Sera's POV.
I swiftly opened my eyes in a confined chambers. Snapshots of my dreams came flooding my mind, I saw Dravon become my mate. Where would he put Cyrene? I came to reality of my normal life.
The healer dropped the bowl of herbs on the desk beside me, bringing back my consciousness. Dravon sat opposite and some maids stood aside, with their heads low.
The scent filled with star fruit, cinnamon and an unfamiliar aroma. The curtains draped smoothly, the colour casted warmth and enchanted reflection. Massaging and cooling my nerves. The foam was soft and cool, the glass cups kettle all adorned the designs. I felt relieved.
My eyes ached, I couldn't feel my limbs. Hands empty and shaky. My vision darkened. My neck cracked as I turned.
"What am I doing here?" I asked Kael.
"You slumped and collapsed. As a result of fighting. You were blabbing at the verge of collapsing." Cyrene sharply said before Kael could breathe.
"Take things easy lady Cyrene." Kael cut her off. Glancing at her.
In a blink, the door yanked open. Dravon approached, his face serious.
"Kael. Can I get an explanation?" He folded his hands behind.
"Lady Cyrene and this lady in question are squabbling. Upon your absence, the argument triggered, when I arrived. She was questioned, then she slumped and collapsed."
Dravon stepped forward, before Kael could finish talking. He felt my forehead, unaware of my consciousness. He smoothed my bang.
His touch was warm and gentle. I fully flared my eyes. Dravon helped me sit and leaned my back against him.
"Are you fine?" He cupped my forehead looking straight in my eyes. He poured a glass of water into my mouth.
The air changed, Kael's eyes skitted over us. Cyrene's eyes shrunk to the size of a strand of hair. Her face brimming with jealousy and annoyance. She tried hiding, but so visible.
Her lips remained sealed. But her eyes said everything. "Dravon showed so much care and affection he had not shown to me.." I read her expression.
He remained unconcerned still.
"Dravon, I have something important to discuss with you." Cyrene moved closer trying to distract him.
Dravon found it difficult leaving touch with me. He went silent for a second, slowly withdrawing his touch.
"Your name?" Dravon asked me.
"I am Seraphina."
"Sera…." He dragged his tone. "Your name sounds important."
The mate bond ignited a picture of who Seraphine might be.
"Are you a Luna?" Dravon asked.
"No I am not." I answered.
Cyrene's presence made me feel uncomfortable. I got uncomfortable whenever I saw her, not to talk of Dravon ignoring her because of me.
"Dravon. You heard me right."
"Moment. Sera just fainted. Her well-being is at hand." He side glanced Cyrene.
Her face boiled in anger. "Go clean the library. Your senses should have notified you." She shouted at the maids standing apart, who left the room.
A servant approached with a bowl of spicy chicken.
"Here my lady." She bowed and turned to leave.
"Halt." Dravon called her back gesturing with his hands. "A bowl of chicken is not enough to recover. Get her blood tonic, plate of steamed buns. They are filled with carbohydrates. It will help her recover."
"Yes my lord. At your service." She bowed half of her body.
"Assign six servants to her quarters. I want them here."
Cyrene felt intimidated by Dravon's affection towards me. She purposely stood still to see what her alpha is up to.
Her face read… is he going to f**k her? Or romance her?
"My Lord. It's no big deal." I said trying to get on my feet.
"No it is some big deal. You can't do all things alone. You need maids to help. You look pale and tired." He pat my back as I coughed out. "Devour your bowl of chicken." He urged me to.
I masticated an ounce of chicken. The peppery taste sent a jolt to my muscles. I felt my awakening spirit and usual self.
Sooner the servants arrived. All paying their respects.
"We have lady Seraphine in our kingdom. Here is her quarters. She's weak and will be spending time here until I figure out who she is. I want you all to pay respect to her and serve her like yours." Dravon commanded them as he stood.
"All ears, sir." They bowed to him.
"At your service my lady." They paid respect to me.
Dravon walked out of the room not considering Cyrene, Kael followed.
"Sera. I don't care where you are coming from. I also don't care who you are." She pinched my chin lifting my face up. "I don't want you near Valdrakon's alpha. Stay away from him at all costs." She pushed me to the bed.
She clicked her tongue, making sounds and left the room.
The sunsets, evening came. The room was golden, warm and nostalgic. I regained my strength, I felt energetic. Weird, a transition was about to occur.
I waited seconds after she left, I ran out of the room. Embracing and admiring the golden hour. The air scented differently. Went to the gazebo, cherished the blossom and flower bliss.
Noticed footsteps after me.
"Why the follow?" I rolled my eyes at my servants.
"Lady Sera. We are the servants assigned to you my lady. It's our duty to keep an eye on you and protect you."
"Can you spare me for a second to have my space and breath?" I spoke to them warmly with a smile.
"No my lady, we can't, if we do. Dravon might kill us." They said timidly.
"Arghhhh! Don't worry he would never find out. If he does. I would take accountability."
I raced to the garden. Darkness began to fall. My nails slowly elongated. My fur grew thick and abundant. My vision sharper enough to see the moon that hasn't shown.
My spine shifted to a sharp pointed one, I grew taller, a long tail forced itself out. Curvy and hairy.
A spark ignited.
