Thea's POV
Two weeks have already passed since the making of the boys and me calling Mac. Since then, dad would call now and then asking me when I am going to visit them. It was hard avoiding him to ask me to come back. While Mac, he promised to drive here to meet me. I was not a bit ready to face any of my family members. Well, for Edward, we have been working on our friendship and finally, he asked Liam out on a date.
I slumped down on my chair, gazing out of the window. Liam asked me to meet him up at the restaurant that was near his office. I came earlier than I was supposed to. Maybe that's because I am rotting in his apartment for almost three weeks with no job except cleaning the house, cooking and dropping by Steffane's book store.
I could see from the corner of my eyes, there were a couple cuddling with each other. I smiled at the sight. How lucky a person could get to be with their love. I am a sucker for all Disney and happily ever after shits. Cliche is totally my cup of tea.
"Are you even listening to what you are saying, Ed?" I chuckled listening to the bickering couple that took the seat in front of me.
"Baby, listen to me. I am sorry ok?" Edward took a seat, eyeing me asking for help.
"So, lover boy? What is the problem?" I mused.
"I smiled?" he shrugged.
"You were definitely flirting with her, Edward Joaquin." I cringed at how eerie Liam's voice sounded.
"She was my trainee. I just told her about the job, for God's sake. Help me, Thea," he huffed.
"Liam, he was just talking?" It came out more like a question that made Liam give the look 'I told you so'.
"You are not helping, Thea."
I giggled waving for the waiter. And ordered them both their foods. The waiter was cute. He smiled knowingly at me noticing how intense the situation was at the table. I just winked taking him by surprise. Liam cleared his throat breaking the waiter's gaze on me.
"Enough about us. Now, Thea, Ed wants to tell you something?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Well, I was wondering. If you were looking for a job?" he stammered a bit.
"Yeah, I could use a job for now. Is there a position in your department?"
"That how should I put it? Well, rental and yeah Marcus -" he paused, sitting back again straight "Would you be the rental girlfriend for Marcus?"
I blinked. Wait, what? I was baffled with his proposal. I scrunched my eyes. The waiter came back with our order placing them on the table. It was awfully quiet as both of them waited for me to speak.
"Thank you," I said to the waiter.
"Thea?" Liam called me.
"Is this a prank or a joke? Well, if it is then I am more than impressed by your creativity Ed." I sighed.
"No, this isn't a joke. Just let me explain."
I heard him spitting all the nonsense about some Marcus not wanting to get married. So who is this Marcus? I pinched myself waking myself up from the stance I was in. He was keen dead on saying that I was the perfect candidate and I would fool everyone.
"So are you asking me to sell myself to this person and lie to everyone around him and get paid? Is that it?" I demanded. My head was starting to spin at the proposal he just put forward.
"Thea, it's not like that. We just want to help Mar-" I cut him off with a wave.
"I will think about it. Not because of the money but because you are my friend. And a friend of Liam's or yours is a friend of mine." I sighed and dug into my lunch in silence.
"Thank you, pumpkin" Liam held my hand.
