The Butterfly Girl: A Star is Born

Crossroads

A loud shriek echoed throughout the area and made everyone's head spin as they looked at Sophia's torso who was locked in the jaws of a Shadovian, thrashing her around wildly. Everyone dropped what they were doing and began to run after Sophia who was slowly being dragged away into the trees. Sophia was unable to fight back or even escape, she was more worried that she'd be bitten in half any second. Teri was able to sprint ahead of everyone and was just barely close to grab Sophia's hand, but another Shadovian leaped from its hiding spot and tackled Teri to the ground. The creature had her pinned down and roared ferociously, drowning out Teri's own screams.

"Go get Sophie!" Fleetfoot shouted to Apollo.

"We'll get Teri!" finished Flyboy.

They broke off and left Apollo to go ahead, hoping that they'd be able to save the both of them in time. Apollo didn't stop for a second. The Shadovian carrying Sophia wasn't as fast as it usually was with her in it's grasp. But not even Apollo was fast enough to keep up with it. But he was determined and desperate to do anything to save her. The soles of his shoes began to grow ice and with each step the ground beneath her began to rise with icy platforms and he began to slowly reach closer. And just as he was about to make a quick attack, another Shadovian leaped into the air and snatched his leg and dragged him down to the earth, knocking the wind out of him. The shadowy creature suddenly picked him up in it's jaws and slammed her back down. It made another attempt to catch him, but Apollo rolled away from it just in time and a shard of ice grew in his fist and struck it hard in it's side. The creature howled and stamped wildly around him. As his frozen arm quickly melted, his other arm lit ablaze and shot a direct hit that made the Shadovian burst into flames. It screeched and struck Apollo across his face as a last resort before it finally ran off, knocking him out in the process. The screams of his friends were suddenly drowned out and his sights faded to black.
