One o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday.
“Hello, Philippines," I muttered to myself without enthusiasm to my voice. Yeah, here already. And currently, I was waiting in the arrival area while looking for my service. It seemed like he would be late. I hoped not.
Such a boring day.
I decided to walk for a while since I was waiting for him. The airport here was not what I had imagined. It was not that featured enough. Boring.
As I walked, I bumped to a . . . wall. Uh . . . It kinda hurt.
"Watch where you are going," said a low male voice.
It was a man, huh? And here I thought that it was a wall.
Why I did not feel his presence? And who is he? He spoke with sharp ice to his voice and dared to order me.
I lifted up my gaze and met his eyes.
His eyes are dead. That was the first thing I thought after seeing them. I couldn't explain the reason behind it. His eyes were gray, and it somehow reflected the appearance of the moon.
And coincidence, the moon's atmosphere was absolute zero, just like his presence.
"This wouln’t happen if you were also watching your steps," I replied after a short pause, matching the tone of his voice.
He never answered back but to return the dead looks. And then, wordlessly, he removed his gazes locked on my eyes and walked away like it was just nothing on him.
I only shrugged it off. Bastard.
As I continued walking my pace while roaming my eyes all over, I was looking for a certain person.
"Miracle!"
All of a sudden, I heard someone called my name. I traced where the voice came from and sighted the person nearby.
He’s here. I smiled to myself.
Then he started coming to my way with a longing expression. Once he reached where I was, I gave him a sincere grin as he embraced me. He was my loving brother, his name was Mike—Mikhail Zeke Twain.
After a few welcomes to each other, Kuya Mike invited me to his car.
"Where do you want to stay?" he asked, soon as he started driving.
"Penthouse," I answered. "I have to live independently, so."
"Right," he replied, grinning. "How are you, by the way?"
I smiled. "I'm fine. Still the same."
"Well, if you will ask me . . ." Mike pursed his lips and pressed on the accelerator, speeding up. "You became more beautiful."
I chuckled and snorted out. "I did?"
"Sure you did," he also laughed, "because you are my little sister."
"Okay, if that is what you think," I told him back, my smile radiated my face.
My brother Mike was the ideal brother that everyone wanted to have. Sweet, caring, kind, charming, every ladies' fantasies, and such. Those were nice characteristics, but knowing my life, his life was not different from mine. He was also a wearer of a liar's mask.
"Do you want to eat something for lunch?" he inquired, snapping out of my daze.
"Uhm, no, I don't feel like eating," I responded while looking outside, resting my head on the windowpane.
Seemed like it was really hot here in the Philippines. A lot of differences from Japan. Maybe, I would get used to the Philippines' seasons, one of these days.
I heard him say 'oh' and he nodded his head. We straightly went to my unit and he helped me with my stuff. It took time, yes, and I was glad that he was here to lend me a hand to carry all of my heavy luggage on the penthouse floor of the building.
After many hours of arranging my things, he said that he had to leave already.
"Li’l sis, I better get going. I still have some works to do," he told me as he kissed my forehead. "Oh, by the way, your class will start on Monday."
I nodded my head. "Sure. How about the requirements?"
"Ah, right, I forgot to bring them.” Kuya Mike chuckled apologetically and scratched the back of his head. I only smiled faintly as my response. "Well, I'm going. It has been a while. I missed you. Really."
I grinned and laughed softly, "Whatever. You still have works, right?" I said, trying to avoid his cringy sentiment. Kuya Mike messed up with my hair, knowing that I never liked soppy moments. After a short while, he left.
Now, now. What should I do right now?
Since it was still early, I fixed my things. I placed my clothes in the walk-in closet and organized my other properties. I also cleaned the whole room, leaving the floor sparkly. Ah, exhausting. It took me a rough two and a half hours.
Oh, well. Time to cleanse my body, so I decided to have a quick warm shower. Later that hour, I finished my bath and clothing my body. Then I headed directly my bed, slumping my face flat on the mattress.
I inhaled as I panned my head on a comfortable side. Closing my eyes, I imagined the thing that might happen to my life starting now.
Monday was the day and my life would change . . . drastically. I could predict, though. The little and stealthy Hime Miracle Natsumi Twain would be a normal high school student. Isn’t it boring? I laughed sarcastically. Yes.
It was just a matter of minute when the darkness invaded me and lulled me to a dreamless sleep.
