Chapter 1
KENDRA
“What did you just say?!” I asked, my eyes widened at the shocking revelation. I looked at my boyfriend Liam. We have been dating for four years although it's an arrangement between both families. Father is the vice mayor while his father happens to be the mayor. Our relationship was merely an arrangement, but still, I thought we loved each other. I looked at Liam with a fierce gaze, patiently waiting for an explanation why he wanted to bring other women home.
Open relationship—seriously?!
His gaze cast on mine and all I could hear was humming, “Say something!” I yelled, his eyes flickering at my cold glare. “We are to marry in two months and you stand there and talk about an open relationship? What the heck, Liam?!”
“This could help us; I mean, it's something I have dreamt of,” he said; he reached for my hand, but I pulled away.
Unbelievable.
How can this help us?
“Can you hear yourself speak, Liam?!” I snapped, clutching my shirt as my chest tightened. “How can this help us? Have you gone mad?”
“Kendra! I love you and will always be by your side, let me have this moment. I want us to be free before the wedding. Go out there, do whatever you want while I do me. Look, I don't want to cheat on you after the wedding; I love you, Kendra. You always have my heart, it's just my bucket list.”
Confusion knotted my chest and I felt a sudden jolt inside of it.
I locked eyes with him while he kissed my forehead. I felt like a fool. Am I not enough? Am I not attractive?
“You want to f**k other women, right?! Why don't you just call off the wedding instead,” I yelled through the lump in my throat. My heart raced without a care in the world and I slumped to the ground.
My world was ending.
“Kendra, you know I love you; I cannot break up with you,” he replied, his eyes locked on mine, and I looked away.
“Why?! I don't understand, Liam. I thought you loved me. Why would you want to f**k other women? Am I not enough for you? If you want I can let you have me before the wedding. You don't have to do this to me,” I pleaded.
I can't believe I am willing to sell off my virginity because Liam wants an open relationship. I thought maybe it was because he had never touched me since we started dating. I have always wanted to keep myself for my wedding night, I want it to be special.
“I don't want that, Kendra; you will always be mine. Don't you want to know what it's like with other men? I don't mind if you explore too.”
I rose and wiped my tears, “Hell no!” I yelled in disbelief. “I don't want to f**k other men.”
“Just give it a chance. I know you will love it,” he tried to convince me, but I wasn't buying any of it.
Liam left in a hurry to the bedroom to get changed and came out in a hurry tugged in a nice blue jean and a black shirt. He wore his favorite perfume and kissed me on the cheek before he ran out.

I haven't had enough time to process my thoughts. It's the weekend and I normally spend most of my weekends with Liam. Father permits it since he trusts me. The time is 9 pm and Liam is yet to come home.
I heard a sudden slam against the door, and I ran to the living room, but my heart dropped when I saw him coming in with a strange woman. I couldn't believe my eyes. He looks drunk, and her lipstick traced all over his shirt. Tears welled up my eyes and my hands felt numb.
He wasn't joking after all.
“You should try this out, Kendra,” he said as he staggered with his mistress to his bedroom.
I stood there with widened eyes. I felt my tongue stuck inside my mouth, and I gasped.
I ran to the bedroom but the door slammed shut in my face, and I heard them doing it.
“f**k,” she screamed.
Liam growled as he drove inside her; I had no idea what to do. I listened to them f*****g inside his bedroom. My tears streamed down like a fountain, I rose and ran out of his mansion.
“Hello, where are you? I need to talk to you,” I sobbed over the phone.
“Where are you?” Kylie asked. “What did Liam do this time?”
I heard men laughing in the background; my sister was at it again. Always clubbing when she has the chance to. Thank goodness Father knows nothing about her private life. It would be scandalous.
“I'm driving, I will come to you.”
“Are you sure you want to come to me? I'm at Skyhigh. Are you sure you can handle the men around here?”
“I can take care of myself, sis. I just need someone to talk to before I explode.”
“Okay, if it's that serious, then you can come. I will send you my location.”
After the call ended I increased the volume in the car to the highest to listen to some good music. It's my normal routine when something pisses me off.
“What doesn't kill you makes you stronger,” I repeated after my favorite artist as she sang.
I pulled up at Club Skyhigh; I walked up to some hefty men at the entrance. I scanned their outfits and I gulped down my saliva nervously. They had the bad boy vibes with those boots on and black leather pants with black shirts. I saw people passing through looking sexy and I scanned my outfit.
I look like a nerd.
“And where are you going?” One of them asked, his lips curled into a mischievous smirk like he was checking me out.
“Hi, I am here for Kylie,” I replied shortly. “I can show you her picture if you want. I also have her number; she is my sister,” I scattered my purse to fish out my phone, but they stopped me.
He took out his cell phone and dialed on it.
“You have a guest, Kylie. Come get her and make sure she stays out of trouble.”
He opened the gate for me, and I entered. I could feel my legs shaking like a jelly bean.
“Pull yourself together, girl,” I took a deep breath, but then, I felt a sudden jolt, and my heart skipped as if it jumped out of my body.
