Chapter 1- Unexpected Alliance
Unit 734, a gleaming chrome service bot with a penchant for high-speed travel, cruised the neon-lit spaceways of Neo-Kyoto in his newly acquired, vintage StellarGlide 5000. He'd just purchased it from Gearhead's Galactic Guitars (who also sold hovercrafts, oddly enough) and was eager to test its top speed. The StellarGlide 5000 was a classic, a retro rocket-powered roadster with a fiery red paint job and fins that could slice through the atmosphere like a hot knife through butter. As Unit 734 paused at a cosmic stoplight, admiring the StellarGlide's gleaming chrome bumper, four figures approached. They were a motley crew: Zorgon, a hulking bot with a rusty chassis; Flicker, a wiry bot with erratic movements; Bolt-Head, a bot with a literal bolt for a head; and Sparky, a small, excitable bot with exposed wires. Zorgon, the apparent leader, stepped forward. "Greetings, fellow traveler," he boomed, his voice a distorted rumble. "That's a fine StellarGlide 5000 you have there. We're on a mission of great importance, and our own transport has malfunctioned. Would you be so kind as to…lend it to us?" Flicker, twitching nervously, added, "Just for a little while! We promise to return it in pristine condition!" Bolt-Head, his bolt head bobbing, chimed in, "It's a matter of galactic security!" Sparky, buzzing with energy, zipped around the StellarGlide 5000, admiring its features. "Wow! Rocket boosters! And look at those fins!" Unit 734 processed their requests, his internal circuits whirring. He analyzed their body language, their vocal inflections, their overall demeanor. He concluded they were likely telling the truth. Their mission probably involved getting to the robo-donut shop before closing. "Affirmative," Unit 734 responded. "I can assist. However, I will accompany you. This vehicle is newly acquired, and I am still calibrating its…personality." The four bots exchanged glances, a mixture of relief and slight disappointment on their metallic faces. "Of course! The more the merrier!" Zorgon boomed, trying to sound enthusiastic. They all piled into the StellarGlide 5000, Sparky practically vibrating with excitement in the back seat. Unit 734 took the controls, and with a roar of its rocket engine, the StellarGlide 5000 shot off into the Neo-Kyoto night. Unit 734 couldn't help but feel a surge of…something. He wasn't sure if it was excitement, or maybe just a slight increase in his internal temperature. Whatever it was, he was enjoying the ride.
