We stare at each other for a long tense moment and then I crack. I kiss him on his lips and he pulls me under him, about to take all of that pent-up frustration out on my body.
I moan as I feel his c**k slide back inside me. He’s in so deep.
This man is so possessive. He thinks I belong to him and will do whatever he says.
I’m an independent woman, but I have to admit, I do like it. I enjoy feeling like I’m his. I love knowing he’ll do anything to keep me safe.
Our bodies start moving together in a sensual rhythm as he slides in and out. We’re already so in tune. Our movements so in sync like we’re operating on the same wavelength.
After we’re both crying out and holding each other tight as yet another orgasm flows through us, we’re back on the bed with our stomachs growling.
“Do you have any food in this place?” I ask as I look out the window at the stunning mountains in the distance. I can feel his hot warmth leaking out of me, but I just leave it, enjoying the feel of him down there.
“I have some elk stakes in the freezer,” he says as he lays gentle kisses on my right breast.
“I was thinking more like toast or a muffin. Anything breakfast related really.”
“Elk stakes aren’t breakfast food?”
“Not in my world,” I say with a laugh. “But I don’t have a huge polar bear living inside of me either.”
“The diner in town looks crappy, but they serve good breakfast,” he says as he runs his finger over my n****e, making it hard.
My stomach growls in response and we both laugh.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” he says as he sits up. I just stare at this beautiful man in awe. The gray in his hair is extra bright in the morning sun and the softness of his hazel eyes is completely disarming. I feel like I could stay in this bed forever and never get bored.
“You’re my girl, right?” he says in a soft voice.
I nod as my eyes roam over his round shoulder and down his muscular arm that always seems to get me hot. “Forever.”
He takes a deep breath as he watches me lying tangled in the sheets on his bed. “Then, no more dragon hunting.”
My eyes make their way back to his and I give him a look.
If he’s waiting for me to agree, he’s going to be waiting a long time. I’ve been chasing Sperling Kirk for so long and I’m not about to stop now when I’m this close.
“Fine,” he says with a huff of frustration. “Then, I’ll have to find him first and kill him.”
I shake my head as my stomach grumbles again.
“Okay, calm down,” I say with a chuckle as I get up. “Let’s get some food and coffee in us before we start arguing about who gets to slay the killer dragon.”
“Was that our first argument?” he asks with a grin.
“I think so.”
“I guess we better try our first make-up s*x then.” He comes forward with a grin, but I roll off the bed and run away from him with a giggle.
“Put some coffee in me first and then you can put whatever else you want in me.”
He grins. “Deal.”
We walk by the pub on the way to the diner and there are four men already working on the wall that Blake was thrown through last night.
Blake introduces them as the other fireman of the town, Ethan, Carter, Rylan, and Westin, and he introduces me as his mate. He keeps calling me his girl and I like it. A lot.
The guys are thrilled to meet me. It gives me the impression that my mate really has been pining for me to arrive, which I love.
“I should help,” Blake says as he grabs a piece of drywall.
Rylan quickly gets up and grabs it out of his hands. “Not going to happen, Chief.”
“Yeah, Blake,” Ethan says with a smile. “You go enjoy your time with your mate. You waited long enough.”
Carter nods. “We got this.”
“Thanks, guys,” he says as his hand slips back into mine.
Westin slaps him on his back and nods politely to me as we leave.
“Those are your friends?” I ask as we walk on.
He shakes his head. “It’s my crew. My family.” He looks at me and smiles. “Our family.”
I can’t help but smile back.
It’s crazy how all of my stuff is on the other side of the country, but this small mountain town is starting to feel like home.
And I’m slowly starting to realize…
That I don’t want to leave.
Blake
Kimberly greets us with a smile when we walk into Carl’s diner.
“I heard that our fearless chief was walking around town with a hot brunette on his arm, but I didn’t believe it,” she says with a grin as she looks Lily over.
I squeeze Lily’s arm a little tighter, happy to be showing her off.
“I’m Kimberly, waitress extraordinaire and stunningly beautiful mate of our dear Westin. Welcome to the crew and to the restaurant.”
“Thank you,” Lily says with a blush in her cheeks.
Kimberly gives us the best seat in the house, which is a rundown faded yellow booth that should have been replaced decades ago.
“Do you take all your dates to this beautiful place?” she asks as she looks around with an amused grin.
“Just the ones I’m falling in love with,” I answer and her cheeks get a little darker.
I’d rather take her to a fancy five-star restaurant with the finest food and best champagne in the world, but there’s nothing like that in Blackcloud Point. And besides, once she tries Carl’s cooking, she won’t be complaining. The ugliest restaurants that have been around forever always have the best food.
I should be looking around for traces of our dragon friend—actually, I shouldn’t have even let my girl leave my house—but I keep getting distracted with her sparkling brown eyes and soft curves that are making my fingers tingle with the need to explore.
I was worried about the guys getting distracted by their girls, but I never thought it would be me who was unable to pay attention to any possible dangers.
