"You better be down in ten minutes or I'll be leaving without you," Mom threatened before walking out of the room and leaving me alone to get dressed.
I had just gotten out of the shower when I realized it was getting late for Mom's wedding dress fitting, and I had promised her that I was going to accompany her to that. But I had completely forgotten about it, and now I only had a few minutes to get myself ready.
I rushed through my dressing routine and applied minimal makeup to my face. Then, I slipped on my favorite sweater and jeans.
