My dear, late brother comes to mind first: the great Gerard Ascariot. Though he was once a man with great ingenuity and is in part an establisher of the Centennial Shipping yard—which served as a springboard into my admirable career—he was also a man skewed. Skewed by the dream of immortality many lesser minds find in child rearing. With a mind thus polluted, he abandoned the growing majesty of the company and suggested his deranged son have a larger part in its workings.
