Chapter 3

The bell rang signaling the end of class which also signaled the time that I have been waiting for, lunch! By the time I reach the cafeteria, my head ache started again. It was very unusual since I rarely get sick, so me having a headache like this is very odd. But still; nothing can stop me from eating. I went straight to look at the food offered, took a tray and picked what I’d like to eat. Since I decided to follow what my tummy wants, I was left with no where to sit at. With that I decided to go out to the field end eat my food there.

I found this secluded area near the forest which is a great spot to stay during lunch. One reason, I can see everyone and anyone who tries to go near me. With that, I decided to stay there every lunch time for as long as I have to stay in this school.

Danita’s POV

When the bell rang I saw Sky standing up already on her way out the room; I immediately closed my notebook and tried to put all my things inside my bag while running after her. But my bff Amber pulled me back saying we needed to talk. I gave up seeing that Sky was no longer with reach of my vision. So I turned around and talked to Amber.

“What the hell?”

“What?! Dani, you’re acting so strange. That’s not the person that I know you are.”

“Elaborate further.”

“Well mainly. You’ve never talk that much in front of people. And you don’t go after someone like you’ll die without them. Specially with a girl.”

“Yeah! Well, I know. But I can’t take it. The force pulling me to her is very strong.”

“This should stop Dani. Give her time, if the girl likes you she’ll be the one to approach.”

“okay, okay. I understand. I’ll lay low starting now.”

I did say I’ll lay low on her. But I didn’t said I won’t stop looking for her. So I expected her to be at the cafeteria once we got there. Once there, I looked everywhere for her, but to my dismay, she wasn’t. Hoping to see her still, I walked to the food and took the one’s I wanted. I got a seat and finished my meal but still, no sign of her. I just hope she’s okay.

Sky’s POV

When lunch ended, I went straight to the next class. I didn’t let anything bother me the whole day. And I even stayed away as much as I can from that noisy girl. All went well until classes ended in the afternoon. I was no longer feeling any headache or body pain when I caught a strange smell. The smell lasted until I reached my locker. Someone, who ever it is marked my locker with a strange smell. I thought, maybe that’s how they welcome new comers. But when I opened my locker, a letter was inserted on the bottom. Then I decided to read it.

Dear new girl,

I will be watching you.

I thought, ‘damn it! Who the hell!?’ and then a thought came to me. Those golden eyes that I saw at class, this letter is from that person. ‘But why try to scare me? It’s not even worth it.’ So I crumpled the paper closed my locker and threw the paper on my way out of school. And as expected, infront of the school was my sister’s car while she was waiting for me to go out.

‘Hey sis! How long have you been there?’

‘Hmm. Let me see. About half an hour or so. Why?’

‘Oh nothing. Just wondering?’

‘Well then, are you coming in yet? Or do I have to drag you inside this car myself?’

I opened the door and got seated beside the driver’s seat.

“So tell me. Why did you have to use our mind link to talk to me?”

“I’m sorry. I just couldn’t wait to talk to you.”

“Why? Is there something bothering you? Did something happen?”

“No. No, I’m just tired. By the way; where you accepted for the job?”

“Speaking of. Yes, I was hired. And will start next week.”

“Great! Now you may treat me some ice cream.”

“Sure! I would like some too.”

We drove off to town and looked for a place where we could have our dinner and ice cream for desert. While looking for a place to eat in. we took our time and the chance to check the town and be familiar with the place. The town was not small but it was not big either. So, let’s say, it’s just perfect.

After familiarizing ourselves with our new environment, we parked in front of a diner near the town hall where we decided to have dinner and our favorite desert, ice cream. When we entered and took our seat, the waitress took our orders immediately. The service was fast so we decided to go back home after an hour.

Since it’s just 7pm, we decided to fix the living room just incase we’ll have guests. It didn’t took us long to fix the room the way we wanted to, thanks to our super strength. But much to out surprise, someone knocked on the door. With shock on our faces; I decided to talk to my big sis through our mind link.

‘Who is that? Are you expecting someone?’

‘No. Are you?’

‘Nope! I told you. I wont have friends. I mean, not yet.’

‘Well, why didn’t we felt their presence when they arrived?’

‘Beats me.’

We where brought back to our senses when another knock came with a man’s voice. So we decided to open the door together, just so that we can protect each other if something happens.

“Good evening ladies.” Said the man.

“Good evening. But we were not expecting visitors. Do we know you sir?” My sister replied.

“I do believe you girls are expecting me and my wife. If you would let us in, that will be a better spot than here on your front porch.”

“Oh! Yes, I’m sorry. Please do come in.”

We moved and opened the door wider for our guests to enter the house. I thought, ‘thank goodness. We cleaned and fixed the living room.’ with that, my sister turned to my direction and smiled. We offered the man and his wife to seat on the couch while I went to the kitchen and brought out some drinks. When we were all seated and comfortable, I was the first one to speak.

“Excuse me sir. We were not really expecting visitors. Especially this late at night.”

“Yes, I understand that we got both of you confused. Let us introduce ourselves. I am Patrick. And this is my wife Sofia. I am the alpha and she is the luna of the pack here in Rockfort.”

With that treated as a queue, my sister took her chance to talk.

“Oh! How rude of us. We’re sorry for earlier. We didn’t know that you’ll be dropping by to check on us.”

“It’s fine dear. My wife insisted on going here tonight. That’s why you where not given a notice.”

“So what can we do for you sir?”

“Well, my husband and I would like to welcome you and your sister here in Rockfort and we are wondering if you girls would like to join our pack.” The luna spoke with so much softness in her voice.

“Well, do we have to? Or do we have the choice not to?” I replied.

“Yes, you do have a choice my dear. As what my husband have told you, we are the pack leaders of Rockfort. But there are other packs near us as well. If you want, we could leave the two of you to think of it and check on which tribe to join. We have heard of what happened to your parents and the old pack that you had. And we’re sorry for that great lost but we can take care of you girls as if our own daughters. Just think about it.”

“Well, my darling wife had said it all. We hope to hear you answer by Friday. There will be a welcoming dinner at our house at Palm Street. It’s the biggest house near the woods. We expect the both of you to be there by 7pm. But for now we have to go and let you girls rest.”

We all walked towards the door with the alpha and luna bidding their goodbyes and goodnights. After making sure that they’re gone. We decided to lock all the doors and windows properly before going to sleep. That night I slept with my sister on her chosen room, while thinking of the offer they had made. I fell asleep thinking of our parents and how I’ve missed them wishing they’re still here with us.
