Feeling an aggressive pat on her shoulder she snapped her head towards the person, ready to reprimand them. She didn’t exactly do anything, as the other person had the brightest smile on their face — she couldn’t, she simply smiled. His light brown hair was trimmed perfectly into a decent mullet, a bit short than it had been a few days prior. Like her, he had on black pants with sneakers and a long sleeved blue shirt. Her handsome best friend, personal assistant, Jayson. His smile turning into a smirk, he tilted his head a bit towards her, a brief nod. “Whore...” “Dweeb...” They held eye contact, a serious demeanor surrounding them well until it wasn’t, as Scarlet broke out laughing — lightly she punched him. “I’ll have you know I have not slept with anyone in while.” “And I wonder why?” he asked, rubbing his chin, snapping his fingers paused leading both of them to stop walking. “You were on your goddamn period!” “Didn’t stop me before!” she smirked, wiggling her eyebrows at him — he wasn’t pleased at all. Wrinkling his nose, he smacked her on the head. “I didn’t need to know.” She hissed snapping her head at him with a glare. “That hurt but you still know now.” His frown deepened while her smile brightened — no for long though, because he was certainly here to greet her for a reason. With a sigh she asked. “Is that bastard still ranking number one?” Agreeing with a weak smile, he slipped his hands in his pockets, following her lead. “He hasn’t dropped, still the most searched guy on every search engine — in the past four days he is still our number one keyword, funny thing is, they’re more stories being added.” he explained. “How is the court case?” “No one knows yet. There is something you need to know though.” Holding back a few words he was a bit hesitant, he studied her expression for anything but there was none — just blank. He then sighed, “One of the stories being added is about him molesting his niece, source says—” Her mind had immediately lost touch with reality, she knew he was saying something because his lips were constantly moving — she couldn’t hear a single thing, if he was explaining further or trying to calm her down, her mind was completely in shambles. Her mind Kept racing on and on about that particular day, she had gotten past it — with the therapy and of course everything that had the power to make her mind sideline it, which would particularly be women. That hadn’t mattered at all — maybe a bit, a tiny bit — what terrified her was the media. Yes those people, predators of personal information — secrets. “Scatlet? Are you okay — you zoned out.” Those particular words drew her back, well and the firm grip on her shoulder that gently shook her. She momentarily closed her eyes before giving him a head nod, assuring him, escaping his grasp she took a step away from him. “Did they mention or give possible names of who they think the niece is?” She already knew the answer to that, she would certainly be there — proof or without it. He frowned, “Yes, there is Joy, Amanda and you but—” “That b***h has me trending on the internet!” she whined. Totally not what he expected, as his stared at her with a slightly open mouth — trying to formulate the right words. And when he did, he was interrupting him totally knowing what suggest he was bringing up. “I could tell them to—” “— delete? No that’s okay it will blow over, soon.” she wasn’t totally sure, she could just hope it did. With all the talking, walking and thinking she barely paid attention to anything physical. It wasn’t an intensional thing to bump shoulders with whoever she did, and neither was her not apologizing loud enough — she mumbled a sorry just the other person clearly hadn’t heard — or maybe she mumbled that in her head and forgot to open her mouth. Regardless the damage was down. “I really don’t like you.” Of course anyone would have thought that was intentional given their encounter earlier, or last week — let’s say every encounter they had. Turning towards the voice she knew all too well, she faced the person with a frown — that vanished as soon as she saw the annoyance on her face. Scarlet smiled. “Neither do I, Miss.” “It’s Mrs. Brown.” Chiara crossed her arms, a glare on her face. “Don’t care.” Scarlet resorted, crossing her arms as well — to say Jayson was just lost and feeling uncomfortable, summed it up very well. Mrs. Brown shrugged, then spoke with a nonchalant tone. “I didn’t say you should.” It irritated Scarlet, she saw that and enjoyed it even — that she was fighting back a smile watching the girl. Her arms dropped to her side, how could someone be so calm — so, f**k it, it is no big deal — when she was ready to throw her out the window a few seconds ago. “Fine! then I won’t.” she huffed facing the other direction, trying to maintain a serious face and her ‘I don’t give a flying f**k, too’ attitude. “How childish.” Mrs. Brown chuckled enjoying driving her mad. Like a child, she certainly did look like one throwing a tantrum. “Disrespectful much?” “Not more than you. I’m actually expecting an apology.” she stated, straightening up her skirt from the non existent wrinkles, she placed her hands on both sides of her hip. Scarlet furrowed her eyebrows, her index finger held out she pointed at her, up and down. “I thought you were expecting a baby — you are rather large right there.” she mumbled pointing well, everywhere. Chiara huffed, clenching her fist. “I can’t believe it but I should, first you call me ugly with no beautiful feature in sight and you’re calling me fat!” Joyously nodding she grinned, “Yeah I believe so.” “You need disciplining!” “Yes mommy, I’ve been a very naughty—” “Shut the f**k up! what is wrong inside that head of yours?” she panicked her eyes roaming the room, like f**k they were in the hallway! — everyone in this building could have damn well heard that. “Mommy—” That word again, it was just wrong coming out her mouth, mostly with that smirk on her face. But luckily she didn’t add anything, as the man beside had finally covered her mouth. It took him long enough. “I’m really sorry Mrs. Brown, I’ll take her away.” he apologized while dragging her away, like literally considering she was fighting back his hold. “Thank you.” she sighed in relief. Useless to be honest, she escaped — biting Jayson that lead him to release her and tend to the stinging pain on his hand. “Spank me!” She managed to shout before his hand fell over her mouth again — like goddamn, couldn’t she behave. Pinching the bridge of her nose, the woman sighed before taking a step or two towards the girl, who had been struggling to get away from his grip. “I actually might but not in a s****l way.” she whispered, her breath tickling her ear. With that said, she had pinched her ear, twisting it a bit too much — with one last smile she walked away.
