The next day, I woke up and noticed that mom wasn’t beside me anymore. I remembered what was going on and I went out of bed immediately. I was hoping that there could be news about Duke today and I would like to know it as early as possible. As usual, I saw mom in the kitchen preparing breakfast.
“Morning dear, come take a seat and I’ll make you a cup of coffee,” She said.
“Mom, is there any news about Duke?” I said.
“Not that I heard of,” She said. “I went out earlier and I heard nothing.”
I sighed. I felt exhausted upon hearing that. All my hopes went out of the window.
“Have you seen Le?” I said. “Is he up?”
“I saw him go out earlier,” She said. “He said that he’ll ask if there’s any news about Duke. So if I were you, I’d wait for him here while having a hot coffee. “
