David and Mark were sat in their shared office, working hard to keep the dealership running as smooth as possible. Customers came in left right and centre. Ready to either buy a new car, or, have their own car, maintenance checked and kept road safe. David had his life friend, Mark, working for him as a manager. Mark made sure that David’s business ran smoothly, financially, respectively, and upholding the company reputation that David had built up over the years. David had his thriving dealership called “Trent’s motors”. David and Mark were both of the same age, both mid 30’s, and they have been working together for at least 6 years now. David was a single man, and was hopeful of finding his true love one day, he would go to the bars of an evening and see who he could meet, but know one ever stuck with him. Mark on the other hand is a divorcee, his wife Tara upped and left him and his 3 young girls 7 years ago, so Mark wasn’t bothered about hitching up again. However, David keeps encouraging him to go out, and find himself a young woman to be happy with, but Mark was more then happy to just bring up his girls, and devote his time to them, and no one else. With customers flowing in and out the dealership, David decided that it was time he took a coffee break. So he got up from his desk, walked out of the office, across the forecourt, weaving his way through the valeted cars, out the front door and crossed the road towards a small cafe, called “Jenn’s”. He walked in through the front door, walked straight to the counter and asked the waitress for 2 takeaway coffees. As David stood patiently, with his debit card in his hand, he looked around the cafe. David noticed in the corner of the cafe, that there was a young blonde business woman, sat at the table, reading a book and next to her was an empty cup. David decided to brave going over to talk to her. Feeling hot under the collar, David walked over to where she was sat, he asked “can i get you another drink? The lady looked up and a smile gleamed from her rosy cheeked face. She replied “yes please, a tea would be nice”. Relieved he didn’t get the cold shoulder, David went back to the counter and asked “can i have a cup of tea, for table 6 please? As the waitress made his 2 take away coffees, she also past over a mug of hot fresh tea. David paid his way for the drinks. He collected his tea and coffees, went over to give the young lady her tea, and asked the lady “do you mind if I join you?” The lady smiled a gleaming smile again and told him “i can hardly accept a drink off a man and then not allow him to join me”. So David smiled with glee, and sat with the young blonde business lady. David felt awkward when he asked “ what’s your name?” The lady put her book down and told David “I’m Lucy Nicolson, what’s yours?” David held his hand out for a greeting hand shake and replied “I’m David Trent, it’s nice to meet you”. David was determined to not let the conversation die, so he asked “so where are you from? Lucy took a swig of her tea and replied “ I live around the corner, I’m just getting ready to start work”. David continued his interrogation “where do you work?” Lucy explained “I’m a solicitor, I own Nicolson solicitor’s, it’s the big building down the road”. Surprised that he has made a break through with such an eltrpanur, David said “wow, that’s amazing”, in complete shock. Lucy asked David “can we play a little game?” Intrigued David accepted her game. Lucy bargained “if i can guess what you do for a living, what would you give me as a reward?” Excited by this prospect David replied “I’ll take you out for dinner tomorrow night”. Lucy had a cheeky smile on her face and took his hand, she closed her eyes and played “you’re the owner of a car dealership, called Trent’s motors, and you work with you best friend Called Mike”. Realising she had made a mistake Lucy corrected herself by saying “no sorry Mark”. Shocked by what she said David asked Lucy “what? How’d you know that?” Lucy stood up and walked around the table to him , lent down to his ear and whispered “it’s a kind of magic”. Lucy stood up straight and walked towards the cafe door, David shouted to her “I’ll meet you outside here at 7pm tomorrow then?” Lucy opened the cafe door with a huge smile of approval. David grabbed his coffees and ran out after her, as he opened the door with his coffees in his hand, he couldn’t see which way Lucy went. So with a joy in his step he rushed back over to his office to tell Mark the news. As David entered the office with both coffees still in his hand, Mark was just finishing off a phone call, David placed Marks coffee on Marks desk and started to drink his own, dying to boast to Mark about the girl he had just pulled. David sat on his desk with a big grin on his face staring Mark down to come off the phone. Eventually Mark finished his phone call and asked “why are you like a giddy school boy?” David exclaimed “I am like a giddy school boy, that’s why” David continued to explain to Mark “over at Jenn’s cafe, there was this gorgeous young lady called Lucy, she’s blonde beautiful figure, lovely personality, and I’m taking her out for a meal tomorrow”. Chuffed to bits David proudly sat in his chair at his desk while he drank his coffee, Mark asked out of curtesy “so what does she do for a living then?” David told him “she owns Nicolson solicitor’s” Disapproving, Mark told David “you aught to be careful with solicitor’s they’re untrustworthy”. David didn’t believe a word Mark was saying and turned a blind eye to his criticism. David picked up the phone and started dialling a number, He said down the receiver “good afternoon, I would like to book a table for tomorrow night a 7.30pm for 2 people please” David paused a while and sighed in relief “thank you very much, good bye”. David slapped and rubbed his hands with joy, before exclaiming “right back to work”. As David trolled through his online accounts, he started to notice a few things weren’t quite right, as he was looking down the statement list, he noticed so monies were missing, and not accounted for. David started getting a bit adjitated by his findings, but was very cautious with what he had found. David wanted to confront Mark about the situation , but felt he would be better off investigating the situation on the sly, before he made any accusations. As David investigated more and more in depth, the statements and information, it became apparent that he was being robbed, as he took more files and paperwork, his eyes started opening to the fact that Mark could be the only culprit, as he, other then David has access to the business accounts. As the day slowly came to a close, David decided to play it cool, and keep it from Mark, that he was potentially onto him, for steeling his money. Both the men locked the doors to the dealership and started making their own way home, David walked around the corner to his house. Meanwhile Mark jumped into his brand new BMW, and drove home. Finally David arrived home, but he could not shake the feeling that his best friend for life has betrayed him, he tried to take his mind off of the horrible feeling, and started thinking about what a brilliant day he had today. David went into the kitchen, and made himself some dinner and a cup of tea. It seemed that Lucy had cast a spell on him, as he could not get her off his mind. Meanwhile, Mark was just pulling up onto his drive, he parked the car, picked up his stuff, and got out the car and walked to the front door. He opened the door when all he heard from the kitchen was “DADDY!!” Marks 3 young girls came running from the kitchen and hugged Mark tight. Louise, the next door neighbours teenage daughter. Babysits the girls for Mark for some pocket money, so Mark can work until 5pm every night. Louise is an outgoing and energetic young girl who loves kids. When Mark walked into the kitchen, all of the girls school homework equipment was set out on the table. Mark asked “Have they done their homework?” Louise replied “yes, it’s all done, they’ve eaten all their tea too”. A grateful Mark walked with Louise to the front door with his youngest Emma in his arms, Louise joked with Emma “bye bye smelly, be good. I’ll see you tomorrow, ok”. Louise played and messed around more before leaving to walk down the drive to her own house. Mark was now feeling tired, so he cuddled up with the girls, on the sofa to watch a film before going to bed for the night.
