Chapter 6

Alpha Dante pov

After last night's event I woke up very exhausted, so I immediately headed downstairs to get myself a cup of coffee to help me wake up fully because I have a lot to work today.

While I was walking downstairs I suddenly remembered what happened last night, “How on earth are they even sisters?” I asked myself, still finding it unbelievable that both of them are actually related because they are completely opposite of each other.

It still baffles me that a human can have my child, which has never happened. There is no way she isn't connected to the supernatural world. Maybe she's not just aware yet, which is why I have to find out the truth and get to know who she really is.

She is going to be the mother of my child so I have to know her roots. After making myself a cup of tea, I headed to the sitting room with a lot on my mind. I sent an invite to my long time friend who would help me do the digging. I checked the time through my wrist watch and realized he would soon get here.

I was done having my coffee so I headed back to the room, took my shower and got ready for the day. While I was leaving my room, I stopped in front of her room for a moment. I wanted to go in and have a conversation with her but I stopped myself because we don't have that kind of relationship yet right now she's just someone with my baby.

“Look who's finally here after more than 20 invites.” I announced excitedly the moment I sighted Jackson, my long time friend who has refused to hold the position in the pack instead he prefers to tour around. Back then I tried doing everything I could to make him my right hand person but he solidly refused because he has a dream that he would want to fulfill without regrets which is what he is doing now. It's been more than 10 years since we last met each other in person, we only communicate through phones.

Jackson stood up from the couch the moment he saw me and we both hugged each other. It feels emotional because it's been years since we last saw each other and seeing each other right now made me recollects our past together.

“Look at how much you've grown.” I couldn't believe he just said that in the presence of my maids. He seems to forget that I am now the Alpha of the pack, I might have to remind him.

“It’s been ages.”

“Never thought I would return.” Never expected to hear that and obviously I wasn't pleased to hear him say that he wasn't expecting that he would return to the pack ever again which makes me wonder why he left in the first place the way he did and now saying this only makes it even more suspicious that there was a reason he left the first time.

“Why?”

“It's the only place that I have spent more than 20 years of my life in so I know everything about this Pack. I definitely want to explore other places, not going back to where I know very well.” I was actually relieved to hear him say that at least it's for a good course.

“You stated something different this time around in your letter so I was curious to know why you suddenly decided to have a surrogate rather than getting a Luna. What happened to your relationship with Anna?”

There was definitely a lot that Jackson didn't know because of the distance between us, the only thing that I could tell him is that I was expecting a child with some stranger which obviously made him return to the pack.

“Anna is in the past now, both of us don't have a relationship anymore.” Jackson looked shocked to hear what I said. He must have been wondering what happened and why my relationship with Anna ended so suddenly.

“Dan, I know that your relationship with Anna isn't what you ever wanted but your position as the alpha is being threatened because you do not have a luna, very soon those hungry elders would start complaining and at that time it might be too late so now is the time for you to get married. Forget about her disgusting behavior, her rudeness that you complained about, what matters the most is that you get married.”

“I'm going to be married to her until she gives birth to my baby.”

“Then what happens after the birth?” Jackson asked curiously.

“When that time comes, I'll settle her properly.” I replied to his question immediately. There was a short silence between the both of us. I tried my best to focus on the reason why she's with me, I shouldn't involve myself in her family problems.

“What's about her family?”

“That's why I sent you an invite.” Jackson sat up properly when he heard what I said.

“What do you want me to help with?”

“I need you to do some research about her, she claims to have no relationship with our kind but she's carrying my child, that is my heir, you know how impossible it is for such a person to be so healthy while my child is growing inside of her.”

“She clearly doesn't know her roots or she's hiding the truth from you.” Jackson concluded immediately.

“I don't think she's hiding it. She looked sincere when she answered me.” I explained to Jackson, he didn't seem completely convinced by my words though.

“So you want me to find out who she is?” Jackson asked for clarity.

“Yes.”

“Why don't you seek the help of the witch, I mean she lives here in the park house, it's easy to consult her first.” Jackson suggested.

“Going through the witch is easier, yes I get you, but she's only going to see the spiritual aspect, I need to know about her background which is something the witch can't do.” Jackson heaved a sigh when he heard what I said, it's obviously a tough one for him.
