Chapter eleven - Fun with the girls

2084 Words
Melanie's POV: Halloween has passed. It went better than expected. We have never had so many customers before. I'm happy our coffee shops have become even more popular in town. The angel wing shots are trending again. This was one of our best decisions ever. We should do something like that every holiday. Jordan and I earned a lot of money from this. Our parents were happy that we had something so successful. This was only a day. Now I have to stress again about the wedding. Almost everything is done. My friends wanted us to have a girls' night. They wanted this to be the last night before the wedding. I said no. We'll do this the week before. We'll have so many things to do the next week. I won't have time for this. They weren't happy but agreed with me. Jordan said the same to the boys. They wanted to have one last night with him. That's why such things are made the night before the wedding, but we don't have time. Our parents offered us help, but we refused it. I'm preparing my surprises for Jordan. One of them is already done. I'm sure he will like the idea. I can't wait to see what he has prepared. I'm sure he won't disappoint me. I can always ask him. Well, I know he will never tell me. It's not like I mind. I will wait for the reveal. No matter what he has prepared, it will be good. I hope that everyone will enjoy the wedding. Today, I will spend the day with the girls. They wanted us to meet for lunch. I have no idea what they have planned. Hopefully, it won't be something crazy. I want to have fun. That is, as long as we do something good. Honestly, I prefer to sit and talk with them. I don't think they will agree. Natalie and I understand fun differently than Katy and Chelsea. It's not like there is something wrong with that. This is why we are friends. We get along well. I'm sure they will do everything possible to distract me. Jordan and I are in the kitchen, having breakfast. I'm supposed to go out for lunch. I have no idea what he will do. He has a free day. I know he will miss me, but I can't do anything. I promised the girls that I would go out with them. They have been talking about this for the past two weeks. I can't let them down. We were eating when we heard the bell. Jordan got up and opened the door. It was Jason. He looked a bit nervous. Please don't tell me something has happened with Katy. - Hey, are you ok? Why are you nervous? - I asked - I came to talk with you two. Well, mostly with you. - Man, what is going on? - Jordan asked - Melanie, I need a favor from you. A big one. - No problem. As long as I can help. - First, I need to ask you something. - Go on. - Will you throw the bouquet after the wedding? - Yes, why? - Can you give it to Katy? - Katy? Why? - Because I plan something. - he said and took a small box out of his pocket - Oh my. Is that? - Yes. - No way. Really? - I have been thinking about this for the past month. - She will be so happy. - Please, don't tell her anything. I know you will be with her and the girls tonight. - My mouth is shut. I'm so happy. - Finally, you decided to do it. - Jordan said - I think it's time. - You won't be sorry. - I'll understand if you don't want me to do it on your day. - Are you kidding me? I don't want all the attention to be on me. You are my savior. - Thank you so much. I will repay you. - I don't want anything from you. Maybe, except for one thing. - Anything. - I want a front-row place at the wedding for Jordan and me. - That can't happen. - Why? - Because you will be her bridemate and Jordan will be my best mate. - Deal. - Jordan said, and we laughed I can't believe that he and Katy will get married. I'm so excited. Our wedding is the perfect opportunity. This will be the best surprise ever. Even mine won't be able to beat it. I'm glad that someone will take the attention from me. It's not like I mind, but I don't want everyone to look at me. I left the boys to talk. I went to my lunch with the girls. They were already at the restaurant. Hopefully, it will be only one lunch. I don't want any surprises now. - Hey. - You came. - Chelsea said - I promised I would come, and I'm here. - Poor Jordan. He will suffer without you. - Katy said, chuckling - I told him to do whatever he wanted. Now, what is the plan? - First, we'll go to the cinema and watch a hot movie. - Chelsea said - I believe you fell for the main character. - No, for the villain. - You and Dylan are perfect for each other. - What? Why do you say that? - He would've said the same if it was a hot actress. - I don't know. Can we eat and go? I don't want to miss the beginning. - Are you ok? You look nervous. - I'm fine. - What will we do after the movie? - Natalie asked - We can go home and make dinner. What do you say? - I asked - Why not? You are staying with us tonight. - Good. I'll text Jordan then. He can invite the boys at home. - That won't be necessary. They will invade our house. - Katy said, chuckling - I don't see anything wrong with that. They will probably talk. - It's their choice. - Hold on. I got a message. The boys will go for dinner with Cassie, Mark, and Josh. Later, they will go to your house, but not for a sleepover. He will be at home tonight. Dylan will stay with Jason. - Maybe they will have a night like us another day. - Katy said - It's their choice. The girls and I watched our movie peacefully. I don't know why Chelsea reacted this way when I told her that about Dylan. She looks nervous. Maybe something has happened. No, she would've told us. After the movie, we went to a grocery store to get some things. We finished making dinner in two hours. Then we went into the living room to eat it. - Chelsea, are you ok? I'm sorry if I have offended you with what I said. It wasn't intentional. - I said - No, no. It's not about what you said. - Then? - I have to tell you something. Nat, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. - What are you talking about? - Natalie asked - That day, when you and Noah went out, I came home tired. Dylan was at home. He made me dinner, but I wasn't hungry. I didn't want to do anything. I went for a shower and laid on the bed. He even offered me a massage. It felt wrong, but I had to accept it. I needed one. I thought he would leave after that, but no. Dylan stayed with me. We kept talking and. - And what? You can tell us. - Katy said - I hooked up with him. - she said and started crying - What? How? - I don't know. He was way too nice that day. I felt special. He did so much for me. I didn't make him. It felt nice for someone to take care of you. I didn't tell him one thing. I had a bad day as well. - Hey, you don't need to cry. You tried to do the same thing to him when you two met. - I said - Yes, but I was a teenager. You know. Hormones and stuff. I'm a grown woman now. I can't be doing these things. - Are you sure that you don't have feelings for him? - I thought I didn't. Now I don't know. - The boys always take care of us, but I will say that Dylan always had special treatment for you. - Natalie said - What? - Haven't you noticed? He will do anything for you. - I don't see him any different. - But he is. Well, only when it comes to you. When we watch movies, he always sits next to you. In the end, you always fall asleep in his arms. He doesn't show it, but I'm sure he is on the moon. - Chelsea, we grow up. People change. Feelings, too. There is nothing wrong with liking Dylan. Also, you have known him for a long time. - I don't know. It's a bit complicated. - Whatever it is, I want you two to fix it for my wedding. - I promise. - Good. The girls and I finished our dinner with a movie. I texted Jordan to see what he was doing. He was with the boys in Jason's house. I wanted to text him more, but Katy took my phone. I'm supposed to stay away from him. It's not like this is working much. Let's say that I got used to my daily routine, and it feels weird if I do something different. For the rest of the night, we kept talking. Sometimes, I feel like this is better than anything else. - Hello. What are you thinking about? - Katy asked, looking at me - What can she be thinking about? Maybe I should say who. - Natalie said - No, it's not that. - Then? - I think Jordan and I spend too much time in the coffee shops. - You think? - It's not funny, girls. I'm serious. - No offense, but you are there all the time. Why don't you two try something different? - Chelsea asked - Like what? - I don't know. Go out and have fun. - We can't always do this. - I didn't say it would be every day. Once in a while, you two need a break. - Don't you think you became obsessed with the coffee shop? I don't even know what you are doing this for. - Natalie said - I wanted to prove that I can be good. - Prove to who? - Jordan. I didn't want to disappoint him. After all, he bought me the place. - Are you kidding? He will never be disappointed in you. This boy loves every single thing that you do. Otherwise, he wasn't going to get married to you. - It's not because of that. - Sometimes, we talk. I feel like he is melting when he starts talking about you. - Katy said, chuckling - Really? - Yes. I have never seen such strong feelings coming out of a boy. You two have something unique. - I agree with Katy. You and Jordan are on another level. - Natalie said - I don't feel our relationship is different than any other. - But it is. You didn't hear it from me, but everyone is excited to see what you two did for the wedding. - I will tell you. It's nothing special. - For us. I'm sure everything has a deep meaning for you and him. - No comment. - I said, and the girls laughed I like talking with my friends. I know I can tell them everything. The wedding won't be that special for everyone, but we wanted them to know how much it means to us. It's not about saying yes. This might be the easiest thing. I appreciate everything that he has done for me over the years. I will make sure to say that in my speech. Soon, I need to start working on it. Not everything in our relationship is perfect, but I'm happy. Otherwise, it won't be real. We take care of each other, and this is what matters to me the most. I hope that we'll never argue for anything.
