“What do you guys want?” Kimberly says as she arrives at our booth. Her baby bump is just starting to show. “Some shitty waffles or the even shittier omelet?”

Lily looks at me and I just shrug. “Don’t listen to her. The food is not that bad.”

“Anyway, he’s probably on the other side of the planet by now,” she says as she takes a sip of her coffee. “Let’s talk about happy stuff. For the first time in a long time, I don’t want to think about work.”

“Happy stuff, huh?” I ask as I pour some milk into my coffee. “Okay. How many kids do you want to have?”

Her eyes widen. “How many do you want?”

“At least ten.”

“Let’s meet in the middle. Five.”

She shakes her head, but I can tell she’s interested. “Five, eh? Then we’d better get started.”

The truck starts rising.
