The charges
(Third person)
In the huge building of the Public Prosecutor's Office, located a short distance from the civil and criminal courts, there’s a long corridor that leads to the fourth floor. At the end of this corridor there’s a row of three doors. There’s a little metal plate affixed to the last of these with gold lettering which says Public Prosecutor Dr. De Nicola.
It was on this door that they knocked.
‘Come in’, yelled the voice from inside.
Ferrari and Tancredi went into the Public Prosecutor’s well-furnished office. The room was rectangular in shape with a large window which overlooked the entire city centre. The guests crowded into two dark leather armchairs placed in front of a beautiful mahogany desk.
