Chapter seven - Girls, the time came

2082 Words
Melanie's POV: I'm so happy that my mom and I fixed our problems. I wanted to do some things for my wedding with her. The other will be a surprise for everyone. That includes my dress. It will be black, for sure. I thought about black and green, but I gave up. One color is better. I took Jordan to a wedding dress store with me. I didn't buy anything. I only wanted to see his reactions. He couldn't take his eyes off of me. It was funny. I might not look pretty in everyone's eyes, but I will always be in his. This is more than enough for me. I know he will like my dress. I need to get my friends' dresses. I'm not sure if the girls will like the colors. Well, it's too late. I have ordered them. They should be done by the end of the week. That's why I will give them to my friends in person. The boys will want a fashion show for sure. Jordan said he would take care of their suits. Probably all of them will go to buy them together. I should think about our coffee shops. Decorations will be needed. There won't be free angel wing shots. Otherwise, Jordan will kill me. I will think of something else. The most important thing is to make more people come to the shops. After all, we need new customers. The coupon idea is good. We'll use it, but it's not enough. I hope that we'll have time for everything. Today, my friends' dresses will be ready. I got a call from the store where I ordered them. The woman told me to go and pick them up. They are not that expensive, but I like the design. I think the girls will look pretty in them. It's not like they have the right to complain. This is my wedding. I make the choices here. When I get the dresses, I will go for shoes. I wanted flats, but I might go for small hills. I want my friends to feel comfortable the whole day. They will be the stars of the show. I know it. Jordan and I woke up an hour ago. We had our breakfast a bit early. Let's say that we have many things to do. I feel like I have a never-ending list of tasks. He will come with me to pick up the dresses. We might go to a clothing store for men. My boyfriend and his friends need suits. When we were ready, we walked out. This time, we took the car. I won't carry the dresses around the town. They might get dirty. I opened the door of the store, and we walked in. - Hello. - I said - Hi. - I am here for the dresses. - Great. They are right here. The total will be two thousand and one hundred dollars. - Can I pay with my card? I don't have that much in cash. - Sure. Put the card here and enter the pin. - Done. Did it pass? - Yes, the transaction was successful. - Great. Can I ask you something? - Sure. - What shoes do you think will go well with the dresses? Flats or heels? - I feel like heels are more elegant. It depends on how long they will be worn. - Let's say a whole day. - In that case, you might get flats or lower heels. - I want my friends to feel comfortable. - Flats can be elegant, too. - I will think of something. Thanks. - No problem. - she said, and we walked out - Are we going for shoes now? - Jordan asked - Yes. If you want, we can go to a man clothing store. I think there was one down the street. Let me leave the clothes in the car. - It's unlocked. - Good. - Do we need something else for our friends? - I don't know. Clothes, shoes. What else? - I might do the same thing as you and buy the boys their suits today. - We can give them everything in the afternoon. - I like the plan. - Let's go. We have many things to do. - What about your shoes? - I forgot about that. I was focused on my friends. - I said, chuckling - Silly girl. - I know. We went to a men's clothing store. It took us only an hour. Jordan chose everything from there. Luckily, they had the needed sizes. Hopefully, the boys will like them. It's not like they have a choice. Our next stop was a shoe store. I picked black sparkly ones for my friends. It was good that I knew their sizes. My boyfriend went with the same color. Plain black. He had already bought his shoes about a month ago. I ended up with shiny black ones. They have a heel, but it's not that high. Jordan and I went to a few more stores. Later, we walked to a restaurant. I don't know if I'm tired or hungry. Maybe both. Most of the time, we were walking. We don't need to take the car every five minutes. - We did a good job. - You say this every time we mark something on the list. - Because it's true. No one can do this instead of us. - We need a list of the shops as well. - Next week we can make the coupons. - What will be the design? - Something related to Halloween. Maybe Cassie can pick it. That was her idea. - I will text her about that. - Tell her that she has a week. - Should we give them with every order? We can give it with an order over ten dollars. - Ten dollars is much. Make the five. - Maybe we should keep it with every order. - I like this one better. - Then, it's decided. We can buy decorations at the beginning of the month. - People start selling them at the end of September. I want the shop to be done by the first of October. - Ok, boss. We'll do it your way. - I'm excited about this. - Yes, I can tell. I wonder when you will be that excited about the wedding. - he said, chuckling - Give me some time. - You have all the time that you need. - Do you think we can do this? - Of course. Look where we are. We have planned so many things together. - I know, but I feel like everyone has expectations. - Why do you care? It's about us, not them. - I want everyone to enjoy the day with us. - They will. I promise you. Let's eat now. - You are hungry, aren't you? - Yes, I am. This was a long walk. - he said, and I chuckled We ate our lunch peacefully. Both of us were too hungry to talk. Our next stop will be our friends' house. Cassie agreed to do the coupon design. She told me she loved decorating. This will be a perfect opportunity for her. I texted Katy and Jason to come to our friends' house. We want all of them to be together. Chelsea offered us to stay for dinner. It's good that group chats exist. We paid for our food and walked out. We drove to the house and parked in front of it. - Hello. We are here. - I said - Hey. It's good to see you two. Again. - Chelsea said, chuckling - Thanks for helping Josh. He loves his new apartment. - Jordan said - I'm glad to hear it. - Can I know what this meeting is for? - Katy asked - Girls, the time came. - I said and showed up the clothes - Are these our dresses? - Natalie asked - Yes. They come with shoes. - Give me. I want to try it. - Chelsea said - Here. I labeled them. That way, I won't mix the sizes. - Great. What about us? - Dylan asked - Boys, it's dressing time. - Jordan said - I like what I hear. - We are going to try them. - Chelsea said and left with the girls - We better do the same. - Jason said - Here are the shoes. - Thanks. - he said and left - Will they like them? - Jordan asked - They better do it. - I said - Here we are. - Natalie said - You look amazing. - I have to say it. The dress is something I don't like. - Katy said - Why? - I love it. This looks great. The black and green look amazing together. - The shoes are perfect. - Chelsea said - We are here. - Dylan said - What do you think, boys? Do you like them? - I look good. - Jason said - I feel like I'm going to a fancy event. - Noah said - Thanks for the shoes. - I feel like they are going to prom. - I said, and everyone laughed - I'm the prom queen. - Chelsea said - Then I will be your king. - Dylan said I'm so happy that everyone liked the clothes. I was afraid of the colors I picked. The girls and I went to make dinner. We left the boys to talk in the living room. They wanted to help us, but we denied it. I should spend more time with my friends, but I'm busy. Well, it's not only me. All of us go to work and then home. - How are the preparations? - Katy asked - For the wedding or the shop? - Both. - Well, the wedding is fine. The invitations are ready. You will see them soon. I ordered a few more things. - You don't look excited about this. - Natalie said - Because I'm trying to make everything perfect. - For who? This is your day. Do it the way you like it. - I agree with Nat. You shouldn't care if others like it. This is about you. - Chelsea said - Thanks. It feels nice to hear it. - I can't believe you will be miss Blakes soon. - Katy said - Hey, I still have some time. Also, if I want, I can keep my last name. - Melanie Robinson Blakes. It sounds a bit weird. - This is the last thing in my head. - You look stressed out. Why don't we have a spa day? - Chelsea asked - Today? - No, not today. One day. - I won't deny it. - Natalie said - I don't know if I will have time. October will be busy for me. - Then we'll do it in the previous months. What do you say? - Chelsea asked - I have to think about this. - Are you ok? You look drained. What happened? - Natalie asked - Nothing. I'm tired of all this. I have too much work. - You can take a few days off. - I'm not talking about the shop. - Well, preparing for a wedding is not easy. - Katy said - I know, but I wish it had been a bit easier. - You can always call us for help. - Thanks, but I want to do this alone. The element of surprise is the most important to me. - I said, chuckling - Why am I not surprised? - Chelsea asked and laughed - Everything will be perfect. I know it. - Natalie said The girls and I served the dinner. Our friends wanted to know how our wedding was going. We are doing everything good so far. I can ask for help, but I won't do it. I want to do this my way. Otherwise, I have to deal with people's opinions. Of course, Jordan is helping me all the time. He is the reason why I am doing all this. Thanks to him, I am the person who everyone knows. I'm not perfect, but he loves me the way I am. This is the only thing that matters to me. I don't need to be approved by everyone else. His opinion matters to me the most. I hope that our relationship will grow stronger.
