Leila Black

Chapter 3:

The next morning Xander mindlinks me thinking I was asleep “hey sis you up?” “yes Xan what’s up?” he is quiet for a bit “how long have you slept?” I laugh softly “ummm...maybe an hour”  he sighs "Leila we need to talk about your sleeping habits" I laugh "and my eating habits I guess huh"  he chuckles "well since you are up training is in an hour" I groan "seriously you're gonna make me come to training you know how long it has been since I've trained" he laughs "well then you better stretch good training grounds one hour" I groan and lay back might as well get up or he will come after me. I get up and throw on a sports bra, then a take top and some of my activewear leggings, I slip my tennis shoes on, throw my hair up in a ponytail and head downstairs into the kitchen and grab a bottle of water before jogging to the training grounds. 

I run up and see everyone talking and stretching. I look around for Xander but he was probably running behind. Henry runs up to me and I smile "hey Henry long time no see how's the babies?" He smiles "perfect I didn't know you were joining us today" I nod "yeah Xander made me join today I do need it haven't trained in forever" he laughs "well then hope you can keep up" I smirk "oh I will don't worry about me old man" he laughs and walks away I go off to the side and start stretching. 

Training was rough to say the least I was not expecting to be so sore afterwards. I walk into the kitchen my whole body aching I grab an ice pack and put it on my shoulder as I sit back Xander and the others walk in they got a few bumps and bruises but not as bad as I got it Xander laughs "you should have taken my advice and went easy today" he says walking past to get a bottle of Gatorade I grumble "well maybe if you all didn't hit so hard I would be fine" he shakes his head laughing Alaia walks in and looks at me "what happened?!" She says worried Matt laughs "Leila got her a*s handed to her" I look at him and growl "oh shut it pretty boy" he chuckles Alaia puts her hand on my shoulder and hums I feel a rush of energy and my arm feels much better I smile "thanks sis" she nods "you're welcome don't make this a habit please I already have to take care of these 3 a*sholes" I nod and smile "don't worry I won't."

We all sit down for lunch to eat when my phone rings I roll my eyes thinking it is Jessica but it was the school calling I frown "that's odd" I hit answer "hello……..yes this is she……...oh…...no I'm not on campus I'm with family……..5 you said" I look at the clock "yes I can be there……..yes sir……..mhm…..thank you" I hang up and look at my phone confused everyone everyone quiet "what is it?" Xander asks confused I look at him "the president of the school called says we need to have a meeting today says it's very important" I say worried "do you think someone told them about Jessica chasing off of you?" Matt asks I shrug "I don't know I hope not I can't afford to get kicked out I'm almost done" Alaia takes my hand "I'm sure everything is fine breathe don't worry about it ok" I nod and sit back taking a deep breath "your right I shouldn't worry about it" I force a smile "let's eat I'm starving"

At 3:30 I started getting ready for my meeting. I slip on a nice white shirt, a simple black blazer and a black pencil skirt with some heels. I put my hair in a bun and do some simple makeup. I come down with my purse and sunglasses on my head Xander looks at me and laughs “since when did you start looking like a grown up?” I smack his arm and laugh “very funny I need to look decent for this meeting if I was gonna get kicked out I am going to look good” I smile and look at the time “s*it I am running late I should’ve already left can I use your car please it’s faster than mine” I look at him with puppy dog eyes he rolls his eyes and hands me his keys, “don’t wreck it please” I take them grinning “thanks bro” I kiss his cheek and run out.

I drive to the college going no lower than 80. I pull up to the college and head inside. I am then led to a meeting room where the president and all my teachers were sitting waiting for me. I took a deep breath and walked in. The president smiles at me as I walk in “ah Leila welcome please have a seat grab a water on your way in” he smiles he was always super nice to me I grab a bottle of water and take a seat at the other end of the table he sits back and looks at me. “So Leila you are probably wondering why I asked you here when you were with family and I apologize to pull you away but your teachers and I were discussing and you have been doing so well in your classes and has been head of your class since you started coming here we would like to offer you a chance to start your residency early you would start next year at Jade City General Hospital” my eyes go wide as he says that “are…..are you serious” I smile he nods Mrs. Rhodes looks at me smiling “Leila you have done so well you deserve this” I smile and nod “yes I would love that very much thank you so much” I say happily. Mr. Lewis the president signs some papers and nods “alright it is all finished you start residency next year the hospital is excited to finally get to work with you.” I smile and stand and shake all their hands “thank you so much for this opportunity I am grateful.” the president chuckles “just promise me that in a few years when you become successful you will come and help out at the school with our medical program” I nod happily “absolutely sir you can count on me” he nods smiling happily.

The drive home my mind was so overloaded with excitement that I didn’t realize when I walked inside the Packhouse I was in a daze when Xander cleared his throat I jumped and looked at him everyone was in the common room looking at me “so? How was the meeting everything ok” I look at him smiling. I walk over and begin telling them about the meeting. “Leila that’s amazing” Taylor says and hugs me I smile and hug back “thanks Tay” “we are all happy for you” Morgan smiles I look at her “thanks Morgan that means a lot I am super excited to finally move into residency” “well this cause for celebration” Xander says I roll my eyes and smile “we still have 3 months before I graduate into residency Xan we don’t have to celebrate so soon” he shakes his head “we will celebrate when you graduate but we are gonna celebrate for the good news don’t worry nothing big we will have a few friends and of course mom and dad and your favorite foods” I grin and nod “sounds good thanks Xan.”

We didn’t have a small simple party the whole pack was there celebrating my great news there was a whole chocolate cake with chocolate icing (my favorite) and tons of food everyone was out back laughing and talking there was a bar with a bartender making drinks for people and the music was buzzing I smile as I walk around everyone congratulating me I find a quiet spot and sit back sighing I wasn’t a huge fan of parties but I enjoyed the laughter. Kade comes over and sits beside me handing me a drink “so much for a small party” I laugh softly he nods “you know your family they can never do small” I nod and laugh taking a sip of the drink. I was so happy to be home. It felt right being here with all my loved ones and the pack. This was home.
