Liking someone isn't exactly a horrible thing. Well, unless it happens to be with someone who your first impression was not quite the best ㅡ Not a problem, right? a mature conversation and the misunderstanding would be dealt with, erased with a new chapter beginning.

Not with two hotheads, one much more annoying and taking it to extreme highs.

Maybe ㅡ Just maybe, along the way, childish banter, petty remarks and glares involved ㅡ someone might have just stumbled down the stairs ㅡ of love, of course.

Whispering among eachother yarning a bit more information, the room was filled with weightless words, gossip — lies. Each man had been turning to the one beside, to spread more lies or listen to rumours. There wasn’t a different option, other than that of spreading misinformation — it had been the exact reason the whole ordeal had been held, after all. Everything was annoying, the noise, the commotion — every single body in the room was, they had not let the man continue his rant before everyone suddenly had something to say. It annoyed him — a loud thug of his hand hitting the table, silenced the entire room as everyone now had their eyes on him. He was grateful but the pain that shot through his hand, could surely make a man cry. With his left hand, he rubbed the sore hand with a stoic face regardless of his inner whimper. He regretted doing that but he got the attention he wanted — that, was great and successful. Straightening up his posture, his arms rested on the surface of the table. “The company lost the most stocks in the shortest period of three months, and all this happened since she was appointed CEO.” He addressed. He was proud, too proud that his plan had been going successful — all for his sake and nothing more than pure hatred for the current CEO. There was silence and then one voice filled the room — that of a man. “I always knew it. A woman can not run a man’s job!” And they agreed whole heartedly. It wasn’t something new, it was typical of them — moreover what would one expect from a potbellied man, a silly excuse of a husband — and so were the rest of the men in the room — ignorant minds, arrogant fools, typical fools. One of the many reasons she had never settled into liking the board of directors, it wasn’t only because they were men — a few reasons followed — but honestly them being men was enough of a reason. First off the hate list had to have been the cheating, married cheating men incapable of owning up to their mistakes even being faithful had a strain on them, they could barely breath if they did. Second off, the were cowards unable to do any of this with her available — because they knew no matter how many times they made such a fuss, none had the guts more less the power to do anything. She was upset — and it was a good reason for her to be, on her not so lovely days — her one day off, this s**t had to happen. Not to mention she was in bed curled up in the most fitting position, that soothed her pain. “Ya’ll are just pathetic excuses.” She had pushed past the door — not all gentle nor with ease — her eyes roamed the room noticing each person in the room, one grabbing her attention. “I find you ridiculously annoying, Nate.” She had been glaring at him as she slowly approached, the all famous master mind to every little inconvenience she met — the man who does a great job at making her fail other than his own job — his own marriage. “Scarlet—” She didn’t listen to him, she was grateful to have him as a friend and inform her but she wasn’t going to let it slide just like that. Pulling herself out of his hold, she slowly walked over to Nate — her glare very much prominent. “You are one stuck up irritating bastard, Nate. Aren’t you at all tired — first you bribe the press and leak false information, so that I get bad publicity.” Standing a few inches away from him, she turned her gaze to the rest of the men in room then right back at him — with a bit of a tilted head. “—And now, a meeting to vote me out of the big seat. It kind of looks like a fanclub to me.” She chuckled simultaneously shaking her head — who would put up all this effort on hating her, they had to be thinking of her all the time with the amount of s**t that kept coming. Nate was annoyed along with everyone else — a f*****g fanclub is what this whole scenario looked like to her? — were they a joke to her. “Yes, you are a joke to me.” she agreed with him even though he hadn’t said it aloud. It angered him further when she said it with a smile and she wat patting his head — like a good dog being awarded after doing a trick. He smacked her hand away, irritated was understatement right now. She spun the chair he was in, forcefully making him face her — he couldn’t do otherwise because she held it in place. “I find it very sweet of you, you know. How often do I pop up in that head of yours — are your thoughts ever empty of me?” The scowl on his face made her smile even brighter, she was enjoying every single second. “Our company will go bankrupt because of you, you’re a worthless piece of s**t that got this position because you are daddy’s girl — you know nothing, you’re a liability!” He barked. She let the chair got, with a disapproving pout, she stood posture perfect — shoving her hand in the pockets of her sweatpants, she shook her head. “Nate, if you ask me the only liabilities here are; you gambling every penny you own, your lust for women other than your wife.” she said. It was no lie than man could gamble all his salary in a night or spend the night in the warmth of arms of another woman, far from home and his wife. He made himself her enemy, so what else would she do other than hold leverage, she was the enemy after all — she had to live up to it. “You gamble each penny you earn every single night, no wait — it all ends in one night — f**k women, who I must say are definitely not your wife, Nate.” She paused, staring at him for a moment before she continued. “You are in so much debt man.” she laughed gripping onto his shoulder rather harshly. “It’s no surprise you embezzle money from the company.” “I do no—” The man winced as she applied pressure on her grip, abruptly cutting himself off. She shook her head disapproving. “Should I remind you that on the twentieth of each month, a mysterious bank account gets a credit transfer from our company, signed by you?” She let his shoulder go but lowered her stance meeting his gaze. “—and you know what’s f****d up, that it all started being frequent three months ago since I earned this position — do you think I am incapable of handling and knowing what happens in my company, Nate?” He looked like a deer caught in head lights — how could he have selfishly thought he would get away with that poor plan. “Suddenly the big bad wolf has nothing to say? No more huffing and puffing?” she teased patting the man on the head. “My father might not know that and to top it off that it had been going on for years — let me tell you something, keep this up and you’ll be jobless, horny, arrested or dead.” Her hand gripped his necktie immediately pulling him up from his seat. “Just one more thing.” and then she punched him, as hard as she could — her hand needed ice. “Anyone? Anything to add?” She mumbled staring at everyone in the room anticipating anything — none, pure silence and shock well with a man bleeding onto his dress shirt. She breathed out in relief, throwing herself on the chair — the only person who had to take this seat, her. “Since we’re all here, we are having an emergency meeting.”
