Nagising ako dahil sa sinag ng araw. Napatingin ako sa orasan na nasa tabi ko at napahinga ng malalim.

“I really slept long huh,” sabi ko sa sarili ko.

I arrived at noon kahapon tapos ngayon lang ako nagising, it’s 5:50 AM. Ang taas ng tulog ko and to be honest, I felt great. Ramdam ko ang pagbalik ng magic molecules ko. Napahawak ako sa ulo ko tsaka ako bumangon. My uniform is ready already along with my accessories. It must be the butler’s preparation. Agad akong tumayo at dumeritso sa CR para maligo since may class pa kami ngayon and we have many things to catch up kasi halos isa at kalahating araw kaming wala. After I took a bath, I went out at nagbihis. Sinoot ko na ang scarf at iba pang accessories. Bago ako lumabas, tiningnan ko muna ang sarili ko salamin.

“I guess I’m good to go,” I whispered to myself at lumabas na ako.

I was expecting to see Kailani pero wala siya- this itself is alarming. Why the hell am I longing for his presence? Hindi ko na pinansin ang mga iniisip ko and I walked down the hallway papunta sa dining area. Bago pa man ako umabot doon, napatigil ako kasi nakita ko si Kailani sa labas. He was not wearing anything on his upper body while he was doing something- workout I guess? Hindi ako nagpatuloy sa paglakad at pinagmasdan lang siya. It’s been a while since we met accidentally, I wonder what I am up to right now if we haven’t met. Siguro tinutulongan ko pa rin si mama sa mga paninda niya or maybe I will be one of the strongest there when in fact mas marami ditong malalakas. I guess I should visit this weekend. Sana nga lang sumama sina Kali pero malabo iyon. Kali is the crowned prince so most probably, hindi siya papayagan.

“Baka matutunaw ako niyan,” biglang sabi ni Kailani na nasa malapit na kasi tapos na siya. Napaatras ako at umiwas ng tingin.

“I was thinking of something else, dumbass,” sabi ko at tumalikod. “Magbihis ka na doon, may class pa tayo,” sabi ko at umalis na ako at kahit palayo na ako, rinig ko pa rin ang tawa niya.

Nauna akong kumain sa dining area at nakarating rin naman siya after a couple of minutes. Tumabi siya sa akin at kinain ang nakahandang pagkain para sa kanya. It’s the usual breakfast naman at nabusog naman ako kahit papaano. The maids and butlers even provided us some lunch na dadalhin namin sa school kasi nga daw baka may food poison or ano pa and even vitamins. They really care for Kailani a lot, nakikisapaw nga lang ako. Well, it’s not like nakikisapaw lang talaga, I cared for him as well. I promised to protect him so I will.

After we ate, agad naman kaming umalis and Kailani took my lunch with his and opened that portal that I saw before kung saan niya nilagay ang mga gamit ko dati. I didn’t really decline kaya nagpatuloy kami sa paglabas. We still have the carriages na mula kay Kali kaya iyon pa rin ang ginamit namin papunta sa school. As usual, the roads are busy and filled with sorts of people. It was fun to see, para bang walang nangyayaring masama sa mundong ito.

When we arrived at school, lumabas kaagad kami sa carriage namin at nakita namin sina Kali na papasok rin. Nakita naman kaagad kami ni Nieve at ngumiti siya sa amin. Jeez, Nieve, hindi ko alam kung anong klaseng ngiti yan. The last time I checked, you were cold as hell. Wala akong choice kaya ngumiti pabalik. Lumapit sila sa amin and of course we greeted each other. Napatigil bigla ang mga studyante at nakatingin sa iisang direction, syempre napatingin rin kami. Well, it was Gin and Tempest. They saw us and they paused on us and greeted us so we did as well. Whispers were heard everywhere tungkol sa mga rumors kagaya ng isa na kami sa contenders para sa Mahika Tournament but it’s not entirely true, we are nominated but not selected. It makes a difference.

“Mauna na kami,” Tempest said at naglakad silang dalawa palayo but then Gin stopped kaya napatigil rin si Tempest.

“Today is mission day so good luck with your first- I mean second mission,” he said at napatigil ako. Mission na naman? What again?! “Don’t worry, freshmens are assigned to get rare stuff, not Pandora Boxes but in your case, you might have the hardest since you four had the experience already,” he added at napahinga kami ng malalim. And here I thought tapos na iyon tapos nakuha ko na ulit ang magic molecules ko pero ito pa paala.

“Wow, thanks for that,” Kali said at napahawak sa ulo niya.

“Well then, see you around,” Gin said at naglakad na muli sila palayo. Nagtinginan kaming apat at halatang hindi namin gusto ang narinig namin but we have no choice. We chose this path after all.

We arrived at the room at may studyante naman pero hindi pa marami. Napatigil lang kami nang may makita kaming sulat sa board. It was names of everyone assigned to a specific mission. One team consist 6 members but what caught my attention is my team na apat lang kami and yes, kaming apat lang. The other team had six members pero bakit sa amin apat lang?

“U-Um,” one of the student said and handed us a folder. “I-I-I’m the selcted Class Representative of our classroom a-and this is your team’s assigned mission, Your Highness,” he added at kinuha naman ito ni Kailani.

“Bakit apat lang kami?” I asked.

“The team is not divided by our professors, right? I bet kami na lang apat kasi kami nalang ang natira?” Kailani asked. If that’s the case, how cruel. The Class Representative did not answer at umiwas lang siya ng tingin. Then I guess Kailani was right. “Well, we don’t mind,” Kailani added at kinuha ang hawak ni Kali.

“A-After reading, you may go the Principal’s office to get his signature at pwede na po kayong umalis para sa mission,” he replied and we nodded.

“How about we’ll decide things here first?” I asked at kinuha ulit ni Kali ang hawak niya kanina mula kay Kailani.

“Of course,” he said at naglakad siya palabas kaya sumunod kami.

Pumunta kami sa cafeteria at doon naming napagsunduan na pag-usapan ang magiging mission namin. Kali opened the given folder and he suddenly froze. Nieve peeked and he froze as well. What? Is it bad? Is it really bad?!

“Stop making those faces,” reklamo ni Kailani at kinuha naman ang folder. He read it nabigla ako nang tumawa siya. What is it now?!

“You think that’s funny, Kailani?!” reklamo ni Kali.

“It really is,” sagot naman ni Kailani at binigay sa akin ang folder. I took it at binasa ang sulat nito.

‘Find the scarlet stone in Gambier Island. Mission will last for 7 days, good luck’

“Oh,” sabi ko at napatingin ako kay Kali. “I think I’m going home then,” sabi ko at ngumiti.

“Going to Gambier Island is another but hindi iyan ang main concern ko! That scarlet stone is a heart! We’re not going to find some dragons scales now but a dragon heart!!” sigaw ni Kali.

“Then I guess I’m gonna at home then,” sabi ko at mas lumaki ang tawa ni Kailani.

“This is insane,” Nieve said habang umiiling. We’ve met a dragon before and we struggled to get one scale, how much more if it’s a heart?

“Mas gusto ko pang magsara ng Pandora’s Box, seryoso,” Kali said.

“Kahit S Class?” tanong ko and glanced at me with a confused stare.

“Doon na tayo sa Gambier Island, tara.” Kali said at naunang tumayo.

This mission is a blessing in disguise.
