Xavier's POV "Xavier, please go to your Aunt Amber's house with your Granny," mum murmured sweetly as she placed the tray of goodies on my table. Argh, I'm not going to Aunt Amber's house. It's not that I dislike her; it's just that it's been awkward since Sheena Aunt Amber's daughter proposed to me and I declined. I haven't seen her in any capacity other than that of a sister. So I told her the truth: I don't like her in that regard. She was upset, but she understood what I was going through. Mom brushed my hair and interrupted my thoughts with, "Xavier, are you listening to me?" Maya Reynold, my mother, is now a successful businesswoman with a wonderful wife, mother, and human being. I've often wished for a life mate who is similar to my mother. "Yes, mother. I'm going to leave Granny and go to my boxing practise "I said this while I typed on my laptop. "All right, my son," she said as she spoon-fed me the sweet she had prepared. I enjoyed her Indian cuisine as well. I put my boxing gloves in my bag and put on my jacket. As a result, I dropped my Granny off at Aunt Amber's place and proceeded to my boxing club. It improves my endurance and concentration. Like my father, Zack Reynold, I have to be the best in whatever I do. He is a New York City billionaire businessman. Everyone looks up to him as an example. I made dad proud by following in his footsteps. Even though he was a busy guy, he always made time for his family and was there for them in good times and bad. He's like one of my other best friends. I entered the boxing club and made my way to the locker room. I removed my jacket and shirt and replaced them with my boxer and mask. Jason, my best friend, suddenly appeared beside me, panting fiercely. "Coach Rox has summoned you to the ring," he added. I stepped out of the locker room after handing him the water bottle. I heard Jason call my name, but I was so enthusiastic for the boxing match that I didn't waste any time and walked straight to the ring. As my gaze rested on the ring, I noticed a stunning young lady with braided hair, a tight polyster full top, and boxing gloves standing in the ring. Her deep brown eyes, arch eyebrows, and plump lips, which form a delicious drop on her face, add to her beauty. "Reynold, you have to fight this girl," my coach, Rox, remarked grumpily. He is a surly and short-tempered individual, yet he is an excellent teacher. My jaw fell as I realised I'd have to fight the girl. "I wouldn't fight a girl," I grumbled. We had a disagreement, but he was so adamant that he ordered me to fight her. Her lovely lavender scent flooded my nostril as I walked into the boxing ring. I was mesmerised because she smelt so good. As her eyes smoothen, we lock gazes, but she hides it behind her rage. Before the fight, she extended her hand for a shake. As our hands collided, a jolt of current was produced in my body, making my heart beat quicker as if I were giving an exam. Rox started the battle by blowing a loud whistle. She attempted an upper punch but failed. Her movements were flawless, as if she had been fighting or training for years. She attempted the downward punch once more, but this time she failed. Although she is skilled in boxing, she is not as skilled as I am. I'm not going after her just because she's a woman. It's against my ideals, yet I'm standing here because of a coach order. Her every move was quick and effective in breaking the opponent's bones. I was about to leap to avoid being punched by her. She slammed a strong punch into my face, blurring my eyesight. She seized the opportunity and began pounding me in the stomach and face. I collapsed to the ground after stumbling on my feet. She came to a halt in the middle of her punch and did not strike me. In fact, she extended her hand and assisted me in regaining my balance. She is not only a brave girl for fighting against a boy like me, but she is also an excellent fighter. "Stop," Rox shouted as he walked into the boxing ring. He patted my arms, and when I gasped in pain, he laughed. "You impress me," he remarked, averting his glance from her. "You can come as early as tomorrow and pick your opponent." "Hmm," she hummed as she thanked him and walked out of the ring, picking up her purse from the ground. She exited the nightclub without saying anything. Her deep brown eyes reveal the amount of pain she was carrying inside her. Her touch, her face, her glance piqued my interest in her. She didn't smile when Coach complimented her; instead, she bolted. What is her name? What brought her here? Why didn't she grin like the other girls? Rox coach's voice froze my thoughts as these questions ran through my mind "Reynold, I understand why you didn't attack and counter back her, but if you had, you would have won. She would have beaten you to a pulp in that case as well." I nodded in agreement that Rox had been amazed by her in one bout. It's difficult to impress him after 10 fights, but I've managed to do so and received his approval. Jason handed me the water bottle and a towel as I exited the boxing ring. "Man, she hit you so hard," he teased. I squinted my eyes and tossed the towel in his direction. "Just shut up, Jason," I snarled. He retrieved my luggage from the locker and handed it to me along with my jacket. I put on my coat and walked to my car. We sat in the car and fastened our seat belts. I was humiliated by the fact that I was beaten up by a girl. It's not that I think less of them, but the other males are going to make it a huge thing for me. "Dude, tomorrow is the fresher's party in the Mendes mansion," Jason said, gazing at his phone.
