my sample?" "Wait a minute. I see there's been a mistake here. It was written down that you used Alpha Dante's sperm instead." He looked up, his expression changing as he realized something. "There was a mix-up in the laboratory!" "What do you mean?" I asked, feeling panic rise in my chest. There was no way… "The report shows that your charts were mixed up with another patient. Your eggs were fertilized with his sample instead of Hunter's! This means..."Doctor Gerald hesitated, looking between us. "It means that I'm the father," Dante said, an indecipherable look on his face. I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me. "No! This can't be happening!" I turned to the doctor. "Are you sure? This is insane!" "I'm afraid it checks out, Selene. The tests confirm it. His sperm was used," Doctor Gerald confirmed, his voice steady. “I know my scent anywhere. Get yourself ready as soon as possible. You'll be having my baby.” I stare at him, my heart racing in fear and anger.. "This cannot be real. I just don't understand," I whispered, trying to process what I just learned. "Of course it's real!" He declared, a tinge of excitement obvious in his voice which seemed far different from the stoic expression on his face. "You're going to be the mother of my child, woman.” "But I have a husband! Hunter!" I exclaimed, feeling overwhelmed. "Doesn't matter now," Dante said, his voice firm. "What matters is what I just said. I hate repeating myself more than necessary." I felt sick. "Sir, Alpha or whatever! You can't just assume things like that. I need time to think about it.
