CHAPTER THREE I, Faro, document our arrival on this plant we call Urth. I must preserve our history in this crude manner, as our new home has not yet developed enough to support the systems on our ships. I fear the power of the ships may falter before I find a way to keep the power generated. Upon our approach this planet appears larger than our home world. It appeared to have a variety of lands and oceans. We have landed in the northern hemisphere. The planet is much closer to its sun than we are accustomed to and we seek shelter during the day from its heat. The inhabitants we have encountered are friendly enough.
