"Kyah!~ Girls! Have y’all heard the news?!"
"What? What? What?”
"The prime is back!"
"Kyaah!~ Really?! Finally, we’ll be seeing him again! OMG, my Nathan heart!"
Facepalm.
Annoying crazy girls. Annoying. Really annoying. These ugly girls were really annoying. At least, I’m not a girl.
And did she just say ‘Nathan’? Nathan? Nathan, she said.
For instance . . . It’s the . . . NO!
It’s just a coincidence! Yeah, like, yeeeaaah.
Don't freak out, me! It's just a coincidence. Right? Right?!
I only shrugged my shoulders and shook my head in annoyance. I turned around for me to continue walking.
Few steps after when . . .
"Kyah!!"
"Waah!!"
"Gosh, I’m shaking so hard! I think I'm gonna pass out! Please hold me!"
"Ack! I need them to step on me!"
Seriously? That was freaking gross. Idiots. Idiots were everywhere.
Who were they? The way they screech was annoying to hear.
To my curiosity, I turned around again. There was a huge crowd of girls, even their eyes were forming into heart shapes. I let out a breath and innocently looking at the guys whom these girls were fussing for. I couldn't see them clearly, though.
"Whatever," I whispered. It was pointless to suffice my curiosity. And I had a hunch who were those guys.
I was about to remove my eyes to the crowd when I sensed someone silently looking at me. I searched for someone. Its gazes were cold and deep. I kept on looking, and in just a glance, I caught him looking at me.
"Chance." My inner voice called his name, wondering if he heard me. My eyes got stuck to his eyes. His cold gray orbs were like a magnet to me—attracting all the negative charges to my system. The scenery had changed also. It was like we were only the people here. I felt my heart accelerated and it skipped a bit. What is . . . this? I asked myself as I placed my hand to my loud-beating heart. And then, it was as though someone mentally slapped me, like waking me up to reality.
Absently, I turned my back and started walking away. What was that?
I continued walking at a high pace, still hearing my heartbeat tapping against my ears. Did I catch a sickness? Impossible, though. I arrived here in perfect shape.
I reached our room, sat on my chair, and flopped my head on the desk.
I put a hand on my chest. The pain had eased already. I wondered why it tightened? Do I need to see a specialist now?

She turned her back. Now, gone.
"Chance, please marry me!!"
My eyes landed automatically at the crazy girl who yelled those words. I hoped she would disappear out from my sight.
"Oh, my gosh! He’s looking at me!!"
I groaned in irritation. These girls were annoying. Really.
"Stay calm, Chance." I heard Sean say to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. I only ignored him—or everyone. He chuckled. "Okay, girls. Please, excuse us now."
And gladly, they made a way for us.
"Hey, Chance," Justine called, he was beside me. "Tell your fam to build a secret entrance for us."
"Yeah, told them already," I answered him.
"Boss!" I heard Kieffer called our leader.
"Yo?" Nathan replied with his cool grin.
"You’re the reason why we’re stuck here," Kieffer grumbled in a low tone.
Nathan chuckled to Kieffer's reaction, "Of course, that’s how they missed me," and said with a wink.
Then the three of them started arguing. I had no clear understanding of what was they were arguing about, but I just left them be. While walking, many girls were still squirming just because we were having our walk. Couldn't blame them. Nathan was here already.
"Ah, what a waste." Nathan went beside me and uttered out of the blue. "She wasn't able to see me." Then put his one arm around my shoulders.
I only frowned.
"She never noticed me, 'cuz her eyes were drawn to someone." The time he said that he gave me meaningful gazes with a smirk. "I wanted to surprise her, actually."
"Weirdo." The first word that I reacted.
He only laughed ridiculously while tapping my shoulder. "Don’t mind me, Chance."
“I never did,” I hissed, eyeing sideways.
"The same old Chance," Nate commented. I'd take that as a compliment, though. "And by the way, I don't want to attend classes. Let's stay in the HQ."
I gave him a questioning look. "Why? You’ve just returned to school."
"Nothing, really," answered him. “I just wanted to.”
"Fine," I conceded with a sigh. "How about the others?"
"Like I could care less," he told me boringly.
Then we headed to our headquarters. Once we reached the place, we already did what should be done—to spend our time on some meaningless things.
We have a private room inside of this school.
The first reason was my family owned this school, it was easy to convince them. And secondly, it was because we were an elite group, we should have our own secret base. We were called as Cold Warriors—Nathan thought of it.
About that drag racing last night, we actually organized it—for Nathan's comeback. Of course, we should entertain him for a bit. The manager of this group had the connections of the best drag racers, even the mysterious Prima Razza.
Thus, it was all right to show our faces to the public last night. No other group could enter the race except us. What I meant was the whole clan of Cold Warriors—our lowerclassmen and underlings. Our identities were highly confidential. Many bounty hunters in the forest were hunting us.
Nathan was the leader of the Cold Warriors, though it was not obvious to his face. And I, on the other hand, was the second leader. I'd known Nathan since middle school, and he was the one who taught me how to fight.
Next was Justine, the Master Hacker. He informed us the every latest update in the Underground Association. About Kieffer, Yaehl, and Sean, they were good in any kind of martial arts, shooting ranges, and handling weapons. That also included us, Nathan. Each of us had different personalities. We were not alike, but without them, the whole team was not complete.
Minutes had passed and everything went boring. What was he thinking? He didn't want to attend the class.
I formed a frown as I looked at him; Nathan noticed it. "What are you thinking?" he asked.
I sighed and stared above the ceiling since I was currently lying on the couch. "I'm just thinking that you left for about two months . . ."
"Hmm?"
"Then you became unexplainably weird."
He let out a chuckle, "I thought you never minded me?" and smiled full of smug.
"Idiot," I whispered, and he only grinned upon hearing me. He hid everything behind his cryptic smiles. He was a puzzle for me, although we had known each other for a long time.
After a while, I felt my phone vibrated inside the pocket of my coat.
I grabbed my phone and Sean's name appeared on the screen. Why was he calling in the middle of English class?
I let out a breath and answered it. "What do you want?"
"What do you mean that what do I want?!" and he blurted. "And why the hell you didn't attend the class with Nate? And you didn't even mind inviting us!"
"It's none of your—"
I did not have the opportunity to finish my sentence when Miss Marionne's voice interrupted Sean's business on the other line. "Mister Scott, whom you are talking to?" she said.
Miss Marionne was just a new teacher, yet our adviser. I liked Miss Marionne than our former adviser because she didn't care about whatever status in this school. To put it simply, she was fair and just.
I could imagine now the priceless face of Sean being caught using his phone inside her class.
"Who's that?" Nate mouthed.
"Sean," I answered and he nodded.
"The next time I caught you using your phone in my subject, I'll send you to detention office," said my teacher.
"I understand, Ma'am," Sean answered apologetically. He should be thankful. Phones were strictly prohibited inside of every homeroom.
"I'm hanging up," I told him and tapped the end sign.

Dismissal time.
"Nat, just accompany us already!" Ashley pleaded. “We’re in the dangerous times already! We won’t know what might happen, you know!”
They were insisting me to hop into their car, but I really didn’t want to. "I also have a service, so no thanks."
"Can you just call your driver?" Ellianna affirmed. She was desperate.
"No," I replied coldly and stared blankly at them. I looked to their driver. I eyed him, telling him to go. The driver smiled and nodded. I heard the engine starts. "Take care," I addressed, waving a hand.
They muffled their faces and give their pouty faces to me. Aww, like your cuteness would affect me. I wanted to laugh, actually.
Once they were gone, usually, I was standing here and patiently waiting for my brother.
Seconds later when I sensed a chill ran down to my spine!
What? What is that?
I felt some pairs of eyes looking at my direction. Some stares were cold; some of it was familiar; some were cool. I tried to ignore it and acted like I felt nothing. They were slowly reaching my whereabout. Who is that someone? That someone who had the very familiar gazes. I wanted to turn my back, but I was refraining myself. I didn't want to see him looking at me—the him who had ash-like color eyes. Annoying. This is annoying.
"Hime."
I got frozen when I heard someone call me in the real name! Abstractedly, I turned my back and looked at the owner of that voice.
My eyes widened as my jaw dropped open physically! I blinked many times. He's not him! It's not him! I even rubbed my eyes, hoping that this wasn’t real. But no. It was really him!
Nathan was laughing at me.
But why was he here? This was the school he was attending? Why here? Why is he with Chance?
"As I expected, you'll be surprised." Nathan smiled.
I lowered my head slightly and said in low voice, “You’re here.”
His smile grew wider. "Of course."
And then, all of a sudden, we all heard a car beep from behind.
I looked back. Ah, it was my Kuya Mike. I returned my gaze to the five guys and slowly bowed my head, telling them that I had to go. Without looking, I entered the car and sat to the passenger's seat. When I closed the door, I was still staring at Nathan. He changed a lot—what I meant was his physical features.
"Oh, so you two meet again?"
I looked at Kuya Mike. He was grinning like Cheshire of the Alice in Wonderland.
"You know about this?" I exclaimed out of frustration.
He laughed while driving the car, "Yes, sweetheart, I know about this," and answered coyly. "And I apologize for not telling you. Nathan asked me to keep his homecoming a secret, especially to you."
I pouted. "I see."
"Aren't you happy about that, little girl?" he questioned. "Do you . . . you know, miss him?"
"Seriously? I don’t," I said in a sarcastic tone.
“Heh, you in-denial little fluff,” he scoffed.
"Yeah, yeah," I mumbled and averted my eyes outside.
"Ah, also, Nathan told me that he'll visit your unit this evening." Kuya Mike informed with his eyes looking on the road.
"Fine.”
