Melanie's POV: Hello, my name is Melanie. Jordan and I are still together. I can't believe that we got so far. It's like yesterday when we met. Now we live together in our own house. Let's say that the coffee business is paying bills. Jordan has opened a coffee shop. It was slow in the beginning. After a few months, many customers were coming. He couldn't handle everything alone, so he hired people. Jordan started selling snacks. I have my shop as well. We are expanding quickly. They are at different locations. What attracts people the most are our angel wing shots. That's why we don't sell alcohol. We put a tiny amount in ours. It's rum. Our shots are served in a thirty-milliliter cup. The rum is only five milliliters. We put a bit of other sweet drinks. This delicious drink costs only five dollars. No other coffee shop in town sells this. If they start, we'll sue them. The drink is original. I mean, the name of it says it all. It has a special meaning to us. Let's not forget that the angel wings will get married. There is so much work that I have to do. It's good that I have friends and a mother. Dad agrees with everything I choose. Mom is the hard one. I will say that we have a different color vision. She wants everything to be white. I prefer black and green. These are my favorite colors. It's not like I have told her. I hope that we won't argue for that. I woke up and went to get ready for the day. I should start planning the wedding. It will be small. I mean, only with our friends and family. Adrianna is a must. All this is happening thanks to her. She got the fly in my head that day. We have six months until we say yes. I have said it a long time ago. It was since he asked me. Well, I have to do it in front of people. I have the perfect wedding in my head. Sadly, no one else will like it. Maybe only Jordan. He enjoys everything I do. I got ready and went to make breakfast. I will wake up Jordan later. I'm trying to make different breakfasts daily. Well, I don't know that many recipes. When I finished in the kitchen, I went to check on him. He was still sleeping. I would love to lay down with him all day, but someone has to open the shops. I didn't say anything and snuggled. Soon, I was pulled closer. After some time, we finally made it to the table. Jordan was in a sleepy mood. - What is the plan for the day? - I'll go and open the coffee shop. Cassie will come later. I will help her with some things. After that, I have to start with my least favorite things. - Shopping with your mom? - Shopping with my mom. - It can't be that bad. - Didn't you hear her? She wants everything white. I'm getting married, not going to Heaven. - I said, and he laughed - I'm sure there are more colors in Heaven. - People wear white when someone has died. - That is in India. We don't live there. - I know. - Do what you like. It's your wedding, not hers. - The thing is that I don't want us to start arguing. - That won't happen. Your mom should understand that she is there to help, not to take over it. - Maybe you should talk to her. - Oh, no. That is your job. - How is your mom? Does she have any plans for the day? - I asked, and he laughed - I don't know. You can call her and ask. - Yes, I can. Jordan and I talked while eating. Later, we went to our coffee shops. If the business goes as well as now, we might need to open another shop. The angel wing shot became popular. The first week after we offered it, I sold three hundred. This is only in my shop. Let's not talk about the other one. I opened the shop and ordered everything. The customers should come soon. Cassie arrived. She was in a good mood. I started inviting her when I go out with my friends. - Good morning. - To you, too. I see you are in a good mood. - I am. - Why? - Look where I'm working. I mean, in one of the two most successful coffee shops in town. - I won't say that we are that successful. - Are you kidding me? The angel shot is fire. You still haven't told me how the idea was born. - Jordan wanted to make something that only we can offer. Since we are a coffee shop, it has to be a drink. I chose the name. - It's perfect. This thing is delicious. Also, it's affordable. - Thanks. Look, I might leave you after some time. - No problem, miss Blakes. - Not yet. - This will happen soon. I can already hear the music. - Maybe I shouldn't invite you. - What? - I'm kidding. You are always welcome. - You need to tell me if there is a theme. I need to dress well. - I planned one, but it will probably not happen. - Why not? - I have to satisfy everyone. - But this is your wedding. You are getting married, not your mom, friends, and everyone else. - I don't want to argue with anyone. - This day will be about you. Do what you like. - You sound like Jordan. - Because it's the truth. Why are you afraid to do it in your style? - Mom won't like it. She wants the perfect white wedding. - I see. She already got married years ago. Now it's your time. She should support you, not put her opinion on top of yours. - It's not that easy. After all, I want her to come to the wedding. - Of course, she will come. - I plan to go out with her today. I might invite Jordan's mom. She likes everything I pick. - She can be your support against your mom. - Yes, she will. I stayed in the coffee shop until lunchtime. After that, I went to meet with my and Jordan's mom. I offered them lunch before we went shopping. I plan to go and look for some utensils. Mostly, this will be plates and cutlery. I know what I want, but my mom will never like it. When we finished lunch, we went to the first store. Mom went straight to the white ones. - Look at this. It's so pretty. Everyone will like it. - Everyone except for me. - I mumbled - What? - Nothing. - How about the ones over there? I think you will like them more. - miss Blakes said - For sure, I do. They are pretty. - The gold lines are a compliment to the black. - Yes, I like that. - How many people there will be? - I think they are thirty. It's a small one. - At least you won't spend much money. - Well, we have a budget. I'll wash the dishes and send them to everyone as a gift. I don't need that much for myself. - You can leave some for you. - I'll think about this. - Hey, what are you doing here? Check these out. They are so pretty. - mom said - Yes, they are. - Let's go. This is a wedding, not a funeral. - Mom, can I choose what my wedding will be? - Of course. I am only helping. - Are you sure? - Look at these. They will go perfectly with the silver forks I chose. - Hold on. You chose. - Yes. Look at them. - Mom, I'm not buying these. - Why not? The colors are so pretty. They will match the other things I have planned. - No! This is my wedding. It's my choice. I'm not buying this. - We want people to like the wedding. - What about me? I am the bride. - You always will be, but people need to enjoy everything. - This is supposed to be about me, not the people. - How should I show my friends what a good wedding I made? - Your friends. Mom, the list is of thirty people. You can't invite whoever you want. - It's only a few friends. - It's my wedding! - I said, madly - But I am your mom. I know what is best for you. - I will cancel everything if you keep acting like this is your wedding. - You can't do that. - Yes, I can. It's my choice. Jordan and I are supposed to choose, not you. - I'm only helping. - It doesn't look like that. Please step back. I only invited you so you don't feel left out. - If you don't need me, I can leave. - This is not what I said. - Really? It sounded exactly like this. - she said and left - Mom! - Leave her. She needs some time. - miss Blakes said - That was my biggest fear. - Let's go to a few more stores. This might make you feel better. - Thanks. I continued shopping with miss Blakes. Mom is mad at me. I don't know what she expects. Her friends are not my friends. This wedding is mine. I don't know why she can't understand this. I don't want all the attention to be on me, but at least it should be something I like. This is the whole point of getting married. Have you ever seen a sad bride? Me, neither. I won't let this happen. When we finished the tasks for the day, I went home. Jordan was having a snack in the living room. - Oh, hello. How was your day? - The beginning was better than the ending. - What happened? - I fought with my mom. - I'm sorry. How bad was it? - She tried to take over the wedding. Again. - I said, and he laughed - I think you two need to sit and talk. - How? I looked at some black plates today at the store. She said it was a wedding, not a funeral. - That was cold. - I believe she thinks the same about everything I choose. I'm afraid that if we keep it like that, she might not come. - I don't think she will miss this. There is enough time until the day comes. You can keep talking with her. - Your mom is on my side. - She is not choosing a side. Mom knows that the wedding is ours. She told me to call her if I need help with something. That was. I mean, she never wanted to choose instead of me. - What was her wedding? - Honestly, I have no idea. I haven't asked her. You can do it if you want. She might give you some ideas. - It will be nice to talk to her about that. - You can do the same with your mom. - It won't be now. I don't expect her to tell me anything. - Can I know the color of the dress? It will be only in one color, or both of them. - I haven't decided yet. Mom wants it white. - I am asking you, not your mom. - I will think about this. Can we have dinner? I want to go to bed early. - Sure. Jordan and I made dinner together. Whenever I go shopping with my mom, I come home tired. No offense to her, but she is draining me. I'm trying to be nice to her, but sometimes, I can't. I want to do everything my way. Otherwise, there is no point in having a wedding. If I wanted someone to do what I wanted, I could've hired someone and given them a list. The thing is that I thought my mom and I could get close this way. Maybe it was a mistake. We are doing the opposite. Dad can help me with that. He might know why she is acting this way. I hope that we won't keep arguing.
