“What in the name of Ares happened to you!” Jayson gasped staring at Scarlet from her bandaged right hand to her bruised cheek. “Just a rough morning.” she shrugged walking up to him from the elevator. It was sort of their thing, she would show up late to work and he would wait for her on their floor, close to the elevator — just to lecture her most times. “Who beat you up?” Furrowing her eyebrows she glanced at him. “You mean who did I beat up.” she corrected. “A husband?” “Sort of.” she responded a bit uncertain, she definitely could not call her brother a husband. He sucked at the job, greatly. “You ran away from work leaving a bunch of work to shag a married woman again, are you mad?” hissed Jayson glaring at her. Maybe taking off without a goodbye or a reason why and in a hurry was sort of backing up his assumption, but she didn’t do any of it — sadly. “Mad that I didn’t shag anybody, that noone shagged me yesterday not even myself.” “So you fell?” he questioned a bit confused. “From heaven!” With a sigh he shook his head. “Scarlet, we all know you fell from hell.” Gasping at his statement she placed her hand over her chest, staring at him up and down she spoke. “The audacity!” “So what happened?” he asked again laughing off her dramatic exaggeration. “I taught Michael a lesson.” “She seriously needs to divorce him.” he sighed following Scarlet behind. “I agree and I hope she does soon.” grabbing the door knob she mumbled, only to be stopped from opened the door by Jayson’s hand on her shoulder. “So like someone is here to meet you.” “Is it important?” “I think?” She glared at him, then slowly began opening the door to her office. It took her by surprise but maybe by earlier outcomes she should have expected it, guessed it even. That woman was the only one who visited her a lot and met her quiet a lot. “Mrs Brown?” “Yep and goodbye.” he mumbled slipping out of sight before he could get mixed up with these two again. The first time he regretted it and he wasn’t going to let there be a second. “What do you want now.” she murmured closing the door behind her. “Hello to you too, and I would like to restart this.” she spoke waving her hands between them, from her to Scarlet. “This?” she questioned taking a seat in front of her. “Us, I mean.” Narrowing her eyes she leaned closer to the desk. “Restart what exactly?” “This fellowship, acquaintanceship — whatever this is.” the woman mumbled. “And exactly why?” So full of questions she was today and it irritated, clenching her fists she sighed. “I, a woman with a daughter can’t exactly be crushing heads with a child such as yourself, the exact age of my daughter.” “I am twenty five!” she hissed glaring at the woman. She was far beyond a child — she had to learn that by now atleast. She smirked loving how irritated she made her. “And she is twenty one, exact age.” Scarlet snorted, “Why would I want to start on the right foot with you?” Why would she when all the woman did was insult her and she did the same, they were far too deep to become civil at this point. “Because it is childish and I’ll be seeing you a lot, it gets tiresome. We have to make us work for the companies to work.” “So what do you have in mind?” Pursing her lips she thought about it not long before an idea come into mind. “Let me treat you to lunch.” “Sure!” Scarlet squealed not a minute to waste. The reaction had taken her up by surprise — the enthusiasm. Staring at her skeptical of her reasons and her wide smile, she asked. “Why?” Scarlet only shrugged a bit less enthusiastic then before. “I like making you suffer plus who says no to free food?” No one usually would ever say no. No one was her, she never said no to such pleasures. Grinning at the woman she wiggled her eyebrows irritating her a bit further. Maybe, just maybe — she shouldn’t have acted like the bigger person in this. Scarlet would surely make her regret it, and she knew.
