I stared at the book before me but if I was being honest, it didn’t make any sense to me.
All I could see were letters that mixed together but that was it. It didn’t make any sense to me.
My thoughts were too loud. Maybe louder than they should actually be.
All I could think about was what Sara had told me… about the Thanes.
A powerful bloodline. A line of Alphas. Wolves that had existed before time. Strong, feared, respected.
And now she was saying I was one of them?
I didn’t feel powerful.
I didn’t feel strong.
I wasn’t… them. I was human. Just a human female who’d been convenient for bearing a child.
Would the Thanes even take someone like me? I doubted that. They would want someone like Dante. Even Anna would be a perfect fit with all her rough edges.
