Aidan Redux

Monday morning Dylan came and picked me up for school just like he said he would. We pull up to the school, where we see our friends staring at us as we get out of Dylan's car. As we walk over to where our friends are I notice that Blaine isn't there. "I wonder where Blaine is at, I wanted to ask him about his dad," I say to Dylan. "I don't know babe, but we will find out," We meet up with everyone standing at our usual spot. "Hey, guys, what's going on?" I ask my friends. "Hey Kiera, Dylan, not much going on we were just wondering where Blaine is. It's not like him to miss school," 

“Nobody knows where he is at," 

 "No we don't, the last time we saw him was Friday at the circle, Kiera," 

" Yea were worried about him, his dad was acting really weird that day," Lilly acknowledged. 

" Has anyone tried to call him," Dylan asks. 

"Yes, I did yesterday, but he never answered," Cassie admitted. 

"Well how about we all go to his house after school today and check on him," I suggest. "Kiera I don't think that's a good idea that you go, you know if your mom found out she wouldn't trust you out with me again," Dylan says. "How about Lilly and I go to Blaine's and you take Kiera home, when we find out something we will call you," Cassie said calmly. "That's a good idea ok just be careful if you get into any trouble just call me." Dylan cautions. " Fine, I guess that will work," I say tartly. We head off to classes promising to meet up at my house later that day. It turned out to be the longest day ever. I couldn't concentrate at all in any of my classes, my brain stayed on one channel all day, where is Blaine? 

Dylan drives me home while Lilly, Karley, and Cassie head to Blaine's house. When we pull up to my house I get out and go to the front porch, toss my bag on the ground and sit on the steps with my head in my hands, Dylan comes over sits down beside me puts his arm around my shoulders, and lets me cry. We sit like this for hours until mom pulls into the driveway. "Kiera is everything ok," mom asks me with concern in her voice. "Yes I'm fine, I guess all of this just hit me at once." I wipe my eyes for the hundredth time. 

"So did you find out anything about Blaine's dad," I ask her. She sits down on the other side of me. "Well I hate to add to your stress, but I did find out some things about Aiden, are you sure you want to know,"   

" Yes I'm sure, I can handle it I promise," 

"Well according to the captain, Aiden is wanted for questioning in multiple murders across the United States,"  

"Do what," 

"I'm afraid so, we sent some officers to his house this morning but he wasn't there, was Blaine at school today," 

"No, he wasn't." I look over to Dylan and say " We need to call Cassie and the others tell them, I don't want them hurt,” 

"Your right I'm on it right now," Dylan mutters as he is dialing.  

"Oh god, mom you don't think he wants to hurt me do you," 

"I don't know hun, but what I do know is he isn't going to lay a hand on you I promise you," 

"Ok good, The girls made it to Blaine's house and he is there, they said it looked like he had some bruises on his face, he told them that he was sick and that was why he didn't make it to school today," Dylan tells us when he hangs up his phone. "Did they say if Blaine's dad was there or not," Mom asks Dylan. "No ma`am they didn't say, just that Blaine was bruised up pretty badly,"  Mom gets her phone out of her purse and calls the station to relay the news to her captain. Before she hangs up I overheard her saying, that's fine if he is by himself you can bring him to my house. I'll keep an eye on him. "Mom, did you just tell them to bring Blaine here?” I exclaimed. "Yes I did we have an extra room and he obviously needs help." Mom said. I get up head inside the house and go up to my room and fall on my bed face-first into my pillows. Dylan quietly comes over, sits on the bed, and starts rubbing my head. "Kiera it's going to be ok, I promised you I wouldn't let anything happen to you,"  

"I know you did, I'm not mad at her for having Blaine come over here, it's just what happens if his dad comes looking for him," 

"You know what why don't you brush up on your magic, maybe there are some useful spells in your Elisi's Book of Shadows,"  

"Yea I just might do that, thanks for being here for me Dylan." I lean over and kiss him, his lips are so soft I find myself melting into them again, we lay there in my bed holding each other for what seemed like hours until we hear mom coming up the stairs we both sit up on the bed as Dylan's phone rings "I'm over here at Kiera's mom I'm heading home right now," He leans over and kisses my cheek as mom enters the room. " Call me if you need anything even if it's just to talk ok," I shake my head yes he then turns to my mom, "I'll see you later Ms. Cormac,"  

"You to Dylan and why don't you just start calling me Shannon," 

Dylan smiles then turns to me and waves goodbye as he walks out of my room, mom comes and sits beside me. "So are you really ok Kiera," 

"Yea I'm really ok, actually Dylan gave me an idea Elisi's Book of Shadows, might help us," 

"That's a great idea, I haven't looked through those in ages, I'll go make us some supper and we can go through it together," 

With that, she heads downstairs to the kitchen to start on supper, while I get out Elisi's BOS and head to the kitchen. While we are eating our doorbell rings mom walks to the door with her three eighty in her hand as she answers it, Lilith and Dylan are at the door as I come walking into the living room.  

"What's going on," I ask Dylan.  

"It's hard to explain,"  

"I'll explain," Lilith announces. 

We all sit down across from each other at the kitchen table as Lilith starts to explain why they are here. " My family comes from a coven in Ireland called Mystic Moon, we are a group of magical blood witches, so when I heard about what was going on with Aidan I consulted my tarot cards and called some friends up. It turns out that Aidan is a witch hunter, actually, he comes from a long line of witch hunters. So that means if he is seeking you out Kiera he must think that you're a blood witch. Also, it means that he wants you and your mom dead," I just sit there in shock, barely even breathing. Mom gets up and gets herself another cup of coffee. "I knew something was off about him when I caught him listening to us at the last circle. I just couldn't put my finger on it. Nothing's changed, at least we know what we're dealing with now. But one thing is bothering me if you're a blood witch Lilith how are you still alive if he is a witch hunter," 

"I don't use the same methods as all the other witches. I also have my supplies cloaked where Dylan and I can only see them, even my pentacle I wear around my neck has a cloaking spell on it," Lilith explains. I finally start coming out of my shocked state and start crying, shaking, and repeating. "He wants to kill me, he wants to kill me," Mom comes over, holds me close then I feel her hand on my head and ever so lightly I hear her chanting. I feel a calming sensation come over me to where I can breathe again. "There dear feel better now," Mom, Lilith, and Dylan are staring at me with concerned looks on their faces. "I'm fine now thanks," I say. We continue talking when there is another knock at the door this time it's the police with Blaine. Wow, he really did get beat up as they brought him into the house. Mom thanks them as they leave and head back to their police cruiser. "Have a seat," I tell Blaine as I motion to the couch. He sits down and I sit in the seat across from him. " Hey, Blaine who hurt you," I ask him. " Nobody." 

"Don't lie to me Blaine, tell me we can help you," 

"Fine if it'll shut you up, it was my dad ok," 

"No not ok, why did he hit you," 

"Because I was supposed to get close to you and I didn't, I wanted to date Cassie, there you are happy," Blaine growls. 

"Cassie? Really, you know she likes you too," I tell him with a smile. 

"You seriously do, really," 

"Yes really. Now come on in the kitchen so I can get some ice on your face," 

He follows me to the kitchen where Dylan and his mom are still at the kitchen table talking. I head to the icebox for some ice to put into a baggie while Blaine sits down at the table with the others. I finish making the ice pack and hand it to Blaine. "So your room is right through there," I point to the door on the other side of the kitchen. "Thanks, Kiera," Blaine says. Blaine looks at Dylan and Lilith. "I'm sorry I didn't know anything like was going to happen all I knew was that dad had wanted me to get close to Kiera and her mom, I was so grateful when you two hooked up, I tried to tell him I wasn't interested, and when he heard Ms. Cormac talking to you Ms. Duncan he found out they were dating then he just lost it," 

"And that was the result of him losing it," Lilith replies while pointing at Blaine's face. 

"Yes, it is he was yelling that I had messed up his plans," 

Lilith and Dylan say their goodbyes later that evening, and we all agreed to meet up at their house tomorrow to start working on a solution to the Aidan problem. I get up and around early the next morning to get ready for school. While I head downstairs it sounds like mom is in the kitchen, except as I around the corner it's Blaine in the kitchen making breakfast. “Good morning Kiera, I figured since you let me stay here I would help out around the house," Blaine says as he hands me a plate of bacon and eggs. "Thanks, and I really didn't have a choice mom told the captain to bring you here," 

"Ok but you're still being nice to me even though my dad wants you dead," 

"You're not to blame for your father's stupidity, also I'm not a mean person, besides it looked like you needed a place to stay."We make it through the school day with ease, except when we get ready to head over to Dylan's house I spot Aiden watching us from behind some trees beside the parking lot. When we showed up mom had just pulled up and got out of her car, as we walked up to the door Lilith was already there holding it open for us. "I have some snacks set out in the kitchen if any of you are hungry." Dylan and Blaine head in to get them something to eat, I follow just to grab something to drink. "You're not hungry Kiera," Dylan asks me. 

"No, I'm just not feeling well." 

"It's probably from all the stress you're under." I shake my head in agreement. As we head back into the living room I notice my mom and Lilith are in a deep discussion about Aiden and what should be done to protect me. "But mom, he is after you, not just me," I informed her. "I know hunny but it is my job to protect you and that's what I'm going to do," Mom says. "We're not going to go hunting him down, but we are going to set a magical alarm around your house which will alert you if he is outside, your mom is going to put the same alarm out around your school," Lilith advised me. "So you're saying the alarm is going to be specific to just him, nobody else can set it off," 

"That's right, and only the people in this room will be able to hear the alarm," Mom chimes in. "Ok so when do we do this," I say. "It's already been done while you three were in the kitchen," Lilith replies. Mom comes over handing each one of us kids an amulet they blessed to protect us. " Keep this on at all times never take it off," Mom demands. It seems that we are ready for any kind of battle that is coming our way.
