CHAPTER ONE : Mira's Fiance
"Where are you?" Mira’s voice blasted through the phone, sharp and panicked.
I clutched my phone tightly, glancing around as I spoke into the receiver. "I'm already at the hotel lobby."
"Be fast before he gets here!" she snapped, and the call abruptly ended.
I stood frozen for a second in the middle of the hotel lobby, taking in my surroundings. The place was quiet, clean, and expensive. The floor was made of smooth, shiny white marble that reflected the warm yellow light coming from the large crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. A few plush velvet armchairs sat near the glass entrance, and a large vase filled with fresh red roses stood on a polished wooden desk by the reception. Everything looked peaceful, but my heart was beating so fast it felt like it would jump out of my chest.
I hurried to the elevators, pressing the button with a shaking finger, and rode it up to her floor.
When I reached the room and pushed the door open, I found Mira pacing back and forth across the floor, her heels clicking loudly against the tiles. The hotel room was simple and fine, decorated in soft shades of grey and cream. A large, comfortable bed with white pillows sat in the middle of the room, facing a flat-screen TV on the wall. A small wooden table stood by the window, which looked out over the bright lights of the city outside.
Mira stopped walking the moment she saw me. Her eyes narrowed with anger, and she pointed a finger right in my face.
"You never take anything seriously!" she shouted, her voice shaking with rage. "It's like you actually want your father to rot in jail!"
"I came as fast as I could, Mira, and there is traffic" I whispered, my voice trembling.
"If you mess this up, you have no idea what I and my family will do to you," she threatened, stepping closer. "We will make sure you have nothing left. Do you hear me?"
I nodded slowly, too scared to argue back.
Without wasting another second, she grabbed my arm and pushed me toward the bed. She picked up a matching set of cloth she's wearing and threw them at me, along with a wig that was styled exactly like her own hair.
"Put these on now," she ordered.
I quickly changed into the clothes while she watched me like a hawk. Once I was dressed, she grabbed a makeup kit and rushed over, quickly applying the exact same makeup she wore to my face so we would look identical in the dim light.
When she finished, she grabbed my shoulders, making me look straight into her eyes as she repeated the rules for the hundredth time.
"Listen to me very carefully," Mira whispered fiercely. "Do not talk. Do not say a single word to him unless he speaks to you first. If you have to speak, keep your voice low so he will not notice that we sound different. Keep the lights dim, exactly how I set them. And if he complains or asks why you are acting strange, tell him you are shy because this is your first time."
"What if he finds out?" I asked, a tear slipping down my cheek.
"He won't find out if you just follow instructions!" Mira hissed. "Just keep your head down and do what you are told. Your father's freedom depends entirely on this."
Moments later, we moved upstairs to the top-floor penthouse. Mira sat down on the edge of the large king-sized bed, pulling the blanket over her legs, while I slipped quietly into the dark bathroom and closed the door just enough to see through the crack.
A few minutes later, the front door unlocked and heavy footsteps echoed into the room.
A very tall, powerful man walked in, holding a phone to his ear and talking loudly about a business deal. Mira forced a sweet, welcoming smile onto her face and stood up to greet him, holding out a glass of champagne she had already spiked with a mild sleeping drug.
"Welcome, darling," Mira said smoothly, taking the phone gently from his hand and ending his call. "I poured you a drink to help you relax."
The man smiled, taking the glass from her hand. "Thank you, my mira," he said, taking a long sip of the champagne.
The drug was designed to make him dizzy and unfocused, blurring his vision and his thoughts so he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Mira and I in the dim room.
Just a few minutes after finishing the wine, the man began to blink heavily, rubbing his eyes as a wave of sleepiness washed over him. He walked over to the bed and sat down heavily, leaning back against the pillows.
Mira immediately put on a worried face, touching his arm. " are you okay ?"
" yes I'm good, I'm just tired"
" sorry, honey, but I really need to use the restroom quickly. Wait for me here."
"Okay, hurry back," he mumbled, his voice thick and heavy with sleep.
Mira slipped away from the bed and hurried into the bathroom to me. We quickly traded places, and I stepped back out into the dimly lit bedroom, my legs shaking so badly I could barely stand.
The man reached out in the dark and took my hand. I was surprised by his touch; it was with a gentleness I didn't expect from someone so powerful and stern. But the drugs were clearly affecting him now, making his movements slow and his eyes heavy, though it hadn't knocked him out completely.
As a virgin, I had always dreamed of how my first night would be—I had imagined romance, love, and a husband who truly cared for me.
He caressed the back of my hand with his thumb and gently drew me closer to him on the mattress. Slowly, he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine in a soft, tender kiss.
"Don't be nervous," he whispered quietly against my lips, his voice deep and warm. "I will be gentle with you... and if you feel uncomfortable at any point, just tell me."
Hearing those kind words made my chest ache with a confusing mix of sadness and relief.
Slowly, his fingers found the zipper at the back of my dress and pulled it down. He pressed a warm kiss to my bare shoulder, and then trailed his lips slowly down toward my breast. A strange, unfamiliar shiver ran through my entire body. I didn't even understand what I was feeling—it felt like I was burning up inside, and I was so overwhelmed I didn't know whether I should sigh or cry.
My breathing grew heavy in the quiet room. I tried my best to stay quiet, but I could no longer hold back a soft moan when his hand found my sensitive folds. I was going mad with a foreign, intense feeling that I never knew my body was capable of producing.
Then, a sharp, burning pain suddenly tore through my v****a.
I gasped and cried out in pain, freezing completely.
The man stopped moving immediately, sensing my distress. He propped himself up slightly on his elbow, stroking my hair gently in the dark. "Are you alright? Did I hurt you?" he asked, his voice full of genuine concern.
I nodded slowly into the dark, biting my lip so hard I could taste salt, waiting for the burning pain to settle. When I relaxed a little bit, he continued slowly and carefully, making sure to be as gentle as possible. I had to bite my lower lip until it bled to hold back my cries.
Growing up, I had always dreamed of a beautiful first night with someone who loved me. I never thought I would be sleeping with a man I barely knew, hiding in the dark under false pretenses.
Eventually, the exhaustion and the emotional weight of the night took over. I drifted off to sleep right there beside him.
When I woke up hours later in the middle of the night, the room was completely dark and quiet. I felt his arms wrapped securely around my waist, pulling me close against his chest. He was gently cuddling me, his fingers slowly stroking a small mole on my spinal column over and over again.
I lay there completely still, pretending to be fast asleep. After a long while, I heard his breathing slow down and deepen as he fell back into a heavy, drug-induced sleep.
Carefully, so as not to wake him up, I slid out from his arms, got off the bed, and met Mira in the bathroom to swap places before daybreak
