CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE. It had been a week since Luca last saw and heard from Melissa. She'd isolated herself to her room, no one but Clarissa allowed into the room with her meals. She didn't speak with anyone who knocked on her doors and Clarissa had told him that she stayed on her bed constantly, without even speaking to the only person who entered her room. She'd completely shut out all human interactions and Luca was pained to say that he was one of those she easily cut off. He'd even sent her a handwritten note through Clarissa.
