Its that day of the year when Swasti was the most happiest.Why?Because it was the first day of the new academic session.A hard working,studious girl would get to see,feel and smell the new books.Morever,she would get to read them.Oh!thats the paradise for her. Swasti´s father,a physicis professor by profession,was the role model behind her studious nature.Since chilhood Swasti had seen her father solving physics numericals day and night.Might be the reason she only knew the world of numbers and letters.They had formed a cage around her,the barrier beyond which she didn't know anything. Swasti´s father´s college was nearby her school.So,her father always used to drop her and used to go to his college.Swasti was really excited to meet her friends after the academic break.After waving good bye to her father with good bye kiss she went straight to her class.But she forgot that she was now on new class.So,she went to class seven where she saw her juniors and releasized her silly mistake and went to find her new classroom.While wandering on the corridor looking up the classroom tag,her eyesight caught Suraksha her bestfriend waving her from the last room of the row. "Oh hello,you don't want to progress to class eight"shouted Shuraksha from far. "Sorry,in exicitment i went to other class."Swasti replied. "I know you dont remember anything else than the book.You book wormie.Do you remember me hmm??" "Shut up!!Stop this but lets go and see our new books". "Told you.You book wormie.Rather than the new book,there is another new thing coming which you must see.A new guy in the class" "No way,I have no time for this" "You got to.Because guess what??" "What?" "He is your new desk patner" This news amazed and shocked Swasti."Hell,no!!"she shouted."I want you as my partner" "Don´t you know the rule of the school.From eight standard you must share a desk with opposite gender.I also got to share my desk with some new dude Don´t know who?"explained Suraksha. "Looks like going to be a hard year for me"said Swasti in depressed voice."Do not worry,I only am next to your desk.So just chill".Suraksha tried to relax her. Don´t know how Swasti and Suraksha became friends but they were way apart.Suraksha was a bubbly girl,always curious wanting to know everything and geting along with all kind of people.Besides,Suraksha was also intelligent making full use of brain unlike Swasti whose source of knowledge was only books.Suraksha and Swasti were friends since chilhood and the intelligence of Suraksha might had impressed Swasti and that may be the reason Swasti had only one friend Suraksha. The news of new guys in the class and one being the desk partner of Swasti stirred her emotions.She started to feel something,the emotion that can't be described verbally or in words.She was little nervous and for the first time in her life her desk partner was going to be a boy that too a new guy.Is this the beginning of her new journey.What if the guy bully her or bookshame.How could she handle all those emotions?Or in other way,this may be the sign for breaking the barrier of numbers and letters.It may be the shade in the desert which she searched throughout her entire journey of life just to soak some sweet of loneliness.
