Uriah’s pov I smiled sadly looking at the necklace in my hand. It’s been three years now since my omega’s father had gotten missing and my mother had remarried to a wealthy and ruthless alpha in the west region of Hong Kong. Things has been pretty hard for me and my mother in this pack because we were merely reduced to slaves, the bullies increased when I clocked 18 yrs and my mother insisted on throwing a party to welcome my wolf but to add to our injuries and insults, I couldn’t transform nor was I gifted a wolf neither did I have any of the strength or fast healing abilities like others. Hell let loose that night as my mother was badly beaten by the alpha and asked to pay all the money used for the party. I could only sob at the corner of my room looking at how unfortunate our lives had been. “Where is that your miserable daughter” I heard my step father asked my mum as he stormed into our little cottage because we were sent out of the pack house under the allegations of embarrassing the alpha on my 18years birthday. I hurriedly damped a cover over my head to pretend as if I was asleep which I know might only make matter worse but I don’t want to see his horrible face this afternoon nor be dragged into their endless bantering. “What did she do again this afternoon?” my mum asked frustratingly standing at akimbo in front of the room door. I was expecting some slaps to land on my mom’s cheek but I was shocked at his next response. “Call her out, I need to talk to her.” He said to her in a calm voice drawing a seat out for himself. My mum hesitated for a second before calling me out. I knew whatever he had to say to me won’t go down well with me nor my mum but unless we want to spend some months in the dungeon we had better agree to his demands. “Good afternoon” I greeted him immediately I stepped into the room sitting across to him. He nodded his head in response while beckoning on mum to come have a seat beside him. I looked at mum giving her signals not to sit beside him so we can both escape if he wants to bully us again but she shrugged her shoulder off drawing a seat closer to him. “Alexander is getting crowned as the alpha of the red claws clan tonight and I want Uriah to go represent the pack and also form an alliance with him” he announced with a smile on his face as if what he had just said now deserves an applauded from me or a praise. “Is this man even human at all?” I asked myself looking at the monster seated right in front of me. It took me all self-control to act normal and not pounced on me biting and punching his face at the same time. He raised an eyebrow indicating his waiting for a response but my mind is far away from giving him a normal, calm response. My mum looked at my folded shaking her head for me not to say any outrageous thing but I couldn’t caution my mouth as I flared up burning with rage. “Are you even human?” I asked him standing up to my feet against him pointing my index finger at him. “What did you just say?” he asked, widened his eye with mouth opened in shock. This is the first time I would have stood up against him or anybody treating me like a s**t in the pack so it came to him and mum as a shock. I won’t have anyone treat me like a fool they proposed me to be. “Have you suddenly gone deaf and dumb with your old age?” I asked sarcastically with my hand right on my waist waiting for the worst thing that could ever happen. He turned back on his seat to be sure of who I was referring to but couldn’t find a soul aside the three of us in the room. “Are you talking to me Uriah?” he asked to be sure with his eyes burning out like a furnace but I wasn’t ready to back down nor control my mouth. Let him have a taste of his insult because he had grown too wide and annoying. By now my mum had already seated rotten to the seat begging me to keep shut. “Uriah can you keep your mouth shut?” my mum yelled at me trying to get hold of the situation but I’m not ready to stop not anytime soon. “I will not have to be treated like a slave because of some stupid allegations I knew nothing about” I yell back at my mum stomping my feet’s angrily on the floor. Even if this is will be my last word, I will make sure I hurts his ego and speak some senses right into his thick skull. “Wow, I see you have grown up” he said to me clapping his palm together with a smug playing at his lips. I scoffed out loudly wondering what’s so amusing in this whole situation. He had never acknowledged my mother with respect and always make me clean his spoilt daughter ass whenever she f***s up but this time around that little threats won’t work on me because I’m not having myself to be embarrassed in another pack. He stood up to his feet, “I will have the dress and every necessary thing sent here for her. Have her ready before 7pm” he whispered to mum who only nodded her head in response before he walked away with his Entrange. Something doesn’t feel right here, “like were you listening to me at all mum?” I yelled at her back as she made an attempt to walk inside which caused her to stop right in her tracks with tears lined on her cheeks which soften me up a little bit. “I’m sorry Uriah” was the only thing she was able to say to me before bursting out into tears. “mum” I called out painfully, rushing towards her to pet her. After a while she was finally able to calm down. I rushed to the kitchen to get her a glass of water which she gulps down in one go. I know this life is really hard for her but I will make sure I put smiles on her face. “Uriah” she called out to me, fondling with my hand. “What is it mum?” I asked impatiently. I could feel the air around me stiffen a bit. I kept having the ill feelings of something been wrong but I can’t seem to figure it out. “you’ve to listen to your father, the alpha and attend the coronation party” she said to me in tears which causes an uproar in my head… “that beast isn’t my father” I yell at her. She shouldn’t think I will accept him as my father because she’s married to him. “Hell, no I won’t”. “Uriah listen to me” she said raising her voice a little at me which made me roll my eye at her. “Alpha Maxwell is your biological father…” I was taken aback at the confession and immediately cut in her word but she raised a finger up to stop me. “Henry is my step brother not your father and only you can save him at the moment” she said to me weakly coughing out blood from her mouth. I hurriedly rushed into the kitchen to get another glass of water for her but by the time I came back I already lost her to the afterworld…… “Mother!!!” I screamed out loud in tears, shaking her whole body vigorously.
