Shopping For Grenades

I yawned stretching my arms wide seeing the sun rising, and spreading a warm pool of sunlight throughout my room through my opened window. I snuggled deeper into my covers, happy that the weekend had finally rolled around. I let my eyes flutter shut again content to just stay there for as long as I could. Unfortunately, Jordon didn't have the same plans as me. "DIVE-BOOOMMMBBB," He shouted excitedly, bursting into my room and jumping on to my bed, squishing me in the process. He stole the pillow from underneath my head and started to whack me with it. "Hey, Ah, STOP," I cried out laughing loudly, "How is that fair? It's my own pillow." "You have more than enough your just being selfish," Jordon pouted as I took up another tan pillow and fought back holding my own. "You have 20 minutes Arrgghhh," he tried to speak in between my hits. I was master at pillow fights. " Till we are going, Aahhhh, sh-shopping," Hit. Defend. Block. Hit. "We're bringing- HA take that LON- Conner." He finally got back on his feet holding his own. My aunt and him had forgotten a few things when they went shopping for me, so Jordon had promised to take me to get stuff to decorate my bedroom with and other things. It was still a boring tan colour. "WILL YOU SHUT UP?" Someone cried from across my room. I looked over and there stood Logan shirtless, looking quite good, well defined muscles and all, but looking like a bull. He seemed angry and I swear I could see smoke coming out of his ears and nose. I had a red shirt in my drawer I wondered if I waved it around enough, would he jump across the window gap and charge? I started to laugh in the awkward silence as I pictured a half Logan half bull. That only made him more angry. "What? What could possibly be so funny?" He asked trowing up his hands as if he couldn't possibly understand me. His tattoo full of loops and fancy designs, I realized didn't actually depict anything, yet it still seemed to slither like a snake up his arms and coiled down on his chest as he moved. Well I certainly wasn't going to tell him the real reason, so instead I said turning to Jordon, "Come on the Princess needs her sleep. " "Certainly can't look this good all the time without it can I now?" Logan mumbled turning around. Wow egotistical much? I was about to walk away but I couldn't help myself. "Hey Logan, you should know.." I leaned against the window, feeling only slightly self conscious about my bedhead hair and awful I-need-a-shower smell. "What," he said glancing back over his shoulder, a hand on his door nob. "You remind me of a Russian doll," "Why because I'm so handsome?" "No, because you're so full of yourself." I smirked and slammed my window shut before he could respond and twirling around my brown hair flying I gave a high five to Jordon's waiting hand. We both laughed seeing Logan's look of annoyance and grabbing a change of clothes I walked out of the room and headed for the shower while Jordon headed downstairs to make me some toast. Not fifteen minutes later I was ready, an outfit of a red shirt that said "You know you love me", black jeans, of course my converses, straight blow dried hair, and only a little bit of mascara. I headed down the stairs passing my aunt and uncle's, Jordon's and finally Conner's room. Adam's was downstairs in the basement, where I had yet to spend more than half an hour. What? It was dark and a little scary. I started down the stairs, but stopped hearing an small voice behind me. "Can I come with you London?" Conner asked shyly, poking only half his face out of his doorway. I smiled kindly, "Of course, buddy, that's the plan. You can even help me find some awesome spiddy man posters and marvel themed things for my bedroom. How does that sound?" Oh yeah you heard me, it was going to be a hard core marvel movie themed room for me. He nodded his head his little curls shaking on top of his said and said, "Wait there," I heard him scramble around his own room until I heard a small AHA! He ran back out into the hall and shoved a small Thor POP! action figure doll into my hands. "Welcome to the family. This is my gift for you." His face was shining and I couldn't help but hug it to my chest and reply, "I absolutely love it. Thank you." "Hurry up, guys," Jordon called up and I put my skinny butt in motion grabbing Conner's hand and dragging him down the stairs, not wanting to get beaten by Jordon in another pillow fight, or any other type for that matter. We stood in the entrance to the house, me slightly panting because, hey I can't deny it I'm out of shape, and Conner wiggled his hand out of my grip wrinkling his nose. "Ewww cooties," I shared a laugh with Jordon and waving a goodbye to my aunt and uncle in the kitchen we walked out headed for the mall. ******* "Hey look I know we've been at each other's throats since we met but that doesn't mean that every encounter we have has to be hostile. Chill. I'm here for the same reason as you, okay? Buying sh*t. Parents orders." I stood in the middle of Target with an umbrella pressed against Logan's throat, ready to whack him on the head as soon as his movements called for it. The i***t had the nerve to trip me while I had been walking down one of the main isles of the store so that everyone could see. The bastard. But, Fate had looked on me kindly for she presented me with my weapon two feet from where I had landed. And so here I was threatening him to leave me alone or face my wrath. "Look, I'm not going to hurt you. I only tripped you because we're at war what do you expect? But now, I swear I won't doing anything else in this store. I'll play nice." I was very suspicious. Not once since I met him earlier this week had he been nice to me. What had caused this change? "Oh no, I know what your doing. This is all part of your plan. Your little friends or helpers whoever they may be, they can come out now. This is a surprise attack. I know it." He shook his head laughing at me slightly. I pushed the tip harder against him and his laughing subsided. "You take everything too seriousness sweetheart. Just put this umbrella down. Trust me I-" "I have no reason to trust you at all, Logan." He nodded solemnly and turned around. "Alright, fine. Look I'm walking away. Do you want me to put my hands on my head too? Anything for the sheriff. There is that good?" He seemed to start to walk away hands on his head and I resigned, content, to looking back at the stuff sitting on the shelves, relaxing my arm and letting the umbrella hang loosely by my side. When were Jordon and Conner going to come back from the guy's clothes section? You'd think that I'd be the one looking at clothes but, oh no terribly opposite of all cliches I was staring at fan merchandise of the marvel movies- things for my room- and the boys were looking at shirts and jeans. So here I stayed. Not two minutes later I felt something sliding out of my butt pocket of my jeans and I whirled around. Someone was taking my phone. I raised my hand to slap them, but stopped seeing Logan looking guilty, yet smirking as if he had just won a stuffed toy at the carnival. I brought the umbrella down anyways and smacked him satisfyingly down on the head. I heard an audible thump. I smiled wickedly "Give that back," I said angrily, and raising my weapon again threateningly. "This seems very similiar to when you took my phone." He said dancing away from my fingertips that reached for my baby. I don't think this umbrella was doing much good. so I dropped it and chase after him. "Ahh this is so cute, sweetheart, your chasing after me," he said smiling as he walked away even further and I followed. Now this was a side I hadn't seen of Logan yet. He was being playful. "Ha good try, I have heels higher than the standards needed to fall for you and I wear converse." "Well it's not like I'm trying to pick you up either. I'm not a garbage collector." Well that one stung, but only a little. I at least knew I had moral standards to hang on to. Him? Not so much. Suddenly I noticed his fingers typing on my phone as he walked away leading me into the guys' section. "Hey what are you doing? Stop, get off of my phone." Pretty soon I would be going all Godzilla on him if he didn't give that back. "Oh don't worry I'm only doing you the biggest favour of your life." "What is that?" I asked anxiously, seeing him close all tabs, so that I wouldn't see what he had done. "I guess you'll find out later." He said placing the white iPhone 6 back in my palm. He brushed my fingertips and I felt a shiver crawl up my arm. I shoved the feeling away, he was making me intimidated and scared- that was all. "I want to know now," I whined staring at my screen as if that woild give me an answer. But Logan only looked annoyed so I stopped. Then I thought, What the hell, I'm not trying to make him happy. "Logan, why are you being nice to me? What do you want?" "I know this is war, but many people have heard tell-tale of this thing called frenemies? What do you think? Should we give it a go?" He asked honestly. "Logan, you only smell like drama and a headache, you should just stay away from me." He frowned. "Damn, I try the whole nice thing and this is what I get. You know your're better off going to hell, sweetheart, than staying away from me, so maybe you should rethink that statement." "Oh, Logan, where do you think I came from?" And I meant every single word of that sentence. If he knew everything that had happened in Michigan than he wouldn't try to compete with my words about it being hell. He looked at me ready to reply but Jordon came up behind me, dragging an frightened Conner behind him. He hid behind both or legs, shy of the monster in the shape of Logan. Believe me, kid, I'm scared of him too. "Did he do anything stupid yet?" Jordon said pointedly glaring at Logan. "Not any more than usual, which is normally a lot," I replied, Logan scoffing in response. Then his eyes caught a hold of Conner and his whole demeanor totally changed. His eyes didn't look so guarded, more soft-like and his tense body, seemed to slump slightly as if an imaginary weight had settled on his shoulders, his hands even shook a bit. I was instantly confused. What was it about Conner that made him change? "Logan," I whispered softly taking a tentaive step towards him. He whipped his head towards me and seeing my expression a small look of panic crossed his face, but then hurriedly was shoved underneath a mask. His mask only showed the normalcy of a slight look of anger and ego-filled appearance. He shoved his hands into his navy leather jacket and muttered, "Watch yourself, London," and walked away. He didn't usually use my real name. That was odd. I couldn't look away until through the store windows, I saw him hop on to a motorcycle and drive away. I didn't fail to notice his clenched hands that stayed white from the strain until they met the bike's handle bars and were out of view. I peered over at Jordon, who just shrugged and said, "It's for the best anyways, that he left," I nodded and lead the two boys to the check out having found all the things I wanted. "So we got a mint and grey coloured comforter, and bed sheets set," Perfect to go with the grey coloured walls, "and a marvel spider man poster and a captain america makeup bag, and a iron man snap-back hat, and a black-widow POP! bobble-head to go with Thor so he won't be lonely. Sound good to you guys?" "Yuppers," Conner replied happily, I smiled at his enthusiasm and paid, but I was distracted as we got into the family's little red car. By the time we had got home I realized, someone had texted me five times. Of course Kayla, Ryan, and Jordon all had my number, but as far as I was aware they all were busy today and of course Jordon was with me. So who was this unknown number? I hadn't bothered to read them yet, but as I thought it over I realized that, well, Logan had stolen my phone. OH NO HE HAD MY NUMBER????? Is that what he had done? That little devil. I hurried upstairs with my stuff and began to put everything in place, when my phone dinged once again. I sighed but still smiled when I read the text 'Are you watching your back yet? It shouldn't be this easy to get your frenemeny's number,' I glanced over at the window, but found that Logan wasn't there. Typing a quick response, 'No one said you were my friend or my enemy, boy, and I could have beaten you to a pulp with my umbrella. Just wait till next time.' "Dinner!!" My aunt called and looked over my shoulder to see the boys heading for the downstairs where the food was. "Coming," I called back with the other three. I didn't expect a response from Logan anyways so I threw my phone on the half made bed. But I couldn't help thinking what are you hiding in your life, Logan, and what will you do to mine?
