The Wicked Watery Deed

I sighed. Was this how is was always going to be? "JORDON! Get skinny a*s down here, we are LATE! If you had any muscles at all on those excuse of a thing you call legs maybe you could walk a little faster," I yelled up the stairs. Unfortunately, the dumb boy was a couple months older than me so he could, of course, drive before me. What a pain, I couldn't leave him behind this Tuesday morning. I pouted. "Does your momma know you talk like that?" Adam asked walking up the stairs, from the basement stairwell that connected to the hall behind the kitchen. He was trying too hard to be like 99 cent. "Um hello, that's not even the real song," I said laughing, "It's, 'does your momma know you dance like that?'." Adam tisked his blonde hair unnaturally still with the use of so much gel and mumbled, "Always, has to show me up, doesn't she?" My aunt walked into the kitchen where I leaned against the island granite counter. She pulled out a spatula, getting ready to make some pancakes for my uncle who was sick with a head cold. She slapped Adam slightly with it and looking sternly at him said, "Yeah your momma sure does know you be saying things you shouldn't." I laughed along with her as  he turned bright red. "Is there a special someone, you're saying these things to? hmmmm?" I asked teasing him. He laughed nervously and scratching the back of his neck stuck his head into the fridge trying to hid his embarrassment. I thought I knew who it might be. My aunt whacked his head once again. "You already had breakfast, Adam, get out of there before you eat me out of house and home," He sighed and pulled back, and giving me a 'watch it' look asked if we were ready to leave. Jordon came pounding down the stairs. "You sound like a freaking elephant. Maybe I was wrong, maybe you have a fat ass." he stuck his tongue out at me while we shoved on our shoes, backpacks hanging off our shoulders. "Charming," I replied. I hugged my aunt goodbye and breathed in her lovely smell of flour and baked cookies. It was a nice scent instead of the overpowering constant scent of cologne I was always dosed in from the guys. "Tell uncle, I hope he gets better," My aunt nodded and we were shooed out the door. Fifteen minutes later and I was being bombarded by an auburn fluffy covered thing. "Is it too soon to say, 'Your mine, all mine my precious!!' ?" Kayla asked crazily hugging me from behind pushing me into my locker. What was she referring to and why was she bringing up Lord of the Rings? "Okay, Ryan you were the only here with her before we came, what did you give her? What did you do to her. My friends's been taken over by Gollum," I said looking at him accusingly. He held up his hand in surrender. "It's all her I swear, just her. I did nothing. NOTHING. I'm innocent I tell you innocent." His eyes suddenly became unfocused and were pulled to something happening behind me by the English class' door. It sounded like a scuffle, possibly a fight and turning around I found out it was just that. "I don't care if we are late to class, we are not going over there, we are staying far far away," I said and Jordon nodded his head in agreement. We stared for a few minutes at the two boys, neither one I recognized. One looked like he might be a sports player, natural blue eyes and a nice sandy beach boy type of look, but he looked pissed. The other had dull brown hair, but with one pierced ear with a diamond, clear and defined muscles, and with that jaw line, he was quite the something to look at.   "Hey, Kayla I think there's a little bit of drool riiighhtt, right there," Ryan teased her poking her chin and pretending to wipe it away until she swatted it away annoyed. Seems like I wasn't the only one thinking those thoughts, hey? "Who are they?" I asked. Although, I hated being that annoying person who was always asking everything because I was new, I really wanted to know. "Well the one who kinda looks like a beach boy, that's the jock Josh. And the other one that's Ryker, he's part of Logan's crew. Just as much of bad news as Logan is. Used to be one of Adam's friends too, actually, he used to come over a lot. Mom never liked him, though." My eyes almost popped out of my head, there was more than one person like Logan at this school? How could everybody at this academy stand it? I would have blown off my top by now. Well not everyone's at war, I reminded myself. Ugh, thanks for reminding me, me. How was I so annoying, even to myself? I didn't know how I managed to do it. "Don't touch my girlfriend, you asshole," Josh yelled as someone finally pulled the two boys apart. Ryker didn't look impressed. "I don't effing care. She threw herself at me, mate. Maybe you should reconsider calling yourself her 'boyfriend' if she has to find satisfaction elsewhere." Well, oh my my my, Ryker had nerve and a mouth. I hoped I wouldn't have to run into him and  Logan ever at the same time. As they were finally dragged away Jordon took me by the elbow and dragged me into the English classroom pushing us through the slowly dissipating crowd, "Let's just focus on class why don't we? Forget them" He said. I rose an eyebrow. OOokkkaaayyy, someone was all super academic all of a sudden, but I didn't say anything else. I placed my books down on my desk beside Kayla, who was rambling on about how sad she was at not seeing me over the weekend, and noticed Logan wasn't here. What a relief, I get a break from him finally. But, where was he? Skipping probably. Seemed like something he would do. The intercom crackled to life at the edge of the room and the teacher called for us to 'listen up,' as it gave it's announcement. "Upon short notice, it has come to the our attention that all junior girls are to be notified that the school's swim team is holding their bi-annual tryouts for the team. All looking to join or tryout can meet at the school's pool in the west wing during third period immediately following lunch. They may be excused from a detention or other punishments for being late, as they are exempted for school purposes." Jordon looked at me from across the room, "that means you," he mouthed pointing at me. I thought about it, I hadn't swum on a team since grade nine. It had been two years since I had do anything, but could I get back in it, and do alright? I thought so. Maybe I'd give it a go. 'I'll give it a shot,' I mouthed back at Jordon with a wink. He pumped his arm in the air, Wasn't he excited? 'My baby's growing up, and getting involved in school,' he mouthed wiping away a fake tear and I rolled my eyes ready to reply when the door smacked open, the handle smashing into the wall behind it and making me wince. I felt and probably looked more horrified when I saw who it was. Of course, I couldn't get one day of peace without him could I? Logan was never not there to annoy me, what a pleasure it all was. He stalked over and sat behind me, the only desk open because he was late. The bell rung and leaning forward in his desk he whispered in my ear, "Thought, you were free of me for the day, didn't you? Well you were wrong. How do you like that feeling?" I shivered and leaned forward not wanting to hear him anymore. I didn't know what I was feeling and that was what scared me. Please, hurry up and do your job, Mr. Trill, please teach, I didn't want to think about Logan anymore. ****** "Come on, come on come on, OH YEAH THAT'S MY GIRL!" I heard someone scream from the humid stands as I beat the girl beside me in the swimming lanes, on the first lap. Oh yeah, I was back at it and better than ever. Not to be too cocky or anything. Kayla, I knew at least, had my back, she was even skipping class and pretending to try out just to watch and cheer me on. I swam as fast as I could on the way back, glad it wasn't a 100, meaning four laps- I wasn't quite in shape yet. Free style, baby, this was my favourite and this is what I was good at. And so one arm went up and over, then the other, then the other again, then breathe, and repeat. Faster and faster I went, surprised that I wasn't tired at the last little strip but rather refreshed and speeding up. The water cut around me and I finally slapped the wall, signalling I was done. The coach came up and leaned down to clap me on the back. She was no older than twenty-eight and had beautiful blonde curls that cascaded down her back to her shoulder blades. I think I would like her if I made the team and got the chance. "Good job, newbie London, you're the second one done. You may have just guaranteed a spot on the team, but you'll have to wait and see for the list to be posted, to be sure." I gasped. Second? I got second? That was awesome. For being out of practice and jumping back in without any training two years later, I was impressed and pleased with myself. I pulled myself out of the pool and rushed over to Kayla jumping up and down with the hyper girl, excited and pleased with the result. "OH this is going to be so much fun. I'll coach you every night, I have a pool. That means you'll have to come over almost every night, London. It'll be a blast. We can even host the team pool parties! I can be the organizer-" she continued on going into la la land about everything she could help and be involved in for the team. "You are a handful, you know that?" I asked laughing slightly at her. "Well that's why you have two hands, isn't it?" she countered. "Oh, I didn't realize my life was centered around holding you together," I said as sassily as I could, hoping that she knew it was a joke. Thankfully she did and one of her small fragile hands fluttered to her chest and held it against where her heart was. "I'm offended, and hurt. Right here London, right in the heart, you cut me so deep," I laughed again at her being so dramatic. "Stop being a drama queen, Kayla. Now I have to take a shower in the Locker room." She nodded and I followed the line of the other swim try-out girls to clean. I couldn't smell like chlorine for the rest of the day now could I? And thank goodness that Jordon was willing to drive home during lunch to pick up shower stuff and a towel for me. He was a life saver. The girls chit-chatted around me, creating a light hum in the air that made me feel relaxed, but I didn't join in not feeling the need to. I grabbed my stuff and headed for the shower hopping in and showering as quickly as possibly.  Just as I finished, wrapping a towel around me and heading for my clothes that sat on the bench outside the shower area, I heard several screams come from that area and a guy curse. THERE WAS A GUY IN HERE!!! A girl, her name was Autumn I think, came up to me shouting as fast as her mouth would allow her, "Hey you. Are you London?" I nodded frantically trying to look over her shoulder at the commotion. What was going on? "Like the one at war with Logan?" I stopped and looked at her, no one really knew about that. Of course every knew about the first prank Logan did to me at my locker, but they didn't know I was at war. "How do you know that?" I asked suspicious. "Oh well, I'm his friend Autumn, and believe me I've heard a lot of grumbling about you. But that doesn't matter," She waved a hand trying to focus her thoughts, "He's stealing you're clothes, right now!" "WHAT?!" I screamed, and shoving Autumn aside, a little guiltily I might add, I raced into the locker area my small towel only just covering my wet body. I swerved left and right and a few girls recognizing that those were my clothes in Logan's hands moved aside for me looking sorry. And there he was, in all his devilish magnificent glory, paused in the doorway, clutching my uniform shirt, pants, and sweater in his callused hands. At least I had thought to bring my sports b*a and underwear to the shower in case my towel slipped. I wasn't the type of girl to show off everything in the Locker room, while others, let's just say they were pretty confident. He must have known I was looking at him, because he turned around, eyeing up all the girls around him too as his eyes made their way towards me. At least those girls had their clothes on, but I felt n***d and like I didn't even have the skimpiest clothes covering me. locked my gaze with him and channeled all the possible hate I could, hopping to burn a hole through his thick skull. A guy did not simply steal a girl's clothes while she only had a towel, even if he looked good doing it. Damn where did that thought come from? Those thoughts had to stay far from my mind if I was going to think straight enough to beat him at his own game. I thought. Multiple girls shouted at him to get out, but he ignored them all, and they all knew they didn't stand a chance pushing him physically so they eventually quieted and he said the words he was dying to say. "Pay back's a b***h. And shaving cream in the eyes is not a pleasant sensation; it makes this totally worth it." His shook my clothes in his hand, gloating, and eyes gleaming he turned around and raced out the door. OH NO HE DID NOT. THAT SON OF A - "Here, you can wear my-" Autumn said coming up behind me offering me a shirt. But me being my stupid self didn't process her words and ignoring her offers, I followed walking out of the girl's locker room. I followed wearing nothing but a towel.
