ANNA WILLIAMS P.O.V
I felt completely numb. I walked into our bedroom and headed straight to the ensuite bathroom. I mindlessly stripped down and stared the water for a bath. My body was on auto piolet. I lowered myself into the tub and took a deep breath. Closing my eyes relaxed in the tub. My mind wandering back to the doctor’s appointment earlier. The appointment that answered so many questions yet killed my wolf a little.
We had been trying for a pup for a very long time. Every negative pregnancy test made me feel like a failure. Brett tried his best to stay positive, but it was hurting him too. We wanted a family so bad. Seeing all the pregnant she wolves killed me, I wanted so bad to experience that. After trying for years, I finally made an appointment with the pack doctor. That was three weeks ago, and I finally got the results today at my follow up. The answers I had been yearning for, or so I thought.
I was infertile. I would never be able to carry Brett’s pups. The news hit me like a sledgehammer, and I ended up bursting into tears at the pack hospital. Through our mate link Brett felt my overwhelming sadness and came to my side. When he found out that I was damaged he cried with me. He picked me up and held me to his chest. Rocking me and the constant reassurance that the mood Goddess had a plan I eventually calmed down.
Brett walked me back to the packhouse and we separated ways at our door. He had more paperwork to finish for the day. It was hard being the packs beta, I could tell he didn’t want to leave me in my state. Mustering up the best smile I could I told him to go. I was going to take a bath and go to bed, to which he reluctantly agreed.
So, here I am now. Sitting in the bath wallowing in self-pity. Sighing I get out of the bathtub and wrap myself in a towel. I walk into the closet and put on a pair of shorts and one of Brett’s t-shirts. I didn’t know how long he was going to be, and I wanted his scent, fresh mowed grass mixed with the smell of rain. Getting into bed I fall into what I hope is a dreamless sleep. Boy was I wrong.
~In Ann’s dream~
I don’t know where I am. I am in a field of White flowers I have never seen before. They looked otherworldly. Confused I looked around.
“Poppy, do you know where we are?” I asked my wolf.
“Yes, but you will find out soon, it is not my place to tell.” She replies. Great, all I need is my wolf keeping secrets from me.
“Dear child she is not keeping secrets from you. She was telling the truth; I will explain everything right now.” A musical voice said from behind me. I whipped around and saw a woman with long flowing hair, it was white as a cloud. Her eyes held a softness like a mothers would, and her aura told me that whoever she was she was someone who out ranked an alpha. Her dress was long and midnight blue. It had different phases of the moon on it.
“Who are you? I asked. She laughed with a smile.
“Ann I am the Moon Goddess. You may call me Phoebe.”
My mouth gaped. I’m standing in the presents of the actual Moon Goddess.
“You know if you keep your mouth open like that a fly is going to land in it.” Poppy snickered in my mind pulling me out of my dazed state. I shut my mouth.
“Ann, I understand that you are upset that you are infertile. You have every right to be. But please understand, you may not be able to have pups of your own, but your destiny was never to bear pups. Your destiny is to raise the human girl that was found today.” Phoebe said.
“I am supposed to take care of a human girl? But isn’t it against your wishes for humans to know about werewolves in general?” I asked, confused.
Phoebe chuckled, “She is a special human. She is from another dimension. I had made a deal millennium ago with a bunch of elders from her world. She would be blessed with a mate and become a Luna of a pack. She would be born to a wizard family that uses ice magic. Once she takes her position as Luna and fully came into her powers she would battle with the most powerful dark wizard in their world. He has no care for anyone and was cursed by the God of that world, he was cursed with immortality. Lana is the key to his curse. If she defeats him, he will die, and she will live her life and bring her pack to its maximum prosperity.” Phoebe paused.
“And if she fails?” I asked.
“If she fails, she will perish and along with her the entire world with it.” Phoebe says gravely.
“What do I need to do?” I asked. I knew that Lana needed me, maybe I needed her as well.
Phoebe smiled.
“Raise her like a werewolf. She can handle herself. Her mate will come on her eighteenth birthday with his father for an Alphas meeting. He is going to be able to turn her into a werewolf and only he will be able too.”
“Wait, we can’t turn humans into werewolves. We don’t have venom like Vampires.” I said, confused.
“Yes, that is right. He has been given the ability to turn her. He doesn’t know it. They will be in the woods. He will bite her on the opposite side that he would mark her, and she will immediately go into a comatic state. Lana will be in this state for exactly 252 hours. She will then go into a grand mal seizure for 20 seconds. After she recovers from the seizure, she will have completed the transformation and Akull, her wolf will be united with her.”
“Her wolf is already waiting for her?” I asked in awe.
“Yes, I hand crafted her when I was notified her birth mother was pregnant.” Phoebe replied.
“Um, if it isn’t too much to ask can I see her?” I asked hesitantly.
“But of course.” Phoebe said, waving her hand a white wolf with ice blue tips and matching eyes. She was huge. Her aura was powerful and made me want to bow my head to her. She was breathtaking. With another wave of her hand and she was gone.
“I’m sure you noticed her size. She is that big because after she wins her battle, she will unlock her last and greatest power, dimension hopping. She is to be the first Ultimate Luna. Her Luna authority will run on other packs, and she will be able to mind link other packs.” Phoebe says to which I nod.
“Now I must send you back, our time has run out. Goodbye until next time my child.” And with that she vanished in a gust of wind and when I opened my eyes I was laying in my bed. I looked over and saw Brett next to me. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to get a glass of water and splash water on my face.
Looking in the mirror at my reflection I was amazed at how refreshed I looked.
“Poppy, do you think that was real?” I asked my wolf.
“Yes, it was. Now let’s go to bed and talk to Brett about it in the morning.” Poppy suggested.
“Okay that’s sounds good to me.” I say and walk out of the bathroom. Getting back into bed I snuggle up next to Brett and fall asleep in his warmth.
