A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.

The following day, David arrived at the dealership, ready to start a long hard day if work, excited for this evening’s dinner date with Lucy. But as David arrived, the doors were already unlocked and open, David was surprised, as he is usually the first one at the office. As he walked down through the forecourt, he noticed a distressed and panicked Mark, in the office on the phone arguing with someone, and from what he could hear of the conversation Mark was begging. David walked into the office, and Mark told the person on the other end “I need to go”, and quickly hung up the phone. David asked, “is everything ok”? Mark sat silently. while thinking of away to talk to David. But he chickened out of the situation and told David everything was fine, with an unsure fake smile on his face. As the day drawled on, things became a bit frosty between Mark and David. The suspicious David tried to talk to a very panicky Mark throughout the day, but Mark was having none of it, and became very snappy. David was just about to loose his patience with Mark when he saw Lucy walking up through the forecourt towards his office. David soon forgot about what he was going to tell Mark, but he became easily distracted by Lucy, so he rushed to the office door and let Lucy in. With a great big gleaming smile, David asked “what are you doing here?” Lucy smiled and asked I was wondering if we could go for lunch now instead of dinner, I’ve got things I need to do this evening?” David overjoyed that she didn’t cancel on him, they gazed into each others eyes, but David diverted away and told Mark “Mark this is Lucy, Lucy this is Mark”. Mark lent over his desk to shake Lucy’s hand, and Lucy returned the greet, as they connected hands, Lucy was firm and didn’t let go easily, so Mark awkwardly pulled his hand from her grasp. Lucy’s smile dropped, as though she knew something about Mark, and the trust and likeness was not there. David interrupted the awkward moment and asked Mark “will you be ok if I shoot for an early lunch?” With a confirming smile Mark told David “that’s fine enjoy yourselves”. David held Lucy’s hand gently, raised her hand to his lips and gently gave a warm loving kiss to her hand. Mark wasn’t to impressed and told them to go away. Like a couple of school children that had left school early, Lucy and Mark walked out of the office and towards the dealership doors. They hopped into David’s car and left for the restaurant. Pleased that they were on their way to their first date, David took her to his favourite fancy French restaurant. As they walked through the fancy gold plated doors into the restaurant, the waiter took their coats and hung them behind the counter, and led them to their table, as they followed the waiter to the table, Lucy looked around in complete amazement at the grand stature of the place. The food looked fresh and divine and the wine looked prestigious and very expensive. They both sat down and started prosing the menu, David told Lucy “have what ever you want”. When the food came, it was all fine dine food. They ordered the sea food platter for starter, then scallops for mains, but by the time they had eaten all of the starter and main, they had no room for desserts. Lucy looked at David, and she noticed that he looked lost in thought. Lucy asked “am i boring you?” As she swigged her red wine. David giggled and replied “oh, I’m sorry, it’s just Mark’s”. Changing his mind and stopping himself before he said too much. Lucy grabbed his hands and told him “if something’s wrong, please tell me, i maybe able to help”? David looked at her pretty face and blonde tied back wavy hair and apologized, and he continued “I think Mark, is stealing from me”. Lucy was shocked with his accusation, and David continued to say “I noticed yesterday that the accounts don’t quite add up, and things look like they’ve been deleted”. Lucy put her solicitors hat on and told him “you can’t approach him until you have the evidence to back you up, and are you sure of your suspicion?” A confused David replied “I don’t know”. They both finished their lunch and started to get ready to leave the restaurant. They both walked up to the counter, and David had asked to pay for their bill, he took his wallet from his trouser pocket and took out his debit card. The waiter gave him the card machine and David placed his card in and entered his pin. The machine came back “Declined”. Taken back by this miss-hap, David tried again. Again the card came back “Declined”. David was embarrassed and shocked that this was happening. Lucy asked “do you want me to pay.” Determined not to look the fool, he took another card from his wallet, he placed it into the machine and entered his other pin, but again the machine said “Declined” David was left completely embarrassed and ashamed, so Lucy ended up paying the £155 bill for their lunch and drinks. As they both walked out of the restaurant, David apologized to Lucy repeatedly. Lucy told him “don’t worry, do what you need too. Can i suggest, maybe go home. And deal with Mark tomorrow, BUT, don’t confront him without evidence”. David agreed, they both gave each other a warm kiss and hug before they departed their separate ways. David arrived back at the dealership and walked into the office and acted like everything was ok. David asked Mark “are you alright?” Mark replied “all good on the home front, how was lunch?” David told Mark “it was good, a bit embarrassing at the end when both my cards declined so Lucy ended up footing the bill”. David was very disappointed and upset, so he decided to finish early and follow Lucy’s advice. A few hours later, with David gone home early, the time came for the dealership to close their doors for the night. Mark had already sent the workshop and salesmen home, so it was down to him to lock up the doors and secure the site. Mark climbed into his car and started to drive home, but what he didn’t realise was that he was being followed. As Mark pulled up to his drive gates, he pushed a button and the gates opened. Mark drove up the drive and parked the car, turned the engine off and exhaustedly got out the car, and started walking towards his front door. He opened the front door to the usual 3 girls running towards him with excitement that Daddies home. Louise the baby sitter said “all the usual is done, i need to go, can’t hang tonight, dreaded parents evening tonight”. Mark sat in the arm chair, as he heard Louise walking down the corridor to the front door. He heard Louise open the door, he then heard her mumbling to someone as though she was speaking to someone. It was then, that Louise shouted through to Mark, telling him there was a young lady at the door. Mark got up out of the armchair, and went to go to see who it was. As he approached the door, he recognised the face of the person. Louise said “I’ll see you later”. The person watched as she walked past, they then turned to Mark and said, “hello, Mark”. Mark asked, “ I’m sorry do i know you?” the person replied “Lucy, David introduced us earlier, I hope you don’t mind, I saw you walk in, and I wondered if you had time for a chat?” Mark was pleased to see her. As he replied, “yes of course come in”. Emma was one of Marks daughters, and she asked “who is she daddy?” “A friend of uncle David’s”, Mark replied. Lucy huffed and whispered “hmm uncle”. Mark heard her whisper but didn’t hear what it was she said. Mark told all 3 girls to go upstairs so him and Lucy can have a chat, so they did just that. Lucy sat in Marks armchair and stated “cute girls”. Mark smiled, agreed and asked “coffee?” Lucy answered “yes please, black no sugar”. Mark made the coffees, and sat on the sofa, on the other side of the room and asked “so what can i do for you”? Lucy sat back in the chair and crossed her nylon covered, skirted legs, and said bluntly “what i don’t understand is how can you let your daughters call David uncle, when your robbing the poor man blind?” Shocked and disgusted with her accusation, Mark asked in fury “how dare you, accuse me of such thing’s, when you don’t even know me”. Mark rushed up in frustration, and charged towards the front door, all the while Lucy is still sat in the armchair in the living room, watching as Mark stormed down the corridor. Mark flung open the door in anger and shouted at Lucy “get out of my house!” Lucy sat confidently, as she flicked her hand, and made the front door fly out of Marks hand, causing the door to slam shut. Fear ran through Marks body, as he turned to see her looking out at him, while she was still sat in the armchair. “Come here, we’ve not finished our conversation”. Lucy demanded from the living room. Mark became shaken with fear, and refused to go in, all he could do was think about was his girls upstairs, so he went to leg it to the stairs, but as he got to the foot of the stairs, all gravity left Marks body, as he became light as a feather. Mark had no control over his own body and floated into the living room, where Lucy was still sat in the armchair, with her hand up at Mark. As Mark asked “what’s going on, what was that?” Lucy put her hand down, making Mark fall to the floor with a slam. Lucy stood up and stood over him with a domineering power about her, as she crouched down to his level and told him “I’m your worst nightmare”. As Lucy stood up again she asked “why are you robbing your best friend, David knows what your up too, but doesn’t know how to approach you, but he doesn’t know, that I know”. Mark looked up at her, while she stood over him, and asked “how’d you know?” Lucy crouched back down to Mark and told him “I’m telepathic. I saw your whole plan when we shook hands this morning”. Lucy went back to the arm chair and sat back down. Meanwhile still in pain, Mark stood to his feet and told Lucy “you know nothing”. He demanded in rage, “get out of my house!” Lucy smiled an evil grin, as she held her hand towards Mark and force choked him into the air. As Mark was held under her power, Lucy stood again and told Mark “if you don’t tell David you’re lying to him, the consequences will be severe”. Lucy dropped Mark again to the floor, but as he fell, his daughter, Emma, ran into his aid crying. “DADDY!” she exclaimed as she heard the thud on the floor. Mark sat cuddling Emma as he was trying to desperately get her out of the way and to safety. But Lucy had other ideas. Lucy froze Emma to the spot, turned to Mark and told him “you’ll tell David tomorrow, your life depends on it”. Mark retaliated by saying “and what if i tell him about you, your lying to him, you evil, deceitful demon”. As punishment for his outburst, Lucy started force choking Emma, as Emma fell to the floor desperate for breath, Mark begged and pleaded with Lucy “please stop your hurting her, please, I won’t say anything, please, stop”. Lucy called his bluff and told him “your only saying that because I’m hurting your daughter”. Mark pleaded again “I’m not. Please, i won’t tell a soul and i will come clean with David, please stop”. Lucy released Emma from her crushing magic powers, crouched down to Mark, and threatened “you better or the consequences will be severe, you haven’t seen a portion of what I’m capable of yet. Trust me”. Lucy stood back up, ready to walk away, leaving Mark and Emma on the floor, Mark shouted to Lucy asking, “Lucy what are you”? Lucy turned to him, and told him “I’m a witch and you don’t want to get on the wrong side of me”. Lucy turned and started to walk down the corridor and opened the front door, but to prove her power she clenched her hand, doing this made everything in the hallway explode into a million small pieces. As Lucy smiled an evil grin, she stormed out the door, slamming it with her powers. All the while Mark sat hugging Emma, for comfort and piece of mind that she is now safe.
