(LISA)
Why?
Why do I do this to myself when I know no good comes from drinking.
Also, what happened?
These were the thoughts that greeted my awoken body as I inhaled the scent of a light powdery leather in my nostrils a memory that I must have passed out in the den last night; probably a good thing since I wouldn't have been able to make it up the stairs. Another question peaks it way through; how did I get home last night?
Stretching, my sense is awake I ran my hands through my messy hair tossing it about before leaving the den, my bare feet pitter pattered against the hardwood floors of my home until the warm mind waking scent of coffee was breathed into my lungs.
"Mom?" I questionably called out before walking into the kitchen and being greeted by no one other than Jennie.
"Hi." She smiled, the sunlight from the kitchen window created a soft halo at the top of her head; Jennie truly was an angel.
"What are you doing here?" I asked shocked, but should I really be surprised.
"Well good morning to you too." Jennie laughed before resuming to what she was doing when it clicked.
" I f****d up again didn't I?" I stated.
" That you did but you know you're only human." She replied.
" So then you just helped yourself to my wardrobe?" I laughed noting that Jennie wasn't in her dress and had changed into a black t shirt and sweats.
"No. These are mine. I had a back up just in case." She answered honestly.
"Smart. So..." I stopped not knowing what else to say.
"Lisa? Is that you?" I heard a familiar female voice call out.
"Hi mom." I spoke not looking at the figure that entered.
"You know it would be nice to know when you're home instead of... oh hello." My mother started to rant before coming to a halt when she noticed Jennie.
"Good morning Mrs. Manoban." Jennie cheerfully greeted with a smile on her lips.
"Good morning, who are you?" My mother asked confused.
"Mom this is Jennie Kim. We went to Melbourne High School together, for a while." I introduced.
"Ah, you use to affiliate with that horrible girl Somi." My mother rudely added.
"Not really. She was just the cheer captain at the time." Jennie answered, her sunny disposition gone due to my mother's coldness.
"Huh, honestly Lisa, I would have thought you would have learned how to keep pleasant company after what happened." My mother stated in a whisper that wasn't making our exchange of words secretive.
"Mom! Jennie had nothing to do with that. What happened wasn't her fault and out of her control." I argued applauded at my mother's behavior although not surprised.
"Mrs. Manoban, I am truly sorry for what happened, if there was anyway I could have prevented it I would've in a heart beat." Jennie chimed in sounding heart broken.
"Well sorry isn't going to give back two years of tuition now will it."
"Mom! You have no right to talk to Jennie in such a manner. God! Why do you have to be such a b***h sometimes? Then you wonder why I make it a career to not be here." I yelled enraged in the distasteful displace of my mother's lack of hospitality.
" Lalisa Manoban, watch that tongue of yours young girl! Further more I don't like the fact that you bring your bed buddies here to defile my furniture. " My mother ranted jumping to conclusions of Jennie's presence in the home.
"For Christ sake mom, it isn't like that! Jen brought me home because I wasn't in a well stated mind to drive home; or do you wish to receive that phone call that your daughter wrapped her car around a telephone pole?" I screamed slamming my fist on the table causing the contains to jump, along with Jennie and my mother.
"Drinking again? I thought you stopped that after it almost got you in trouble and kicked out of Saint Augustine's. Showing up to classes intoxicated." My mother scoffed disapprovingly.
"No. What almost got me kicked out was getting caught with Señorita Rodriguez as she introduced me to international tongues. Quite passionately too." I spitefully made the dig knowing it practically killed my mother each time it was brought up.
Suddenly, my cheeks hurt when my mother had slapped me. The connection of her hand and my face was loud as a clap while it stung my cheek; probably leaving a red welt behind and small cut where the ring had caught me.Sadly this was something I wasn't at all estranged too.
"Who's opening your father's shop today?" My mother asked changing the topic of discussion to leave it in the past what had what just happened.
"Chu." I answered avoiding eye contact as my vision was still invaded by black spots.
"Very well." My mother simply put before walking out of the kitchen; there was a tension of silence in the air before I had the strength to even look at Jennie.
"Lisa I'm-"
"It's okay. If anything I'm sorry you had to see that." I spoke cutting Jennie off feeling embarrassed if not ashamed that she had to witness that.
"Let me take a look." She spoke walking from around the island to examine my face, as I took a seat on a nearby stool, her soft fingers delicately tracing the irritated skin, her warm breath escaping past her adorable curved nose.
"So, what's the diagnosis nurse Jen?" I asked clearing my throat.
"Ice pack for swelling and Neosporin for the cut." She answered, a grin tugging along the corner of her kissable lips.
"Maybe you could kiss it to make me feel better?" I asked in good humor although I practically jumped out of my seat to lean closer.
"What is it with you and this obsession of kissing ?" She laughed
"What can I say? You have very kissable lips Kitten." I answered honestly with a shaky voice causing a light blush to paint both mine and Jennie's complexion.
"Maybe if you behave, who knows." Jennie smirked.
"Jen, what happened yesterday? After we fought?" I asked taking a hold of her hips so that she wouldn't move away from me as I gazed up at her.
"Well, you started shacking up with that other girl just to spite me and-"
"I'm sorry. My anger got the best of me and my reaction to what you told me was inappropriate. I'm sorry Jennie." I interrupted cutting Jennie off as I took her hand in mine.
"No, it was partly my fault. I got pissed before letting you explain." Jennie apologized as she swung our hands lightly side to side, "So Señorita Rodriguez huh?" Jennie spoke after a short silence grew between us.
"Teachers assistant, seems I have a type." I answered with a grin.
"Hmm, clearly." Jennie hummed stepping closer, her hand escaping mine to wrap around my neck, Her forehead resting on top of mine.
"Intellectual, beautiful... Latina." I slowly stated.
"Lisa."
"Hmm?"
"You seriously need to brush your teeth." Jennie laughed slightly retreating from the grasp.
"Hmph, way to kill the moment Kitten." I laughed getting up from the stool before walking upstairs. Stripping out of last nights clothing I stepped into the shower, my toes flinching as they touched the chilled ceramic tub.
My mind was in shreds; unable to tell one thought apart from the rest. I would never get that picture out of my mind. I turned the dial, clean and metal, releasing thousands of lukewarm drops, darkening my hair and trickled down my back.
The water pours down, it drips by my side, as my mind fades into dullness and everything is a foggy illusion. The sensation of the steamy water calms me; it takes my mind away.
Running my hands over my face and wet hair trying to calm my rattling thoughts as a subtle rage ran through me of my mothers actions and how terrified Jennie must have been; even though she played it cool. I must admit Jennie was quiet the actress, especially when it came to teasing me.
The aroma of my shampoo filled the room, the clarifying and clean scent of mint suds up my fingers as it made me think of the other day at the skate park. I thought the best way to Jennie was to take my usual approach of leaving her confused and lusting after me but it wasn't until now I took note that was the wrong approach, it was trust.
Turning the water off and reaching for the towel that hung over the shower curtain to find to my surprise that it wasn't there causing me to roll my eyes in annoyance as I drew back the curtain and almost jumped out of my skin.
"s**t! Jennie." I yelled at the Korean girl who had casually entered the bathroom at some point as she lent over the sink brushing her teeth.
"Hi." She spoke spitting out the toothpaste, her eyes bulging out of her skull as she looked me up and down.
"You ah, got a little something. Right there." I laughed stepping out of the tub and getting a towel to wipe the corner of her lip.
"T- Thanks." Jennie stuttered.
"No problem. But do you mind going downstairs so that I can get dressed?" I asked still aware of the fact that I was naked. Jennie's face looked flushed as she nodded her head and slowly backed away unable to form any sort of words.
Wrapping the towel around my body I watched Jennie descend down the stairs before disappearing into my room and coming face to face with my own naked form in the mirror.
"Hmm. Not bad." I muttered smugly feeling proud and not at all shocked at what caused Jennie to be at a loss of words. I was hot; but I already knew that. Approaching my dresser I pulled out a pair of baggy lazy jeans and a black short sleeve lace up v-neck when I heard a knock on the door.
"You decent?" I heard Jennie's voice call from behind the closed door. Laughing I couldn't with this girl, rolling my eyes walking to the door I opened it causing Jennie to almost topple over.
"Ow. A little warning next time Lisa." Jennie spoke shoving my shoulder.
"I'll make note of it." I answered leaving the door open as I took a seat on my bed.
"So this, this is your room huh?" Jennie addressed stating the obvious of the surroundings.
"Not much anymore. Guessing the view from your window doesn't give much detail." I laughed as my eyes roamed about the barren walls since most of my stuff has been packed.
"I have a pretty decent view now and then." She laughed causing my chest to swell up and constrict around my lungs.
"Guess I'll talk to you later then?" I babbled feeling my chest warm like the whiskey had done last night.
"What do you mean?" Jennie asked confused.
"Aren't you leaving?" I stated.
"Why would I do that? I mean unless you want me to." The heart break was clear in Jennie's words as her voice was a bit shaky.
"No it's just, thought after all that downstairs I... I would've thought you'd want to leave or something." I answered finding trouble to word my statement.
"We all have family drama; isn't anything to scare me away." Jennie expressed taking a seat next to me.
"Okay. So what do you wanna do then? I don't have anything spontaneously planned out ya know. Also I'm sure your girls want answers from last night." I stated looking past Jennie and at the wall not having the strength to look at her.
"They already know. Texted them last night when you were asleep." She answered.
"Lovely." I rolled my eyes.
"Well fortunate for us I actually have an activity we can do." Jennie announced 'matter of factually'.
"Really? And what pray tell is it this time?" I asked all to well knowing Jennie probably wouldn't tell me.
"It's a secret." She whispered leaning in.
"Figured." I laughed.
"But there is one detail you can know." Jennie stated.
" I'm intrigued. Continue."
"I need you... to bring me home so I can change. Unless you wanna loan me something." She giggled causing my heart to skip a beat.
"Your car or mine?" I asked getting up from the bed.
"Mine. It's my activity so I'll drive." She prompted before standing up besides me before walking out of the room.
"At least let me put some shoes on!" I shouted as I dug for my black converse.
"Come on. Hurry up you little monster!" Catalina yells from the hallway telling to move my ass before emerging from the door.
"Say please." I joked crossing my arms not daring to move an inch, challenging Jennie. Which was now and then a fun game.
Rolling those beautiful sexy brown eyes Jennie strutted from the doorway until she stood in front of me and unfolding my arms so that her hands gripped my neck. Still a few inches apart Jennie narrowed her eyes before a sultry grin tugged her lips.
The hair on my arms stood up as a hot and cold chill ran up my spin when Jennie pulled my face towards hers but instead of our lips connecting she ran the tip of her tongue along my jawline to the back of my ear. My stomach flipped like a somersault and my knees almost caved in all the while my heart rate was pounding at an increasingly fast and unsafe pace.
"Por favor Lisa, hurry up." Jennie purred in my ear; the sound of my name rolling off her lips in her Spanish accent that was highly presented. I could feel the increasing blood flow of my s*x encouraging lubrication and the swelling of the external genitals.
"Don't do that." I growled unable to ease the desire that coursed through me to toss Jennie onto my mattress and ' defile' the furniture as my mother had stated, since little actions like that caused an uproar of s****l tension when we are trying to just befriends.
"Do what?" Jennie continued to purr with an innocence in her voice.
"You know what." I stated.
"Nope. Now come on I need a change of clothing." Jennie said placing her hands on my shoulders patting them before leaving me blue balled in the middle of my room.
God she's going to be the death of me and sadly I would encourage it. Pulling myself together I made sure I had everything I needed before venturing out; although I don't understand the bother when I probably won't be coming back home tonight.
"Ready?" Jennie spoke eagerly.
"Hmmm I'm not sure, hold on. Let me wonder around aimlessly til then." I answered procrastinating knowing it irked the tiny brunette.
"Lisa! Don't make me go all street on you." Jennie crossed her arms. I started laughing, I couldn't contain it as the mixture of Jennie's seriousness and expression had me dying.
"Oh... oh my god Jen.... That... that was too funny." I continued laughing seeing a pout form on her lips.
"Stop! Lisa I'm being serious." Jennie pouted.
"That's what makes it funny." I laughed wiping tears from my eyes causing more of a pout on Jennie's adorable face, "Ah come on now love; Sonrisa niña; smile baby girl." I asked holding her chin in my fingers.
Still nothing as Jennie stuck her tongue out at me like an ill mannered child, "You are so sexy when you speak Spanish to me Kitten. It makes my heart race." I spoke still holding her chin, god I should just kiss her here and now. It would be so easy since I know Jennie wants it too.
"Besa mi culo Lisa." Jennie finally spoke rolling the R in my name in such a seductive way.
"You want me to kiss your what love?" I asked knowing she had requested me to kiss her ass.
"My ass."
"Okay. Which cheek?" I asked getting down on my knee's staring at the voluminous back side.
"Oh my god get up." Jennie laughed blushing, pulling me up from by the sleeve.
"Alright you ready to go and get dressed?" I asked.
"Yes. Now come on, I don't want to be late." Jennie announced walking towards the door.
"Leaving." I heard my mother grumble from behind me disapprovingly.
"Issue?" I snapped backed annoyed.
"Are you going to be out late?" My mother asked.
"Maybe? Why?" I asked my annoyance growing increasingly.
"Can you lose the attitude Lisa. I have the right to know where you are." My mother nagged becoming quite the thorn in my side this morning.
"Since when? You know what mom I don't have time to argue with you, Jennie and I have plans." I spoke practical rushing on out the door to evade anymore questions and getting into the passenger seat.
"Everything okay?" Jennie asked seeming concerned.
"Yeah. Come on we're wasting time beautiful." I spoke quickly kissing Jennie's cheek before she pulled out of the drive way and headed towards her house. So many questions ran through my head about what was going on this morning and Jennie's demeanor. A few days ago we talked about having boundaries and being just friends yet we seem to break them at almost every chance we get; well it's mostly Jennie.
All of this gives me a suspiciously sick and nervous feeling that Jennie was turning the table on me, or was using some sort of reverse psychology to get me.
Whatever it was that Jennie was up to I wasn't going to argue since right now it was a great provided distraction.
