Two: Taken

2044 Words
Taken Two Teagan I’m pulling into a cheap motel parking lot. It’s late at night and I have been driving all day long. I’m physical and emotionally done in right now. I look in the rearview mirror and see Ryan curled up on the seat passed out. It seems his change earlier this morning took a lot out of him. He has only woken up long enough to eat than pass right back out. I park right in front of the office’s huge bay window. Getting out I make sure to lock the doors and go to my trunk with my wallet in hand. Opening the trunk, I pull my go bag forward. Opening the small outside pocket. I pull out some money and new IDs for me. I close everything back up and shut the trunk quietly. I don’t want to wake Ryan up. I walk into the office, keeping my car in my sight I wait for the attendant. A young girl comes to the counter. “Hello, how may I help you?” I look at her as I’m rummaging through my wallet. “Hi, I need a room with two singles for tonight please.” The attendant who’s name tag say Jen on it starts typing on her computer. “I’m sorry, all I have is a room with two queens left. Would you like that one?” I nod my head. “That will do.” Jen takes my information and types it into the computer. Handing me back my driver licenses and change she turn and opens a drawer. “Complimentary breakfast is from six am to nine am. Check out is nine am. Here is your key card, you’re in room 205 on the second floor. Have a nice night.” She smiles at me while handing me the key card. “Thank you.” I say exiting the office. I drive till I can find an open spot with plenty of light. I like to be able to see what’s around me. I park the car and turn in my seat. “Ryan, hey kid come on wake up.” I say shaking his shoulder. He mumbles to me cracking open his eyes. “What mom, I’m sleeping.” I laugh at him. “I know you are, and I want to sleep to. So, why don’t you get up so we can go to our room and sleep in beds?” He sluggishly sits up glaring at me. “Fine.” We both exit the car, grabbing the go bags out of the trunk. Ryan follows me up the steps to our room. On the way I am looking for all possible escape routes. There are stairs at both ends of the walkway. I look over the railing. Only in case of emergency would I jump over it. It looks like I would seriously hurt myself though. I stop in front of room 205 and insert my key card in the slot. I walk into the room. Ryan stands to the side and waits for my inspection. He knows the drill well. I walk around the room, opening all the doors and checking for anyone hiding. I make my way back to the front door. Ryan is shaking his head at me. “Mom, I think you had a brain injury or something when you were younger.” I look at him smiling. “And just why would you say that?” He looks at me as he crawls up on the bed closet to the bathroom. “Because you act like the boogie man is everywhere.” I watch as my son lays down on the bed. “I hope you never find out son.” I say as I’m locking the door and double checking the windows. Making sure they are locked. “I’m going to take a shower okay.” I grab one of the three changes of clothes out of my go bag. “Okay, mom.” Ryan says as he turns on the TV. I leave the bathroom door open a c***k so I can hear what’s going on in the other room. Turning on the taps I undress and step into the scalding hot shower, sighing in relief. I start thinking about what Ryan said to me in the car during lunch. “The Montana Rockies” I still don’t understand how he came up with that place. I never told him where on the map I met his father just that we met in college. I wonder if I let it slip out sometime and he heard. Then he said Astro says that’s where he should go to learn about being a wolf. What the hell. I had asked him who Astro was. He was already curled up in the backseat when he answered me. “He is my wolf mom.” I sat there stunned for I don’t know how long. By the time I looked in the back seat he was already snoring once again. I get out of the shower and dry off. I don’t know anything about the werewolves or being one. I just know after I seen Reese morphing into a human in front of me scared me shitless. As soon as I had the chance I ran and never looked back. My heart still hurts every time I think of him. Or when Ryan makes the same expressions or acts like him. It doesn’t help that he looks just like him but has my eyes. I sigh walking into the room. Ryan is passed out again with the remote in his hand. I place it on the nightstand. I then recheck all the locks. Turning off the light I crawl in bed. I snuggle in. Maybe it’s time to go to Reese. He’s the only one I can think of that can help Ryan. I just don’t know. I was woken up by a hand on my mouth and a sinister voice in my ear. “Don’t make a noise or you kid gets it. Understand?” I nod my head yes. I look and see that there are four men in the room with me. I’m scared shitless when the light turns on and I see a man that I assumed was dead for the last thirteen years. “Hello my lovely. Did you miss me?” I start to shake all over in terror. This is the man that kidnapped me and tried to feed me every day. He is also the one of my nightmares that, I seen morphing right in front of my cell. I look over to where my son is already knocked out. “What do you want from us?” I ask as loud as my voice would let me which came out as a squeak. He smiles a nasty looking smile at me. “I have been following you all these years. You see we kidnapped you originally because you are Reese’s mate and a human to boot.” He chuckles at me. “Then when he rescued you and you ran from him. We were happy that he never chased after you.” I look at him surprised. “What do you mean he never chased after me. He almost caught me when I had our son.” Now he is belly laughing at me. “Oh no my dear that was me. You see I thought you would go back to him after you had his brat. Good for me you didn’t. I had to make sure he was a wolf pup before taking him. That’s why I waited. Then today I seen the footage of him morphing right out in front of everyone.” He rubs his hands together. “Only twelve years old and able to shift. How strong he must be and an alpha heir at that.” I’m getting really scared that I’m not going to make it out of this alive. What the hell are they going to do. “I’ll ask again. What do you want?” He laughs evilly one more time. “It’s simple really. I want your son.” My whole body goes cold at his words. “No…. no…… you cannot have him. Please I beg of you take me. Leave my son alone.” He looks at my crying face and has no emotion on his. He starts clapping his hands. “Bravo. Bravo. Very good acting.” He shakes his head at me. “Why would I take you. Reese doesn’t want you or he would have never let you escape him. Your weak, what Alpha in their right mind would want a human Luna?” I start to bawl my eyes out. All I understood from his rant is that Reese didn’t want me, and he is still going to take my son. I look at him as he stares at my son. “He on the other hand is very powerful. He is all I need to get back at the Blue Ridge Pack.” I hear him say before I feel a pain in the pain in the side of my head then darkness descends on me. I wake up lying in bed. I remember everything that happened in my dream. It felt so real. The room is still pitch black. I wonder what time it is. I go to turn my head to the clock on the nightstand and feel a stabbing pain on the side of my head. I raise my hand to my head and feel a lot of wet sticky stuff. “s**t!” I sit up quickly and feel nauseated with my head spinning. I try to ignore it and turn on the light. I quickly look around the room. Ryan is gone I get up and run opening all the doors. He is not here. I run outside and throw the deadbolts open so I don’t lock myself out. I look up and down the walkway no sign of him. I look out in the parking lot. No sign of him or the four creeps that attacked me last night. “Honey are you okay. Do you need an ambulance? Your head is bleeding something awful.” I look over at a little old lady. “No, I’m okay. Thank you.” I say going back to my room closing and locking my door. Walking to the bathroom like a zombie I start the shower. I need to clean my wound and see how bad it is. Then think calmly about my next action. I have to be calm, or I will go crazy and never find my son. I step into the shower and start cleaning my head. It’s not bad at all. Just a cut and a goose egg. Not even big enough for stitches. My mind starts to wonder back to last night. That man said that it was him the whole time chasing me. That Reese is an Alpha. Now I had researched about wolf packs after I escaped from all the craziness when I found I was pregnant. The Alpha of a pack is the leader in charge of keeping everyone safe. He also said that Ryan was very strong to morph at such a young age. I step out and get dressed. Drying my wound making sure it’s not bleeding anymore. I take a couple of aspirins. Pack our things and walk out to my car. I’m not hungry, I’m too stressed to eat so I make my way to the office. I hand over my key card and check out. I get into my car and open the glove compartment pulling out a map. Opening it up I look for the Montana Rocky Mountains. I am going to a little town right off the Mountain line. By the distance from where I’m at it will probably take me three days to drive if I don’t stop to sleep. Nodding my head, I turn my car over and back up. Leaving the parking lot, I turn towards Reese and my past to save my future. “I hope you’re ready for round two Reese.”
