Chapter 10:

I continued to show Xander around the pack grounds telling him about plans I had for the pack but it was hard getting them implemented as some people didn’t like the idea of change. “As a new alpha it is going to be hard getting the elders to agree on changes trust me it took forever after I took over to get things to run my way but it will work out don’t worry I like your ideas and will definitely have them done once everything is settled” Xander smiles I nod and smile. We walk towards the tree line talking and laughing when we hear a scream but then it’s cut off short I think it’s another rogue attack so we both shift quickly and follow the sound of the scream. We get into a clearing and to my surprise I see one of our younger females she was about 17 soon to be 18 with one of our male wolves on top of her she was crying as he laid over her covering her mouth and pinning her hands above her I growl and shift back throwing some clothes on “WHAT THE H*LL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!!” I throw him off of her and help her up. She hides behind me. Allister walks over and pulls her back gently. The man I know by Kyle was newer around here. He joined a couple weeks before I became alpha and I never liked him. He was always questioning my authority. I walk towards him as he stands. I grab his throat and slam him into the nearest tree, “did I see you touching her when she clearly didn’t want it Kyle?” I growl and he looks at her then at me “why does it matter to you?” he snarls I hear Allister growl I hold my hand up and look at Kyle “I am alpha and I will protect my pack at all costs Kyle you are hereby banished from the deathmoon pack and labeled a rogue you have 1 hour to get off my pack lands before I send some wolves after you” I throw him down turning around to walk back to the girl and Allister when he shifts and attacks me. I was lucky Serena was still on high alert because we quickly shifted and turned on Kyle grabbing his throat in our mouth, but he uses his paw and swipes at us hitting me in the shoulder Serena lets out a whimper, dropping him but she growls and looks at him. He snarls showing his teeth in anger but Serena doesn’t back down she was an alpha, “kick his a*s Serena” I tell her she smiles “with pleasure” she says back and goes after him again.

I had to admit he was strong but Serena was stronger and she managed to grab his neck again in her mouth and she shakes her head till we hear a snap and things fall quiet. Dropping his dead body she limps over to Allister and the female standing by him and lets out a huff of exhaustion and we shift back. I fall onto the ground holding my side. Xander shifts and grabs a pair of shorts from behind a tree slipping them on he rushes over and picks me up I look at him “hey I did pretty good huh” I laugh and wince he shakes his head smiling “what am I gonna do with you always getting into trouble” I laugh and lay my head on his chest as he has the female show him to the pack hospital.

I was in the hospital room for a few hours recovering but it wasn’t anything too bad Serena could heal in no time. I sit in the bed talking to the girl, her name is Isla and Kyle has been trying to convince her that he was her mate and that they needed to mate and mark each other as soon as possible but she knew in her heart he wasn’t hers and she wasn’t his. I take her hand as she looks down still trembling “Isla trust me the moon goddess has someone for you I remember being at a point where I never thought I would find anyone but you are only 17 once you turn 18 and gain your wolf let her help guide you, trust me I wish I listened to Serena earlier” I laugh softly and hear Serena huff I shake my head smiling “he is out there and I am proud of you for not giving in” I smile taking her hand and lifting her chin “I am here for you if you ever need anything ok? I want to introduce to someone from my old pack I think you will get along with greatly” I smile happily she would definitely get along with Taylor and Morgan as she had their kind of spunk and sweetness to her as both those girls had she nods happily “thank you Apha Leila” I shake my head “it’s just Leila no need for titles Isla now go get some rest there is a room in the packhouse I had set up for you to stay in,” her eyes light up and she hugs me before leaving. As she leaves Xander enters smiling “I see you feeling better” I shrug “eh it was nothing Serena can’t heal” I grin “thanks for helping me again” I laugh rubbing the back of my neck he chuckles “yeah I am going to start charging you for all the times I save your a*s” he says sitting beside me I laugh and hit his arm “jerk” I laugh he smiles.

 After I get released from the hospital I go sit in my office with Xander and Tyson and talk about the upcoming pack absorption, “well won’t this pack need someone on campus to watch over things?” Tyson asks I feared he was going to say that I sigh “yes I was afraid you would say that Tyson” I lean back and look at Xander “please don’t make me stay” I whisper he sighs “unless we find someone else that is able to take over unfortunately you won’t have a choice sis you would have to stay here to watch over the pack, you would only be here to communicate things to me I will still be alpha but you will need to watch over things as I can’t be here to watch over them” he says softly I sigh and hang my head putting it in my hands, “so what do we do” I sit back and grab my notebook and pen “I mean to prepare for the ceremony” I say accepting I won’t be going back home anytime soon, we start discussing the ceremony. It wasn’t until an omega mindlinks me we knew it was dinner time, we stand and head down but I stop as border patrol links me “Alpha there is a car here full of women claiming that they…” it’s cut off and another one interrupts “Leila I swear to the goddess tell your men to let us through so I can hug my sister” I laugh out loud and smile “let them through Felix it’s just my sister in law don’t worry please escort them to the pack house” he nods “yes alpha” he says I laugh shaking my head “what is it?” Xander asks curiously “oh your wife is here and I am guessing so are the other girls” he chuckles “I told her to wait till tomorrow but she is dying to see you again” he laughs softly so we walk out to meet their car.

“I have never been so insulted in my life by some wolves” Alaia huffs as she climbs out of the car I laugh and shake my head as I hug her “oh calm down drama queen” I smile hugging her tight we don’t let go for a while she always made me feel better. “Oh I see how it is, what am I chopped liver?” I hear a female voice say, I look past Alaia and gasp as I see my sister Kimmy standing by the car. I rush over and hug her. She has been away for a while on a trip with some friends so I haven’t seen her in ages. I let the tears fall “but I don’t..” I look at her and cry smiling I hug her again she laughs “I got in just this morning when the ladies told me what's been going on” I pull back and put my hand on her cheek “oh sis I am so glad you’re here” I whisper happily and hug her tight smiling wide she hugs back burying her face in my neck we are super close I mean closer than Alaia and I are. Kimmy and I built a bond so close that we could have sworn we felt each other’s pain when one of us got hurt. I loved my sister beyond words and when she left for her friend's trip it sucked because she was going to be gone for a while exploring the world. I look at her once more before Xander walks over and hugs her, “hey sis how was Europe” she grins as she hugs him. “It was amazing you guys should come next time.” I nod, smiling “well let’s head inside we can talk over dinner” I say before linking Mrs. Johnson, to set another plate for Kimmy.

Over dinner we all talked and laughed over Kimmy’s stories. I had closed down my mindlink so I can just spend time with family because the people here tend to make things difficult. “So Leila I heard you were going to become a doctor next year!” Kimmy grins I laugh shaking my head, “not exactly I am going to do residency at the Jade City Hospital then when that is done after a year they will decide if they want to keep me and if so I will become a permanent staff member. After I pass the second part of the Medical Licensing exam I can officially become a doctor and then I am going into business school, to work on starting my own practice.” I say happily she shakes her head, “you are going to be in school the rest of your life I swear” I laugh “nah it should be easy I won’t need more than maybe 2 years but I am going for 4 just to be safe.” I look at her smiling. She shakes her head and smiles. “Well don’t over work yourself sis you tend to do that all the time” I smile and nod “will do”

As we talk the door opens I look up and see Blake standing in the doorway he had been missing since the challenge ended. I smile at him so happy to see him again. He motions for me to follow him as he walks out. I frown and excuse myself. Standing I walk out and close the door Blake is standing outside looking ahead of him. I stand beside him taking his hand in mine he sighs “my family wants me to come back home says its urgent” he whispers looking down at our hands then up at me I look at him and nod “ok well I will need to make some arrangements then…” he stops me looking into my eyes, “oh….I am not coming am I?” I ask he shakes his head “no they asked me to come alone this time” I look down not wanting to cry “how long” I whisper he lift my chin to look at him “a month no more no less I swear” he says I nod tears running down my cheeks I hug his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist holding me close to his body.

Blake left the next day off to see his family in Washington. I kiss him one last time before he leaves. “Please come back to me” I whisper as he nods and puts his hand on my cheek which I lean into. He wipes a stray tear before smiling and taking his ring off that contained his family crest and puts it on my finger “now I have a reason to come back I will need this again” he winks I smile and kiss him this time it was a long and passionate kiss he chuckles “I need to go before I take you to our room and ravish your body little wolf” I blush smiling before letting him go. “Be careful” I smile. He nods and climbs into his car and drives away. I sigh watching until his car is out of sight. I look up as I feel an arm around my shoulders Xander smiles softly “he will be back don’t worry sis” I nod and look down the driveway and sigh “we should get back to working on the ceremony” he nods and we head back into the packhouse.
