∽ m i r a c l e ∽   I groaned when I heard noises. No. It was a loud, irritating, and immeasurable long noise. The noise continued playing. My ears! They needed silence! Ugh. So irritating. I pulled one of my pillows and covered it to my whole head. I’m still sleepy! And I never wanted to be bothered in the middle of my sleep. But blah, the tune never stopped. I just grabbed my phone and answered the call. "Who are you?" I lazily asked in annoyance. "I love the tone of your voice, Miracle." Involuntarily, my consciousness poured a bucket of ice on my head! "D-Dad!" I said frantically. "I’m sorry. I didn't look to the caller and answered it." "That's understandable, dear," he stated and I could sense his grin on the other side. "I know you're still asleep at this hour." "Ah, yeah," I told him, lying on the bed comfortably with my body swayed sideways. "So what's up, Dad? Do you need anything?" "Nothing much, daughter," my father answered. "I just want to ask your current-being." I pealed a soft chuckle. "I'm fine, Dad. Just little adjustments to adapt, I think." "That's good to hear." Then I heard his grunt. He must have stood up from his chair. "I'm hanging this call now, Hime. Your Mom's waiting for me. Duty calls." "Sure, no problem." "Always take care, lass." I smiled to myself. "Noted that." "Don't do something stupid," he said to me with a hint of warning to his voice. I prevented myself from laughing. "I can't assure that, father." He only sighed. "Well, have your way. Just have fun." "I will, Dad," I replied and then the line was cut. I positioned myself in a nice comfy setup, lying on my back. I sighed and stared at the ceiling. I was thinking about the things I had been through in this world of bloodshed. My Mom and Dad ruled a secret organization—the White Nation. White Nation was one of the biggest and most respective assassin communities worldwide. The Twain family was a family of assassins. And I came from a family of assassins that had been existing for more than 2,000 years. In every era, there would always be an insatiable thirst for assassins. I knew it was dangerous. And sometimes, it could lead me to my death. But death became my way of life. It was always lonely to be an assassin. It was Sunday and I still had one whole day to be 'me'. Well, I could do what I wanted only for this day. Wondering, what were the nice places to hang out here in the Philippines? For familiarity’s sake, though. I got off the bed and did some morning rituals. Since I still had no food stocks in my place, I ordered food from the condominium’s management. After I ate, I took a bath, went to my walk-in closet, and picked some clothes. I wore a black long-sleeved crop top with high-waisted fishnet tights. Along the top, I matched it with a black skater skirt and under-knee-cut high-heeled boots for my footwear. I let my hair falls with its full-length and checked myself in the mirror for one more time. This was how modern gothic persons look like. I didn't need make-up, I was fine with natural beauty. Then I grabbed my satchel bag and was ready to go. Later that day, I went outside the building and waved a taxi cab. I still didn’t have my car, so. The driver asked me where I would go, I answered him by saying him to a certain shopping mall. He nodded as a response and started driving. Once arriving at the mall, I paid for the driving service. Okay. What should I buy? I think . . . nothing. I already had everything I needed. I sighed. What was the purpose of why I was here? Ah, whatever. Like what I had said, I already had everything I needed, including the stuff to disguise my whole identity. That was the thing I should follow for me to have a normal life. This is so troublesome I could die. I enhanced the deadpan on my face and only begun to walk. Minutes and minutes of walking, I saw the salon stall. Right, I felt like I wanted to change my hair color. My current hair color was brown. I liked dying my hair, though and cherished it more than anything. I decided to make it black again, to make me more normal. I also had a naturally wavy hair, it added a plus point to my visage. Surely, it took time to get through this, but it was fine, I just needed to waste time. Once it was done, I never knew where should I go here in this mid-rise commercial mall. I exhaled. This was what I called boring. Since I did not have a specific place where to go and stay for a little while, I ended on the floor where the costumer's parking garage was. I could not help but smirk wryly. Boring. Well, I was already here, then I might as well check the floor area. There was nothing much here, just these cars parked. But there was a certain car that stood out among these normal-looking cars. It was a sports car. I had thought of something. There would be no thrill if I wouldn’t do anything. I smirked again. My mind had thought of something and formulated a plan that could cause real trouble from this real troublemaker. Step 1: Check if there were persons and security cameras nearby. No one was here. There were security cameras, yes; yet where the sports car was parked was where the blind spots of these cameras. Perfect. Step 2: Go near the car and simply break the side mirror along with the windshield. And I did it. There was a satisfaction inside of me. I smiled evilly. I could say that I was really rotten to the core. But it still felt so dull. That’s all? "Hey!" My thoughts vanished when I heard a voice full of rage. "What have you done to my car?!" Huh? I looked behind and sighted a man with his aura screaming, "Who in this world are you?!" Ah, the owner. Lastly, Step 3: Run for your life, Miracle! "Where are you going, hey!" he roared. Yes, this was minor trouble and I caused it. The world would be boring if something like this would not happen. I was escaping calmly with a bored expression, but my lips curled with a lopsided smile. Whilst running, I noticed a car with its windshields opened, showing a guy smirking amusingly on his face. I paused on running and eyed the guy with my usual facial expression. Right from the start, I was being watched. And I never felt a presence or even a sensation of being watched. A weird fellow. As I was halted on running, security people arrived and prepared to arrest me. Tch. The owner had already called the securities. Now I had no choice but to run. "Need help?" I was about to run when the person who was watching me did my troublesome act, offered me help. I paid a little more seconds to decide. Could I trust him? Looking at him, his face was convincing that he was a good person. Well, I could tell it with his aura. Then, I had no choice. Before I entered inside, I removed the plate numbers of the car with my full strength, then opened the door. I scooted over, and it only surprised me when there was another male person inside. Whatever. I could take care of myself. The car started moving at a fast pace, trying to get away from the securities. I gazed at the driver of this car because he drove swiftly in a very graceful way. It left me astonished when I discovered that I familiarized the driver. The guy at the airport! The one whose eyes were like the moon. Hm, really? I grinned inwardly. If was not the coincidence. The guy caught me staring, then I saw his slightly stunned reaction. That kind of response, he familiarized me. Why all of the places and times? I was the one who removed the stare first, and he continued driving. “Here,” I spoke, disinterestedly, giving him the plate numbers of this car. "You had a quite entertaining show back there," said the Second Guy with an amused grin as he took the plates. The driver was the First Guy. Looking sideways, I sighed. "Not really." I did not care that much. I just wanted a little fun. "Hmm," he hummed. "Why doing that kind of stunt, by the way?" I was not in the mood to talk, but they were kind enough to help a stranger like me. I rested my head on the car's windowpane and pursed my bottom lip. "There is no particular reason. Just did it out of boredom." He scoffed, "Unbelievable. You're one of a kind. I like that attitude, especially for a lady." I shook my head lightly, snickering secretly. "Excuse me, but are you flirting with me?" then I said with a sidelong glance. "Flirting?" he chuckled. "No, don't get me wrong. I'm complimenting you." I arched my eyebrow. "How?" "Haha, because whether you did something terrible or not, you don't give a damn. Just like what you did a while ago. You live as if this world is only yours." I gave him a slight shrug. "You speak as if you know me too well." "My instincts are just telling me." "Okay, whatever you say," I replied and stared dully outside. Come to think of it, I did not know where the driver was leading us. How could I let my guard down on this? Plus the fact that we were all still strangers to each other. I sighed again and about to ask the Second Guy, but he immediately sensed my discomfort and asked me, "Where do you want us to drop you?" Observing their facial expressions, I could tell that they were good persons. Gladly, I encountered them. "If you may, I would like to go to the Twain Tower," I simply stated in a polite manner. The guy whistled in awestruck with a sneering tone. "Really unbelievable. We have an elite kid on our side." I creased my brows. "It's not a big deal." "Only for you, of course," and he scoffed, dropping his back on the seat, clasping his arms. "Hey, Chance, you heard Elite Girl." If I could recall correctly . . . he called him Chance. The guy named Chance never replied and just followed his order. I only remained silent and waited for many minutes not until I could sight the familiar places near the high-rise building where I lived. As soon as we reached the building, I went out immediately. But before I could go, I had to speak my gratitude. So I looked around and peered at them. "Thanks for the ride. Although we are all strangers, you helped me." "Not a big problem," the approachable guy replied. "It is a pleasure to meet you." I only grinned sideways, "Sure," and answered shortly. "Goodbye." Then I started to walk without saying our names. Well, that was fine. As if we would meet again. I continued heading towards the lobby of the building. And then, I remembered that I already had a class tomorrow. Ah, classes. Troublesome. ↭ ♡ ↭ handtheirend
