Chapter nine - Perfect dress

2100 Words
Melanie's POV: It's time for me to find a wedding dress. The only thing I know about this is the color. I was thinking about adding green to it, but I gave up. It will be too much. There is another thing that I have to decide. I don't want to have the puffiest dress in the world or the smallest one. Mom would love to come with me. The thing is that I want to do this alone. This will be my moment. Only a few things are left for us to do about the wedding. Jordan and I gave our invitations to everyone. No one was complaining about them. His mom liked the design. She said she would put it in a photo frame. We can take photos and send them to everyone who is on them. My other idea was to take a picture of us. Then, I will put it in a frame. That way, everyone will receive it. These are the small details that Jordan and I have to discuss. We can use the photo booth that I planned to make. Maybe I can use the altar for that. It will have angel wings on the side. There is no need for another place. I might use this for the coffee shop. People can take pictures when they come to the store. Sadly, I don't think many people will do it. This is not a good idea. I will think of something else. I have too many things in my head. I hope that picking my wedding dress won't take me much time. Today I will choose my wedding dress. I am excited about this. I want it to be something in my style. Last night, I looked at some pictures online while Jordan was in the shower. I would love for him to help me, but he can't see the dress. Well, I have a vision about it. This doesn't mean I won't try white dresses. I'm sure if I like the design of one of them, they can change the color. This will be the easiest part. I want to have the perfect dress for my wedding. Currently, I am getting ready to go out. Cassie will open the coffee shop today. I gave her the keys yesterday. I will join her later. Jordan already left for work. He wanted to take me to the wedding dress store, but I refused. I won't give him a chance to see what I might choose. When I was ready, I went out. He left me the car so I can put the dress there when I take it. I will leave it at home when I finish with my tasks. - Hello. - Hi. - Today is the day. I'm here for a dress. - I'm glad to hear this. Do you have a vision and a budget? - Yes. I was thinking between two and five thousand. Is that possible? - Of course. What do you want it to be? - Something like this. I put a couple of pictures here. - I said and gave the woman my phone - I see. I think we have something similar. To understand that the color will be black. - Yes. Is it possible if I like the design of a white dress, the same thing can be done in black? - Sure. You can take your phone. - Thanks. - Come with me. I have some things to show you. - Great. - Are you alone? - Yes. I want my dress to be a surprise for everyone. - I'm sure they will like it. - I hope so. - This is the first option. It might be a bit too big. - You mean puffy. - I said, chuckling - Yes. - she said, and we laughed - I don't mind as long as this is adjustable. I won't survive a whole day in this. - You can try it and tell me what you think. - For sure. - This is the second one. It looks more silky and casual. - It's not that bad, but I liked the first one more. - In that case, I can offer you this. It's white, but we can always turn it black. I'm showing it to you because of the design. - This is pretty. I like it. - Good. I have two more that will fit your style. This is the first one. - It's perfect. I never thought about a laced and open back, but I love it. - That is the other one. It has an open back again, but it's not that big. - I think I found the dress already, but I will try all of them. - Great. Let's go. I tried every dress. My eyes were on the fourth one. The laced back was perfect. I don't know how I never thought of this. It looks so good. The best part is that it fits me perfectly. It will match my shoes. - I found the dress. - Laces? - Yes. I want this one. I don't care how much it costs. - I said, and she laughed - It's three thousand dollars. - Take my money. I bought the dress and went home to leave it. Later, I went to the coffee shop. I left the car at home. I texted Jordan, but he said he didn't need it. A walk will be good for me. From now on until the wedding, we'll go home together. I want to make sure that he won't see it. The dress gave me an idea. I wanted to have a small angel tattoo somewhere. I might get it on my back. I have no idea why I am so obsessed with this. I can convince Jordan to have a matching one with me. Soon, I arrived at the shop. - Hello. - Hey. How was the dress shopping? Did you choose something? - All I will say is that I found the perfect dress. - Probably you won't let me see it. - I didn't take a picture of it if this is what you mean. - I can wait a few months. - Everyone will. Now I have to hide it from Jordan. Any ideas? - I asked, and she laughed - Lock it somewhere. Only you will have the key. - The guest room. No one goes there. I don't even know why we have one. - For guests? - Yes, but since we bought the house, no one stayed there to sleep. We only had guests for lunch or dinner. - It won't hurt you to change that. - Our friends have homes. - It's not only that. Anyway. Last night, an important question got into my head. - Go on. - Will you have a bachelorette party? - What? I don't know. I don't plan it. - Maybe I need to talk with your friends about this. - Please, don't. Sometimes, they have crazy ideas. - I have never been to one. It will be fun. Please. - I will think about this. - Great. Cassie and I kept talking until the end of the day. Of course, we had customers. Today, I made five angel shots. I make them every day. People love this drink. I'm glad that it became so successful. Jordan wanted something new, and it happened. When we finished work, we walked to our homes. I had to make sure Jordan won't see the dress. I took it to the guest room and locked the door. I put the key in my wallet. I turned around and saw him in front of me. - What are you doing? - Nothing. - Melanie. - I locked the dress so you won't see it. - I said, and he laughed - You will kill me. I will be patient. - But I don't trust you. I'm still the wallpaper on your phone with a dress. - So? You looked pretty in them. Am I not allowed to have pictures of you? - I didn't mean that. - Then what? - Nothing. - I think it's something. Am I right? - he asked, moving closer - What are you doing? - Nothing. - Are you sure? - I am. - he said and kissed me - No, no. We have to make dinner. - I bought it. You are mine now. - You wish. - Why? Don't you want to eat dinner with me and watch a movie? - What? - Dinner and movie. - I thought. Never mind. - Naughty girl. - Me? What about you? Next time, say things more clearly. - Your words are orders for me. - Very funny. Let's eat. - Not so fast, angel. - What now? I want to eat. With or without you. - Hey, don't be mad now. I'm sorry. - And? - I didn't mean to hurt you. - And? - I won't do this again. - And? - And what? - And I am the best angel girlfriend you have ever had. - And you are the best angel girlfriend I have ever had. - Thank you. Was it that hard? - Yes. - I hate you. - I love you, too. Can we eat now? - I'm picking the movie. - Deal. Jordan and I went to eat in the living room. I was in the mood for Mean Girls. The movie is old, but I wanted to watch it again. Most of the time, I was snuggling. I love doing this. Sometimes, I still can't believe I'll have this for the rest of my life. It's like a dream come true. Sharing your life with the person you love feels incredible. When we finished dinner, Jordan went to take care of the dishes. Later, we watched another movie. He went for a shower. I used the chance to check on my dress. Everything was fine. I locked the door and went to make the bed. - I'm done. - You did this on purpose, didn't you? - What do you mean? - At least you could've put some clothes on. - They are in the wardrobe. - Excuses. I'm not falling for that. - I'm not trying to do anything. Can I get dressed now? - Sure, but. - But? - Come here. - What now? At least I have underwear put on. - We'll see about that. - What do you mean? - Do you think you can go away like that? - I have no idea what you are talking about. Today, you are in a good mood. - I had a good day. - I said and wrapped my hands around his neck - Does the dress have something to do with this? - Maybe. - You won't let me see it. - Nope. I am more important than that. - I never said the opposite. - If you want, I can put a dress on for you. I think I have one. - You don't need to put on anything. It might be the opposite. - he said and pulled me close - I don't mind. - I have no idea what is going on with you, but I like it. - Just because I don't do it often doesn't mean I will never do it. - True. I will enjoy the moment. Who knows when I will have another chance? - You can have as many as you want. - Are you sure? You might get tired. - I better get tired from you than from someone else. - No one else will have you except for me. I won't allow it. - he whispered in my ear - Show it. - You don't need to say it twice. Jordan and I don't do this often. When I'm in the mood, no one can stop me. We are not trying for kids. This is not in our plan. It might happen after some time, but I don't believe it. We like living alone. I want to put all my attention on him. No one else deserves it. He still gets in protective mode when someone is looking at me. I will never cheat on him, and he knows it. Let's say that he wants to show that I'm taken. It's not like there is something wrong with that. He will always keep me safe no matter what happens. I hope that no one will ruin this relationship.
